Vintage Madame Alexander 1937 McGUFFEY ANA DOLL Composition 17 ORIGINAL. Doll is in very good condition for 1937. She has minor crazing- original clothes – Sleepy eyes. Mark on back of neck- Madam Alexander Doll Co.

This is a 14 tall Madame Alexander composition Fairy Queen doll, made during the 1940′s. She has a blond mohair wig and brown eyes, and is wearing her original, tagged outfit. She has been played with. She has crazing on her face, legs, and arms, and smudged paint on the back of her right ankle. There is a small crack in the left side of her face. (which is hidden by her hair) Her net skirt has darkened, is ragged around the hem, and has several holes, there are holes in her wings, and the attached slip has a stain with several holes, as shown in the close-ups. Her socks are soiled, there is a mark on the back of her right shoe, and the heel is missing from the left. The Madame Alexander tag has a tear.

I had to look her over very closely figuring she must be repainted since she is in such good condition. I see no crazing on her paint is lovely. I did not want to attempt any cleaning but it looks like her face could be brighter with only a gentle touch. Her dress is tagged. Bloomers are a little discolored in the back. Ribbon on the hat and dress is original and faded. No damage tears or stains on the dress. Shoes are missing one sole and the snap on one shoe is almost disconnected. Eyes and lashes perfect. Heart shaped lips lovely!

She is strung tight at the hips, shoulders and neck. She is wearing a vintage untagged dress may or may not be original, gold slippers and vintage underwear may or may not be original. She has very little crazing. No cracks or odors. She has very nice clear bright brown eyes. Her dress has a couple of small cuts on it about a half inch long nice doll for her age. No breaks or cracks non smoking home no odors.

She comes as the picture her clothes are clean.

Lovely tagged dress – full human hair wig – “shattered” eyes – full lashes – small(1/4) crack above left eye – left hand shows some wear – loose stringing – spider crazing, heavier on arms, no cracks – very pretty.
