This is a delightful Madame Alexander-kins Doll. She is SLW kins which means she is a straight leg walker 1955. She is in excellent condition with original blonde triple stitched wig in curled set, soft coloring with brown brows, green flutter eyes, black under lashes, rosy peach blushed cheeks and red lips. Her body is in excellent condition with arms that will hold a pose and walker works. Wendy is wearing a part-tagged purple and white stripe school dress, net slip, great eyelet pinafore, matching undies, shoes and rayon socks. Outfit is in excellent clean condition and all set to display with her Richard Original hat and Needle Felted Wool adorable Doll. Smoke free home and Thanks for your Interest. Lovely MADAME ALEXANDER-KINS 1953-54 Deep Pink BALLERINA OUTFIT w/Box. I dont know how long I have had this doll, probably 20 years or more and she has been stored away at least inside my home in climate controlled environment. She is not mint but at least in very good condition. Hair is a little mussed and flat, probably will want to air blow her off. This is a very rare what I believe is an Alexander-kins doll by Madame Alexander made in 1953 or 1954. The outfit is an original Madame Alexander angel outfit.. See attached photo from catalog. The doll may not be an Alexander Kin’s doll but may be a Wendy-Kins doll. Her eyes open and close when you put her down but she doesn’t seem like a walker because when I move the limbs her head doesn’t move. So this is where it is throwing me off. If you have any information regarding the exact type of doll that would be helpful. However I know that both the outfit and the doll are rare. This is a pre-owned 8 vintage Madame Alexander-Kins Majorette doll #482 Wendy Ann produced in the year 1955 only. She is considered very hard to find. This Wendy Ann is in very good vintage condition with only a few minor issues. Her string on her hat broke on one side only, just as I took it off for the pictures! Apart from that the hat is in very good condition & only slightly age yellowed. Her hair is a little mussy but remains in its original style, and appears to have a stitch that has come loose from her triple stitched wig. Her hair has not been cut. The elastic on the pink cumberbund waist band has stretched out & is being held tight with a paper clip. Her sleep blue eyes are sharp & clear & open & close with ease and all face paint is still present. Her face has nice coloring on her cheeks with no rubs. The boots are original & have the soft fuzzy bottoms. The gold elastic front bow only, not the gold trim, may have been replaced by a previous owner. Her tagged alexander-kins majorette dress & matching under wear has no holes, no tears & no spots. The white on the dress has age yellowed slightly. Her stringing remains good & she can stand easily on her own. I detect no odors. This Alexander-kins straight leg walker doll was probably never played with. Here is an example of our favorite type of Wend-kins outfits. She is so adorable in her 1955 School Dress (tag missing), #444 pictured in Patricia Smiths World of Alexander-kins published 1985, on page 44. Not only at the waist, but also much amplified at the hem. The Kelly green dress with ric rac at the neck & matching panties are of sturdy cotton, with square snaps of course. Her rich auburn triple-stitched wig in a curly flip-style with bangs is shiny & perfect, as are the painted features & color of her face. The eyes appear very dark deep Navy blue until turned sideways in a bright lightthen you can see a pale blue iris. Her green straw hat has a pink ribbon & bow to match the dress. The rayon sox & white velveteen snap-over shoes complete the original ensemble. There are no scratches, stains, splits, nor cracks on the well-strung mint body that is marked “ALEX” on back, which includes a working walker mechanism. Her head turns freely when the legs move. The clothes are all original & excellent, with one minor addition of newer elastic thread hand stitched around the panties original stretched waist band. It can easily be removed if desired, but is actually invisible from outside. She is a lovely example of a well preserved & beloved Wendy doll. Vintage 1955 Mme Alexander-Kins Wendy SLW Bride Doll w/Hang Tag. Scroll down for larger views. From a doll collectors estate, this is an Alexander-Kins or Wendy Doll. She is a straight leg walker, which were made only in 1955. She is 8” high, all jointed hard plastic. She has a pretty face with original paint and ivory coloring. Plus blue sleep eyes, molded lashes, ruby lips & blushed cheeks. She wears her brunette wig. Still in the original curled set. Her body is in very good condition, clean and bright. One leg walks with head slightly turning, the other leg needs to be adjusted. Wendy wears her original TAGGED’Alexander-kins’ ivory satin bridal gown w/tatted lace on the bodice. Also original panties, taffeta petticoat, and replaced shoes. On her head is her original tulle veil with a lace cap. The outfit is clean, & bright. Just one tiny light mark under the fold of her skirt. She is an appealing little doll that has been kept in a glass cabinet for many years. She also has her original paper hang tag (no string).
