It’s Cissy’s Favorite Time Of The Year! If there’s one thing Cissy LOVES to do, it’s dressing up in festive finery for the Holidays! One of her very favorite party dresses, she loves to twirl in this beautiful taffeta strapless cocktail dress. A gorgeous green & red plaid with strokes of gold & silver threaded throughout, it’s a dress worthy of a grand Holiday gala. An attached black crinoline provides the flare… A black taffeta bow accents the waist at the left, and closure is at the back with two snaps. Underneath Cissy is wearing new taffeta lace-trimmed panties & vintage hosiery… She has slipped her feet into little black bow-trimmed sandals, and has chosen some pretty red rhinestone jewelry to accent her ensemble. Tying it all up with a sparkly lucite bag & a fabulous black fascinator, turn heads she does! Beautiful Cissy has lovely features & coloring; her blush has been refreshed. She has a wonderful thick auburn wig which features rolled bangs & falls in curls just above her shoulders. She had one small high hip (entirely inside her body cavity) separation which has been professionally repaired. Very beautiful set of 1935 Madame Alexander 7 Dionne Quintuplets with molded hair and painted faces. Their arms, legs, and heads are all jointed. The stringing is nice and tight. The dolls are not at all “floppy”. They come in their original wicker basket with peach satin bedding, pillow and mattress pad. Each is wearing one of 5 matching satin peach one piece outfits with crocheted lace trim. Also included are 5 flannel robes and 5 bibs embroidered with the Quints names Emelie, Yvonne, Cecile, Marie, and Annette and a vintage white and pink blanket. Each doll is marked “ALEXANDER” on the back of both the head and body. These have been lovingly stored for many, many years in the home of the original owner (my mother-in-law). Not in the hot attic or in the cold damp basement but always with her. There are no odors of any kind. She says the dolls, basket, outfits, pillow and mattress pad all originally came together. Later she added the flannel robes and blanket, and just a few years ago she bought the newly made bibs with their names for them. The dolls are in nearly excellent condition with no composition crazing. One doll has some rough composition on her arm and shoulder. They do have a few paint mars and scratches, but not many. One has a reddish brown tiny spot about 1/16th inch on the back of her leg. There are also a few dimples, or indents that seem to be marks left behind from the manufacturing process. Please use the magnifying photo feature to see their condition and if you would like more pictures than I could fit in please let me know. The wicker of the basket is in pretty sturdy shape for its age. The lid is no longer attached, and the leather strap fasteners no longer work, but the handle on top is fine. She even saved the few little pieces of wicker that have snapped off. They are in a tiny baggie inside the basket. The pink satin lining is trimmed with white lace but the satin has some water stains on it. This set was played with she says. The pillow and mattress pad have some tiny holes. The 5 peach outfits are all in Very Good condition with no holes, stains, or tears.. But they do have a little minor fraying at seam edges. The bibs are brand new and crisp and have never even been tied on the dolls. The flannel robes are also good but one has some spots on the arm that I didn’t try to wash but it looks like they will come out with a light soak. The yellow robe has a little unraveling at the back of the neck. Of the 2 books included, one, copyrighted in 1935 has many pictures of the quints as babies, and gives much information about the babies growth and how they were raised. The other book, copyrighted in 1938 shows pictures of the quints playing at toddler and preschool ages set to popular nursery rhymes of the period. Both books are in nice condition. They have wear marks on the cover, binding and edges, but the pages are not brittle and there is no musty smell. I have done my best to describe everything but it is always possible that I may have missed something. If you have any questions please ask. I will be happy to describe further or send more photos. I have other doll items listed. The item “Madame Alexander DIONNE QUINTUPLETS set ORIGINAL basket bedding, dresses robes &” is in sale since Wednesday, June 01, 2016. Brand/Artist: Madame Alexander Dionne Quintuplet Dolls
This group includes a darling 1954-55 Guardian Angel, the dress and hat for Day in the Country #350, “Mambo”, Ballerina outfit with the correct head piece and two wedding dresses. The angel doll is in good condition, she has lovely all original coloring and beautiful brown hair. She is a really pretty doll but does have two flaws. She has a little color loss in one small area on her right cheek and she has a seam separation in between her legs. The seam separation does not hinder her walking or standing but it is there so I wanted to mention it. Her outfit is in very good condition with no stains, holes, tears or odors. Her wings are so darling and are a pretty pink and her plastic halo is in good condition with nice stretch to the elastic. Under her gown she has on a long slip, bloomers and foil shoes all of which are in good condition with no issues. The day in the country dress is beautiful with vibrant colors and no issues. The hat is in good condition and the flowers are beautiful but on one side where the flowers are stapled in it is a little weak. The ballerina outfit is very pretty with no issues besides the ribbon ties showing some wear. The headpiece is still in good shape with one small break to the plastic but it does not hurt the integrity of the piece and it still fits nicely on the head. The mambo dress is in good condition with really vibrant colors in the skirt and a beautiful pink shawl. The only issue is that the fuzz on the bodice has worn off, but it is covered by the shawl and does not distract in the least. Lastly the two brides dresses are in fair to good condition and could look great with a little restoration. All together this is a nice lot and beautiful doll that is sure to please. Please check out all my wonderful Alexander, Ginny, and Nancy Ann dolls this week. Please take a look at all the pictures as they are an important part of the description. Composite dolls manufactured in the 1930s by the American company Madame Alexander, depicting Marie, Emilie, Cecile, Annette, and Yvonne Dionne. Each approximately 11 inches. I have had these dolls most of my life. My Dad was an antique dealer and he brought me home these dolls when I was about 3 or 4, sometime prior to 1970 I did play with them, carefully, and I loved them. When they lie down their eyes close and then open when they sit back up. I always liked that. They have little leather shoes with real snaps! Only 2 of them have their shoes, and only one still has her socks, the other three have lost theirs. Each one has a different colored little dress with matching bonnet. These are all present. They also still have their sweet undergarments. The green dress looks a little torn, the others seem o. They are delicate and fragile so I don’t want to handle them too much. In the box with them were also several dolls dresses, approximately 9 or 10, including two tutu like ones. These are all in rough wrinkled shape and need refreshening. I think some of them could be greatly improved with proper bleaching and washing, (especially the white linen ones). I will include these with this listing with the 5 large dolls. Please note, they are in rough condition. These come in little onesie sacks. This listing is only for the set of 5 larger, 11 dolls. I have kept them stored carefully in a box for years and its time they find a new home where they can be loved again. Please see my other listings for the set of five 7 dolls. I think these are pretty good for their age and fact that they are dolls which people play with. The head on the one in the pink dress is a little loose, but the others seem o. They are so cute! The dresses are wrinkled and have some stains from age. The green dress has a tear. Welcome to my closet. I aim to offer gently used clothes and other interesting items at reasonable prices, providing quality & value. I strive to provide excellent customer service. All sales are final.
