Kins Doll 1953 SLW Taffeta Outfit Box Blonde Wendy. Madame Alexander Kins Doll 1953 SLW Taffeta Outfit Box Blonde Wendy. You are purchasing a Madame Alexander Kins Doll 1953 SLW with a Jumper Taffeta, Matching bonnet, and Taffeta Bloomers attached to an organdy blouse original socks and the shoes may be a later 50s alexander wendy doll shoes with a box and lid. She has a blonde color hair and green eyes. She is in pat smith book on page 21 as a 1953 or early 1954 walker. Her body does do the walker movement. She is in cute displayable condition. I do not know if her box is the correct box as it has no number or writing with information. Its just an alexander smaller doll box with someone’s handwriting saying old doll on it. Her outfit is gorgeous and her cheeks are a nice coloring they have an orangey blush which looks really nice with the blonde hair. The outfit I believe is the correct coloring an in between red and pink I do not think its faded as it appears that way in the book and if its faded all three pieces are exactly the same color in all areas so its an even which I think thats almost impossible so I do not believe its faded. The outfit has minor soiling and a few minor stains all shown in the close ups overall its crisp and nice coloring. The white has aging. The organdy has a few minor pin holes. By the waist seam of the organdy there is a very small separation you can display without mends it is shown in the close ups. There is a small pop stitch on the crotch seam but no holes. The elastic is good in the bloomers. I believe the snaps may of been replaced as they are circle not square. The socks one has a small hole and both have stretch at the top. The shoes I think are replaced with later 50s or early 60s alex kins shoes as they are the suede with smooth bottoms and not the special stitching they used in the early shoes. They have some wear mostly on the bottom. The lace trims minor pulls in areas few minor broken lace threads. The hat has a small edge tear on the ribbon as shown in the close ups. She has some rubs to her colored blush as shown and some minor rubs to the eye brows. She needs a minor cleaning especially under her neck I do not clean old dolls with fear of damaging. She has minor scratches mostly on her arms and legs and I think some of it is factory as I see this frequently on the kins and minor wear. She does have a few very tiny splits on where the parts meet. They are on both upper thighs, her hip, and one on the neck which is very hard to see as her head covers it. All shown in the close ups. Her wig is nice with only minor fly aways and minor looseness to the curls its mostly in a nice setting. She is a pale color but her make up pops out. Her eyes open and closed. I gave you close ups of everything. She is still a very displayable doll I just wanted to detail any flaw I saw. She is a cutie. Straight leg walker head. The 1954 Wendy heads have the same look and weight as those of the 1953 strung dolls. A creative person or doll hospital might find a way to use it for the earlier’Kins. Color is healthy and rich. Pale dots on one cheek. Lids are not scratched. Wig is glossy and full. In original factory set. Doll in good condition. Head a bit wobbly, but attached. Blond hair with chignon, that is a bit matted. Dress is lined has a straight skirt with an apron overlay. The apron has a gathered skirt along with a snap bow. Snaps on the dress could use some tightening. There may have been buttons covering the snaps , but no longer there. She has drop earrings, a ring, and rose pinned on the neckline v neck collar decoration. Dress could use some cleaning. One stocking has tares in foot. She is in very good condition but not perfect. She is 20 tall. She is missing an earring (her ears are both clean) and has a small age spot on her dress which I initially missed as it looked like the design on her dress just had a darker spot. Her hair is still factory set in the front and somewhat loose in the back. She has her sash as you can see in pic, both high heels and is wearing stockings. Her eyes close when she is laying down. Her eyes and eyelashes are beautiful. Her eyebrows appear to be as originally made. Her cheeks are still rosy from when she was made. There is a speck above her left eyebrow when facing her. Her head moves too easily back and forth (front to back) at least I don’t think she was made that way. However, one would not know such until she is picked up. I suspect whatever mechanism is inside has lost some elasticity. However, her head is still attached and sits where it should be. There is a rip on the seam under her right breast when facing her approx 1 in length. She has her fingerless gloves (if that is what they are called) and is wearing bracelets. Overall, she is in good condition and wanting a home who will cherish her. Her hair is obviously not blonde…. Picture shows accurate color. We have found a box and it will measure 28″ by 10″ by 10 between 3 and 4 1/4 pounds depending on packing materials. Head loose but attached-moves too easily forward and back. Her hair is color in pic not blonde. Hair much neater in the front. Beyond what is described here and above, she does seem to be in good condition. I did check legs, groin area, shoulders, arms, feet and no cracks were seen. I did not remove dress but I suspect her condition is consistent throughout. This Cissy has beautiful coloring. She is hard plastic with vinyl arms and I do see a “split in the bottom of one of her arms”. See picture Needs a little light cleaning of her arms. This is a strung 1953 first year Madame Alexander-kins Doll. She is in beautiful condition with original triple stitched blonde wig in original set, excellent high natural face coloring with brown brows, green brown eyes that open and close freely, black under lashes, bright rosy pink cheeks with no scuffs and bright red lips. Her body is in excellent tightly strung condition.
