This pretty vintage Margie/Marjorie by Belle Doll & Toy Co. Is 20 inches tall and was made to compete with Cissy and other 20-inch fashion dolls of the late 1950s. She is all hard plastic except for her soft vinyl face. She’s often called a Cissy look-alike. She appears to be a walker, as her legs move forward and backward like a walker doll, but her head does not turn. She has joints at the head, shoulders, hips and knees. Her face coloring is original, and her blue eyes open and close well. All lashes are present. She has pierced ears and wears her original pearl earrings (no green ear). Her dark blonde hair is rooted and in its original style. Her fingernails and toenails have their original paint. She wears a wonderful dress of vintage fuschia faille (so pretty) done in a simple high-fashion style with dropped waist that is banded and accented with a fabric bow. Plain neckline that opens toward the bust, dolman sleeves with small inside openings. The skirt is box pleated and hangs so nicely. The bodice is fully lined in fuschia taffeta, and four square snaps close the back of the dress. It was custom made by “Brambletwig” and is tagged. A real work of art in my opinion. The hat was custom made especially for this dress by rtrorich (Richard Originals). It is a bucket style with vintage fuschia flowers and raspberry-colored veiling, which can be worn over the face or pushed up. Under the dress, Margie wears a vintage Premier slip that was modified somewhere along the way to fit wider hops like Margie has. It has a pretty satin inset in the back that opens all the way down with snaps. The elastic straps are just a tad long, but stay up fine. A petticoat could be added for more fullness, but I liked the look with less fullness to show off the pretty pleats of the skirt better. Margie wears vintage pink nylon panties and vintage seamed stockings with no issues save a tiny pinhole at the top of the left one. She wears vintage high heels with black bases and replaced elastic in fuschia. Other accessories include a three-strand vintage pearl necklace (which I think was actually a lady’s bracelet) and vintage nylon gloves in dark pink. The lace trim is more reddish in color. They are in good condition. The 20-inch Belle Margie/Marjorie dolls are not easily found, especially in good condition. Her wonderful costume was actually made for Cissy, but I liked it even better on Margie, so she has worn the outfit in my glass doll cabinet for quite some time. Downsizing now, so will be offering some of my favorites as I can bear to part with them. My home is non-smoking, and I thank you for viewing this listing. This beautiful 20 Cissy was played with very gently and has been in storage for a few decades. She is wearing her original blue taffeta dress with matching white taffeta coat. Her shoes are original also, but the elastic has stretched out. She has a few scratches on her backside, shown in the pictures. Even with that, Cissy is elegant! Here today is an elegant all original Queen Elizabeth Cissy doll made by Madame Alexander in 1956. Cissy is wearing her beautiful tagged ivory ribbon patterned satin fabric Queen Elizabeth gown closing in the back with 5 original intact snaps. The skirt portion of the gown is unlined, but she wears her original ivory taffeta hoop slip with attached panties for the added fullness. Attached to the gown is the original blue moire taffeta sash decorated with rhinestones, a medallion with ruby stone, silver shoulder circlet and a pearl circlet attached at the waistline. Cissy is wearing her original fingerless ivory gloves with 3 gold tone stretch bracelets, 2 with clear rhinestones and 1 with clear and ruby rhinestones and her faux diamond ring. She is also wearing her correct original pearl and clear rhinestone earrings and her graduated faux pearl necklace. To complete Cissy’s beautiful outfit she is wearing her seamed nylon stockings and her gold tone elastic strap high heels. Cissy is wearing her ash blonde wig in its beautiful original set. Her hair appears to have never been combed still retaining the hair net on the bottom back curls. She has a gorgeous painted face with beautiful blushed cheeks, stroked brown brows, painted brown lower lashes and tiny red painted lips. Cissy has crystal clear open and close blue/green eyes with her complete full set of hair eyelashes. Although Cissy is free of any unwanted marks anywhere on her she could use a very light sponge bath on her arms and hands. She has the original blush on the back of her hands and knees. I don’t believe she has any joint issues, she can stand and pose on her own. She has all of her fingers and toes and does not have any split or cracked joints. Although Cissy and her Queen outfit are gorgeous that display beautifully the outfit does have some issues. The fingerless gloves have a couple of small holes covered by the bracelets, one of the bracelets has been re-inforced with a gold thread in one area (does have some weak areas), a small hole in the attached panties as shown in the pictures, the hoop slip needs to be reshaped but otherwise great, and the gown has a couple of spots on the skirt portion near the back that blend into the gathers that appear they can probably be cleaned. The sash and gown need to be dry-cleaned as I can not rule out the possibility of being exposed to smoke at some time before I acquired her. I believe I have covered pretty much everything about this absolutely gorgeous Cissy doll and her beautiful Queen outfit but if you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will respond ASAP. This is a fabulous strung 1953 first year Madame Alexander-kins Doll. She is MIB condition with original triple stitched auburn wig in original set, excellent high face coloring with brown brows, light blue eyes that open and close freely, black under lashes, bright rosy pink cheeks and bright red lips. Her body is in excellent tightly strung condition. Alex is wearing her tagged organdy dress, matching undies and slip, blue top stitched side snap fuzzy bottom shoes with white rayon socks. Here is an elegant vintage Madame Alexander Cissy doll that was made in 1957 as the Pink Bridesmaid. She has beautiful features and has lightly refreshed blush. Each hip had a very high, small separation. These were professionally repaired. Cissys gorgeous thick auburn wig is in a formal style that is pulled back and up, caught in her signature brass barrette and then falls into a cluster of curls at the nape of her neck. Her eyes are a crystal clear blue. She has no splits, cracks or odors. Cissy comes to you in her pink taffeta bra accented with a little rose and her lacy tap pants. She love diamonds, gold, and roses (in that order) and will be arriving with her diamond earrings (exactly like her original ones). She also will have a pink diamond ring with a matching bracelet, her pink boa, and her special rose high heels that have a pink diamond that sparkles deep inside each rose. Best of all, Cissy will have a wonderful little corsage purse that contains a tiny portrait of the most beautiful thing ever herself!
