Madame Alexander 20 Cissy Doll Red/White HTF Organdy Polka Dots 1956 Dress. Up for sale is one of my Madame Alexander Cissy dolls, plus her dress & accessories. Doll has not been improved by me, Ive owned for approximately 10 years. I see no cracks or repairs, she has blue/green eyes & lush hair which would look superb if fixed right. Because Im afraid of doing damage, Ive never done. Wig is tight on head. Alexander on back of head. She may have been restrung her left leg, to me, looks a tad longer, but maybe she needs new stringing, although she poses well for me & legs bend at appropriate places- hips knees. Just looked & string is white so guess she is restrung. Her left leg seems to go a little forward when standing – which now I would attribute to the restringing. Just looked at my other Cissys & their left leg looks a tad longer also. Her paint on her body has some lighter spots & inside of both legs have what to me looks like a line or rub. Her eyes clack when opening eyes, & Im pretty sure at one time I thought her eyes needed replacing, adjusting something, because even though I cant get get them to sink with eye lashes in head, now, it did it in the past 5-6 years ago. Shes been posed & dressed In my closet for her life with me. Eyes are opening & closing well now. The red & white organdy polka dot dress was made in 1956. Described as dress of sheer dotted organdy with typical shirtwaist construction. Features a built in taffeta camisole trimmed with ungathered Val lace. Supposed to have belt loops. One may still be partly there, & supposed to have red ribbon sash (easy enough to replace) but I always used this very versatile red plastic belt. The hat & purse are Robert Originals & compliment the dress, at least to me it does. She also had on (& is included) a full cotton slip & panties. Her shoes are black with white straps, (the dress originally came with red), & a fluffy slip I was told to be original, but Im not sure myself. Her red purse has a red polka dot bow which complements her dress. The dress has a couple brown spots on left sleeve, a funny repair on outside of right sleeve, a tiny hole on left back by waist. This has always been my favorite of the Cissy dresses & Im glad it will go to someone who appreciates not only these dolls but the beautiful clothes that were designed for her. Oh yes you can see the tag part that was sewn in & cut off on the bank of the dress. Who doesn’t love classic Swiss polka dots? Cissy circa 1956 in her original glory. This version of the organdy polka dot dress is harder to find. There’s a gorgeous red sash accentuating her waist. Tosca blonde hair in original bob set, and stunning peaches & cream complexion. She has such gorgeous, delicate features. Check out her brows! Her sparkly, clear blue green eyes still have her perfect original lashes. Her creamy complexion, with original, high color blush, eye shadow, and satiny red lips is all original and artfully painted!! She is free of splits & cracks. Her stringing is perfect for posing beautifully in any outfit you desire. She can even stand by herself if you balance her just right! Her arm and body color still match beautifully, so she can wear those revealing outfits without a problem. She’ll come to you in her original MA dress, slip, panties, seamed stockings and red high heeled sandals (elastic is stretched as usual, but cleverly twisted they work just fine). Here is a VHTF Sun Dress for Cissy in NEAR MINT CONDITION!! These sun dresses are so difficult to come by and are so popular with collectors. 2 variations of Sun Dresses were made for Cissy using this fabulous fabric. It is a soft sateen cotton with a nice sheen. The color and size of the polka dots are a very iconic look for the mid-century. CONDITION: This dress is NEAR MINT. It has NEVER been laundered and it has not yellowed. The rick rack and bows retain their RED color and there is no bleeding to the dress. The faux buttons in the front are all present as well. The tag is nice and bright too. This the the exact dress that was photographed on page 62 of the Cissy! The only flaw I would like to point out is that the thread has faded on the shoulder bows. The coloring is nice and bright…. The close-up photos appear more washed out… I struggle with detail photos and retaining the vibrancy in the photos… The coloring is VIBRANT. A GREAT PIECE TO ADD TO YOUR CISSY COLLECTION. Please look over the photos carefully and READ the. Don’t think it has been washed. It’s worth restoring. Welcome to my auctions! Cissy is 20 tall with hard plastic body and soft vinyl arms with jointed elbows. Her knees are also jointed for posing. She is lovely in her white nylon organdy dress with felt red polka dots. It has puffed sleeves and a red grosgrain sash tied into a bow in back. Under the skirt is a white nylon taffeta half slip with tiny red bow and matching undies with red bow trim. Also tight new nylons and red Cissy high heels. She is carrying a red purse with white nylon Cissy gloves and her only jewelry is her rhinestone bracelet. She wears a red facinator hat of netting, velvet bow, and feathers fashioned by Richards Originals. Her hair is a deep auburn color and is pulled back on each side with cluster of curls on top of her head, The rest of her hair is pulled back to her neck into curls and is tied with a red ribbon. Her face is lovely with nice cheek blush, brows, full lashes, and red mouth. Her eyes are clear and a greenish blue color. This is an original tagged vintage Madame Alexander Cissy dress from 1957. The dress is green taffeta with cotton polka dot sleeves, collar, and bow accent. Tagged Cissy inside the center back seam. All snaps are present and secure. No stains in taffeta, holes, or tears. The cotton sleeve and bow fabric does show spotted aging as is common on these dresses. Taffeta is nice and crisp. There is some crinkling to the taffeta fabric finish. The photos pick this up. Overall a very fresh looking lovely nice dress for your Cissy doll. MADAME ALEXANDER BEAUTIFUL CISSY 20 TALL DOLL – 1958 NAVY POLKA DOTS. Take a good look at the pictures and my written info. This is a Beautiful Cissy doll and outfit is tagged…. I added some jewlery to her hands… No cracks in legs or arms… Don’t see the cracks in hip areas where legs go inside, but I think way up very very high there is somewhat a tiny crack, very hard to see…. But this has been on the leg like that since I first bought her so many years ago…. Since I have had her for a very long time, I finally took her out from a truck, and noticed her slip has some threads in the elastic… Lower price to help it sell… Still a WONDERFUL DOLL..
