She’ll make a wonderful playmate for your Patti PlayPal, Betsy, Linda & Sandy McCall and similar size dolls with her adorable looks and friendly features which include big round, working FLIRTY sleep eyes with original long, thick eyelashes, cute little “pug” nose, beautifully blushed cheeks and closed smiling mouth. 1959 on her neck, she has thickly rooted, shiny clean, long auburn red, layered hair with straight bangs with original hair ribbons (no hair trim and no missing plugs) swivel neck and joints at her shoulders and hips and wears adorable original (fully labeled) crisp, pink cotton play dress with pink collar and trim, original petticoat, panties, shoes and socks. Stands well, her joints work smoothly and she is in excellent, very clean, mint condition with no cracks, no ink marks or stains, no repairs, no fading and no odors as she is from a smoke free home. Here is darling Madame Aleexander “Betty” doll 30 inches tall. She has been restored. By us, Holland House Dolls and is in excellent condition. Betty has been washed and. Original wig has been cut off and. Carefully shaved so there is no old debris on the head. New vintage brown sausage. Curl wig has been added and glued. Wig is in great condition as shown. Eyes that have all lashes, great lids and they open and close. Arms move up and down. And do hold a pose. One arm has a repair, does not show, and is on the inside of the. Body so you do not see it and does not impair the operation of the doll. On the neck “Madame Alexander 1959″. Betty can sit by herself or stand up by herself. But belongs in the stand for safety. This is Madame Alexander’s Little Colonel, 1935. Because Madame Alexander did not have the rights to Shirley Temple, they made the BETTY face doll and called it Little Colonel, from the stories and movie. Very Hard to Find and only for a short period of time. I have included the article from Jan Foutz’s book on Hard to Find Madame Alexander’s Dolls. She is marked on her head Alexander. She is 14, all composition closed mouth with no crazing except the split at her eye as so many Compos do and vivid color. Her innocent smile is demure and loving. Her Red mohair wig is in it’s original set, beautiful and shiny. Her outfit is Tagged yellow organdy with red felt flowers attached. Very clean and strong with no deterioration. She has the attached bloomers to her slip, original shoes and socks. Her yellow bonnet is strong condition except for the ribbon. It was twisted around her neck hook and has some pulls and snags. She is strung tight and will hold a pose. The only negative to her is that her eye lens have crystallized. She is such a great doll, it didn’t bother me. She is a lovely doll and a treasure, for sure. Please view the photos as this is apart of the description. She is one of M. S dolls that are very hard to come by and would be a wonderful addition to the Mme Alexander collection. I do not return unless a major oversight has occurred. Thanks for viewing and good luck.
