Madame Alexander Dolls

This Cissy doll by Madame Alexander has been with me for more than 12 years now. She has been displayed in different outfits during that time, but the ensemble she is listed in is the one she has been wearing for a while now and was intended to be her forever outfit. The aqua taffeta dress from 1957 is tagged and has the longer waltz-length skirt that stands out so beautifully. The taffeta is very crisp. This dress would have been worn under a black velveteen bolero in the past, which caused some wrinkling of the cap sleeves and the tag to not lay flat. Not sure I ever had the bolero. The dress closes in the back with four square snaps, which are all working and secure. The vintage corsage made from Alexander-type flowers was added by me. Even has the wrapped stems like a real ladies corsage from the 50s era. It is tacked on and can be removed, but I don’t know why you’d want to. Tacking is not my forte, but it has been secure for display. There are no spots, stains, holes, open seams or other problems with the dress. The taffeta has such a beautiful sheen, as you can see in the photos. Underneath the dress, Cissy wears a pretty white taffeta can-can slip trimmed with tulle and rick rack (not a Cissy item, but better), white taffeta lace-trimmed Cissy panties with good original elastic, and Cissy seamed stockings with no holes or runs. Her shoes are awesome Premier high heels with gold elastic and pearlized bases with heels that are encrusted with tiny rhinestones in various colors. So perfect for this dress. These shoes had not been used before dressing Cissy in this costume. Her frilly tulle hat with excellent flowers is original to a different Cissy outfit (#2146 from 1957), but ties in so well with the dress corsage. It does not have a chin strap, but rather a hatpin to use. I never used the pin. Just placed the hat on Cissy’s head once she was situated for display. Cissy’s accessories include a three-strand pearl necklace with spring clasp, “diamond” stud earrings holding pearl drops, vintage white nylon gloves, stretchy pearl bracelet, blue stone ring (not a Cissy item), and a gold metal purse with chain handle. This charming little purse is weighty, but Cissy’s arm has no problem supporting. The purse doesn’t snap shut at the top, but has a spring hinge at the bottom which closes it. A really pretty and unusual item. Although Cissy is an exquisite display, she has some flaws that need to be noted. She was sent for a spa treatment not long after I got her. Her blushing was refreshed and hair redone. Can’t recall if anything else was done. I believe her brush eyelashes are the original ones. What was not repaired (and I suppose it was not requested) were the two splits at the tops of her legs where they go into the body cavity. The one on the left leg is not visible on the outside; the one on the right leg is visible about 1/4 inch outside the body cavity. The other thing which cannot be repaired is a “nip” out of her lower left arm where it joins the upper portion. If her arm is bent at the elbow, it shows (but it is in the back so not seen from the front). If you push the lower part back up under the upper, it closes and is not seen. The last two photos show the nip if the elbow is bent and not seen when the arm is straightened and pushed up with a slight twist. You can also see it is not visible in the back view photo. I can say that during the many years I’ve owned her, these issues have not changed. But if any of this bothers you, this Cissy is not for you. Her hairdo has stayed very nice, but the curls drawn back at the nape of the neck have developed a little frizz. Nothing distracting, in my opinion. Due to the limited number of pictures that can be posted, I did not include those of the splits/cracks, but they are available upon request. If you are seriously considering her, I would want you to be able to see those. I could have changed out her arms at any time, but elected to not do so since the skin tone of her original body parts matched well. I did undress Cissy to let you view her blushing and skin color. Doubt that I will undress any doll in the future. Have to be so careful. And getting those gloves off and back on was a painstaking process. I need to add that her stringing is good. Her eyes seem more blue in person, but the camera sees green, also. Cissy will be available for 30 days, but will not be relisted after that time. Although needing to downsize, keeping her would not break my heart. I have many different pictures that can be supplied. Have some good close-ups of the hat you might want to see. This is the 20-21 Cissy by Madame Alexander. Her eyes are perfectly centered. I know of no bodilly damage to her. Please refer to my pics and feel free to ask questions. Her dress was made into a one of a kind with the fancy button decorations. She has wonderful little accessories. You can be so proud to own this doll with clean and styled wig and perfectly complemented with color in her choice of outfit. The hat is Richard’s Originals. Looks like her blush has been refreshed and a sealer added to her face. She has vintage nylons, jewelry, a vintage ring, and her heels are a very unique peach color to match her whole outfit. Karyn did a wonderful job with this girl. Her stringing all movement is all good. She is ready to be queen of your collection. This Cissy was dressed and beautified by Karyn Shaffner. The stand is not included. Our home is non smoking and she