This is our special 1953 Madame Alexander-kin Wendy Kin Heavy Strung Doll that wears the rare and stunning Tagged County Picnic Outfit. She is the heavier weight doll with the face that is more full around the cheeks. She is marked ALEX on her back and has pretty triple-stitched blonde hair with lots of curls. We prefer not to undress her and have removed her from a personal storage case where we have kept her with notes. She is strung and can stand well with her arms loose. Her body, arms and legs have some marks and discoloration on them. She has a really pretty face with blue eyes that open and close nicely and lightly blushed cheeks. She is wearing a tagged County Picnic outfit that includes the beautiful pink check long gown that has satin straps and the off white jacket that goes over it and ties with ribbon through two white painted metal grommets on the front. The dress is in nice, clean condition, closing with square snaps. There is only one dot mark on the inside skirt near lower hem. There is a little wrinkling on back side of gown because of keeping her stored flat. The jacket has some light brown discoloration to it and there are some scratches on the white paint of the grommets. Her straw hat is in very nice condition with pretty flowers on it (chin strap was replaced). Her organdy slip and pantalettes are original to the outfit and are in nice condition but have a lot of discoloration at the waistlines and have been stitched to keep them up at some point (photos 9+10). She wears the earlier fuzzy black side snap shoes with fuzzy bottoms and more current white socks. Shoes are in good condition with wear on bottoms. She is really a very special Kin that has been cherished. Please do not hesitate to ask for any additional photos or closeups as we are parting with a family collection and want to make sure that you know as much as possible about her before purchasing her. This is outfit #376 of 1953 and one of the first 8 Wendys. She can be seen in Pat Smith’s World of Alexander-kins on Page 14. This Wendy is a SL- straight leg non walker. Her back is marked Alex. It is hard to believe she is 63 years old, and she is so precious. She is a blonde and her wig is triple-stitched. Her facial color is very nice and her sleep eyes work well. Wendy is wearing white organdy pantaloons, a half slip with lace at the bottom hem, white socks and white side-snap shoes. Her pink and white check cotton dress has small white rick-rack trim and it is very full. It has whit satin ribbon straps over the shoulders. She is wearing a white cotton pique jacket which has a flared peplum, cotton lace trim, and ties in front with white satin ribbon. There is a slight stain on the left side of the skirt which may come out. It hasn’t been laundered. I have shown it in the pictures. It isn’t too noticeable because of the fullness of the skirt. The hat is not original, but it is cuter than the original – at least I think so. It has a chin strap. I have included a picture of the original. Other than the stain on the skirt, I see nothing wrong – no rips, tears, holes, etc. She is in an Alexander box but it is not her original. Smoke and pet-free home.
