Madame Alexander Dolls

This lot includes 2 vintage Madame Alexander dolls from the 1950s, along with a Ginny wardrobe, clothes, and accessory pieces. The lot is in fair condition. The red-haired doll is complete, and the brunette doll has legs that have come off. Purse, basket, hanger and stand are included. This lot is perfect for collectors of vintage dolls or anyone who loves Madame Alexander dolls.

Vintage 1993 Madame Alexander 14″ “Diana from the Ann of Green Gable Series #1589 with trunk and wardrobe. The doll is a straight leg non-walker with rooted hair and sleeper eyes. She comes dressed in a one piece camisole and bloomers with stocking, and shoes. Her hair is braided and still in place. Her wardrobe consists of a two flowered pinafores, a pink gingham blouse and skirt, one white blouse, a party dress, one white petticoat, straw hat with ribbon and rose trim. Black stockings, flowered sash, pair of black velvet slippers, and a green grosgrain ribbon sash. None have ever been worn. Her case is metal with brass accents and is painted in the distinctive Madame Alexander pattern on the signature blue background with white trim. All clasps, hinges, latches and handles are there and in good working order. On the inside is a place to the store the doll and on the other is storage for her clothing that includes a brass hang bar, two cardboard drawers, and little hangers. I have a very pretty 14 Madame Alexander Bride Doll in excellent preowned vintage condition. This doll was manufactured I believe in 1952. The tag says’Wendy” but the reference book I have says “Margaret face dolls were made from 1948 until 1956 and the face was used during this period on dozens of different dolls so I would say she is a Margaret face. She is wearing a lace trimmed satin gown with rhinestones on the bodice which is a little wrinkled from storage and there are three small snags on the back of the dress see Pic. She has her original veil which has a few tiny holes from age See pic. #8 and the original flowers on the head band. She has her original wrist tag and a bracelet that was added and a bouquet that I added. There is a small spot on the back hem of the slip and she has a slight plastic smell. She has all her eyelashes (her eyes stick a little) and she is also wearing her original hose but they do have holes in both legs and her shoes are a little soiled from age. Her hair is a blonde color and is in its original set but a little messy in the back which is covered by her veil. She comes with a very well home made extra wardrobe that consists of four outfits and they come with vintage clothes hangers. This is a wonderful Madame Alexander Bride doll to add to your collection but I just want to make sure I mention everything which I think are minor for her age, as I don’t want any surprises to the new owner.