she has no odors. Vintage Madame Alexander Doll 20 Cissy Queen. This is the 1955 version of the Vintage Madame Alexander 20″ Cissy “Queen Elizabeth Doll, honoring her coronation. Cissy has a hard plastic head, and soft vinyl jointed arms. She does show some slight scuffs on her upper arms. Her honey blonde hair is in this original set with a replaced hair net. Her Tiara is missing a couple of jewels but is in wonderful condition overall. She is marked on the back of her head Alexander. There is some some scuffing around her neck and an area on the shoulder. Cissy has painted red lips, blue eyes that open and close freely with full lashes. She does have a couple of small paint chips on her forehead. Just a beautiful face. Cissy’s wonderful brocade gown has some very faint stains and spots along hemline but very faint. She does, however, have light red/pink stains on the back of her gown, bustle area, it may be set in after all these years. I could not lift it with a washing. There is also a spot on back bodice along neckline. Other than that, the gown is just wonderful and tagged Cissy. Her undergarments consist of original matching panties and a wonderful Cissy tagged teddy. Her nylons are perfect. Her hoop slip is nice in original condition. Her gloves are aged but sound with a small hole at the top on the left arm. Her blue sash, “Sash of the Garter” jewels are tarnished and has some fading. She has on original earrings and one bracelet Her head and arms feel secure and she is not cracked on her torso, buttocks or torso. Her knees bend freely. Welcome to my auctions. Cissy is 20 tall, with hard plastic body and soft vinyl jointed arms. Her dress is done in a crisp vintage polished cotton fabric, in lavender, with white polka dots. It has white baby ric-rac trim, val lace on collar and sleeves and grosgrain ribbon at waist. Underneath is a white taffeta half slip with double tulle and ric-rac trim. White panties to match. New nylons that are tight. Her hat is made of nylon with white tulle bow and white netting that ties around the hat. There are lavender and lilac flowers on the hat and matching white bag with flower decoration.. Doll is beautiful with matte paint, brows, full lashes, cheek color, gold-green eyes and full red mouth. Her hair is in original set with curls around her face and back and tiny bangs in a medium blonde color. No cracks, rubs, tears. No repaints that I know of. She was this way when I bought her. She has a glue spot on back of head that is probably factory. I can see no other reason that it is there otherwise. She in great condition. Clean with no odors. Dress and slip were made by Vintage doll Boutique, hat and bag were made by me. From smoke free home. I no longer sell outside the U. S because of postal problems…….. This is the 20-21 Cissy by Madame Alexander. This Cissy is the cleanest Cissy I have ever seen. I lifted her head and looked and she is like a new doll. I love the material and fit and she also has a red rick rack can can slip that she is trying to show off in one of my pics. She will have panties and hose and a new pair of white shoes to match. She also will have a faux diamond ring that is NOT Madame Alexander. She does not have earring holes. She just has a very pretty face with very blue eyes, all lashes and oh so clean. Golden blonde hair original wig. Her cheeks have been professionally blushed very lightly and sealed. She is a nicely strung doll with no issues. The stand is not included. MADAME ALEXANDER VINTAGE CISSY – BEAUTIFUL. This doll was freshened and restrung at a professional Cissy “Spa” about ten years ago. She has been displayed only in this gorgeous reproduction outfit with dress, full slip, panties, hose and shoes. Notice the rhinestones in her bodice as the vintage Cissy dresses are. This was created by a professional seamstress. Her hair has been kept pinned to preserve the hair that is it’s original hair style. Her stringing is tight and her complexion was only freshened – not repainted. She has no splits. Her lashes are full and her beautiful blue eyes are enchanting. 18 1950s Madame Alexander Very Rare Maggie Teenager In Pink Wardrobe and traveling Case. Maggie has her tagged bright coral pink pinafore in a patterned polka-dot Textured cotton, she has her crisp white tagged Sheer cotton striped blouse with three buttons down the back and decorative pearl accents down the front, puff sleeves and Peter Pan collar, Coral. Pink velvet bows for her hair, white cotton half slip with attached panties, satin with rose ribbon accents and Eyelet lace trim, Thigh high seamed stockings and black patent Mary Janes with buckles. Maggie is every bit a teenager! She has a black French poodle with leash she takes for walks, wearing her black velvet pedal pushers with pockets and decorative Jewel accents at her knees, snap in back, white taffeta blouse with lace accents down the Front and at the collar and cuffs, 3 buttons in front, Pink tagged gabardine swing coat, 2 buttons in front, white rayon socks and saddle shoes. Maggie is a beguiling dark brunette with green-blue eyes full brush lashes, pink cheeks and lipstick red lips, she is nicely strung and able to pose, no unpleasant odors, as with all vintage items some minor imperfections are to be expected, She is in Excellent condition! Madame Alexander Nurse Joanie beautiful. She is approx 33-34 inches tall. More like new though. So please use the pictures as part of the description. Look them over carefully.
