A rarer doll in an unusual mid size. Should be in the home of a serious collector. ITEM SKU or Number. No seen crazing, hair intact. Tagged clothing, no wrist tag nor pin. NUMBER OF ITEMS OFFERED? Vintage/antique Jane Withers Madame Alexander doll circa 1937-39. Composition doll, open mouth, straight leg, working sleep eyes with eyelashes, painted single stroke brows and painted lower lashes. Jane Withers was a 1930s child actress, a contemporary to Shirley Temple. Madame Alexander did not secure the Shirley Temple endorsement, and instead opted to endorse Jane Withers. String has not been tightened but is stable, eyes make a soft thunk when they open and close. Inside her eyes may have age related color changes. Beautiful wig/hair like wine color. Original dress, bottom is wool plaid, top is white with short sleeve with a black vest which has white trim. I see no imperfections visible in her clothing. All under dress, socks and shoes are intact. Fingers are intact, did not remove shoes to check toes. No immediately seen crazing, cracks or other damage but I have not undressed the dol. This is a rarer sized, already rare doll. Overall good condition for her age with tagged dress. COMMENTS IN ALL OFFERS. This 25 inch hard plastic Winnie Walker doll was made by Madame Alexander in 1953. All original tagged outfit green background with pink roses throughout the dress , pink sleeves and collar with green rick-rack, matching pink felt hat, pink center snap shoes with cream socks which has holes in them, cream color slip with snaps in the back, and matching panties with a snap closure. The outfit has no tears, rips, or holes in it. Rosy red lips, full lashes, blue eyes, her head moves from side to side, painted eyebrows, glued on wig in its original set. There are no cracks on her body. The walking mechanism works great. A beautiful Cissy face. Her flaws are: her arms are faded due to sun light, her lashes stick close (but will open easily with help), and she has marks on her body I believe they are from a metal doll stand. Madame Alexander CISSY with Gorgeous Summer Dress circa 1956. Welcome to my listing! Here is honey blond Cissy in a lovely tagged drop waist dress. Cissy’s hair is in it’s original style and is neat and shiny with just a few little flyaways. I believe the ribbons are replacements, but she had them when I bought her many years ago and I have not taken them out or changed them. Her body and face are nearly perfect, with lovely blush, no cracks or splits, and nice eyelashes. She has the hang tag that was with her when I received her, I believe it is original. Dress has no holes or rips and has its tiny “rhinestone” pin on the center front. Cissy’s cancan slip has stretched elastic and does have some small holes, I have shown the largest of them in one of the pictures. My Cissy also wears her thigh high stockings and her black shoes. I have displayed Cissy, but she has now been in a box for quite a while in my doll room. She is a truly lovely doll, although not perfect or mint, you will have a hard time finding a nicer Cissy! This flawless beauty is jointed with working sleep-eyes, real upper lashes/painted lower lashes & eyebrows and the beautiful facial coloring that is a hallmark of Lia’s dolls. Her auburn hair is in the original tight braided set. She wears a tagged, light blue broadcloth dress with white eyelet lace detail on the front and continuing down the back to her waist. The eyelet lace has some mild discoloration in spots and was received like this. Her neckline & sleeves are trimmed in white lace. Two pink satin bows are set at her waist w/ matching bows holding her braids. On her head is a wonderful natural straw turned-up-brim “Margaret” hat with the original pink flowers on the front. Underneath she wears a one-piece full length white cotton lace-edged slip and unattached white cotton panties with pale blue satin ribbon & lace-work leg hems. Madame Alexander (Cissy Violet) 20 Doll circa 1950′s. This doll is dressed in a lavender. Butterfly print dress with purple velvet trim, a purple straw hat with flowers and a netting tie, lavender high heels, a small rectangular clear plastic box with flowers inside attached to her wrist, embossed cream petticoat, white under panties, nylon stockings, and she is wearing rhinestone earrings. ID tag on her underskirt says “Cissy” by Madame Alexander. She has jointed legs, her arms and neck move. She has blonde hair with blue eyes and dark eye lashes. I received her as a gift in 1959 and she sat on a shelf until 1965 at which time she was put away until recently when I took her out and decided to sell her. She was never played with and is in Good Condition however the the doll does not come with the original box.
