Madame Alexander Dolls

I have a very pretty 14 Madame Alexander Bride Doll in excellent preowned vintage condition. This doll was manufactured I believe in 1952. The tag says’Wendy” but the reference book I have says “Margaret face dolls were made from 1948 until 1956 and the face was used during this period on dozens of different dolls so I would say she is a Margaret face. She is wearing a lace trimmed satin gown with rhinestones on the bodice which is a little wrinkled from storage and there are three small snags on the back of the dress see Pic. She has her original veil which has a few tiny holes from age See pic. #8 and the original flowers on the head band. She has her original wrist tag and a bracelet that was added and a bouquet that I added. There is a small spot on the back hem of the slip and she has a slight plastic smell. She has all her eyelashes (her eyes stick a little) and she is also wearing her original hose but they do have holes in both legs and her shoes are a little soiled from age. Her hair is a blonde color and is in its original set but a little messy in the back which is covered by her veil. She comes with a very well home made extra wardrobe that consists of four outfits and they come with vintage clothes hangers. This is a wonderful Madame Alexander Bride doll to add to your collection but I just want to make sure I mention everything which I think are minor for her age, as I don’t want any surprises to the new owner. Madame Alexander 18 Coco & Cleo Doll and Ultimate Wardrobe in box. Thank you for looking at this beautiful doll. The doll appears to be in amazing condition and absolutely everything is sealed and attached to the box. I did not take everything out to inventory it, but I’m pretty sure it’s all there. Upon further inspection the white and pink purse isn’t in mint condition. It seems it slipped out of its plastic bag and touched the box and left an imprint. Madame Alexander Anne of Green Gables Doll Trunk Wardrobe Set Extra Accessories. Beautiful Doll Set that was never used, just collected, box kept. The doll has it original packaging and comes with extra outfits hanging in the trunk along with another pair of black shoes, hat, schoolboard that may be wrapped in the pink tissue paper? (did not want to open as it original), collector registration/card and hanging tag on her wrist. Although plastic packages are not sealed, contents were not removed and photos show both sides of the plastic for viewing. (They appear how they were originally placed in the bag) The accessories can be found in the trunk 2 drawer compartments. The trunk is in great condition and comes with another original box that everything was stored in as well as protected. All may have normal wear due to age and storage. This is a beautiful collectible doll from a classic story – Anne of Green Gables. Like any used/new product, there may be wear & tear due to use, age, storage and cleaning/washing. The dolls flamboyant matching shoes and hats were legendary. Cissy was a trendsetter in fashion; from classic suits and coats to casual peddle pushers and sandals. People even collected the ads picturing her newest outfits. All year long, collectors waited for the newest fabulous fashions. She had formal dresses of chiffon and satin, including a special coronation dress. Beachwear like you would see on affluent ladies at the beach, and elegant evening wear such as one might see at the opera. Her cotton dresses were known for the wide, wide skirts no skimping on material here. The skirts stood out with the help of the exquisite bouffant slips often trimmed with yards of net and lace. Cissy had elegant underwear as well, as any well-dressed lady of her time would have worn. A girdle was offered to slim her already perfectly proportioned hips. Unlike the fashion ladies of today, Cissy was not so thin she was rounded but perfectly proportioned, making everything she wore look elegant and desirable. Madame Alexanders Cissy was the first modern fashion doll with an extensive wardrobe. This doll came from the original owner, who played with her very carefully and treasured her.
