Vintage 1950s Madame Alexander 20 Cissy Doll Blue Eyed Blond in Tagged Queen Costume. Pretty Nineteen-fifties Madame Alexander 20 Teenage Cissy doll in an original costume. Cissy is made of hard plastic with vinyl arms. She is jointed at the neck, shoulders, hips and knees. She is strung tight so she can hold a pose. Her knees and hips bend easily. She has pierced ears. Her elbows are not jointed. She has working clear blue sleep eyes with thick lashes, light painted lower lashes, single stroke eyebrows, tiny amounts of upper eye shadow, pouty lips, lightly blushed cheeks and no body blush. Her queen costume is in good condition and includes the gold brocade gown with medals and blue satin sash, one glove, a bracelet, very full, layered petticoat, hosiery, white elastic heels. Missing her other glove and panties. On the back of her head, Cissy tag on the gown. Fair, played with condition. This doll has some flaws: eyes are turning green from blue, some lashes missing and skin tone is blotchy. Her good points are that she appears to be substantially original because I found other dolls dressed in the Queen costume who also had pierced ears and arms without bending elbows. Her other good point is that her legs pose and bend easily – rare – legs are usually stiff. Cissy has working sleep eyes that may be turning green, full brush lashes with some lashes missing in the middle on both eyes. Her eyebrows look like they might possibly be re-painted – just not sure. Wig is thick, in original set with a lot of fly-aways, ends are frizzy and wig fabric is showing under the pony tail. Perfect fingers and toes. But no blush on the backs of the hands or knees. Skin tone is clean but blotchy and not even toned. Her arms and head are darker and her torso is lighter than the rest of her. Arms are firmly attached and pose well. Head is firmly attached, sits upright and poses well. Hard plastic body is clean and free of chips, chews or deep scratches. No crotch split, one repaired knee crack and one small 1/4 hip crack. Knee and hip joints bend nicely. Costume is in fair to good condition. Gown closes with working square snaps and has a “wear tear” at the base of the V of the neckline. It also has a seam rip on one side of the bodice that does not go through to the lining – so it is hard to see. One glove is missing. Elastics on bracelet and shoes are stretched out. Vintage 1950s Madame Alexander 20 Cissy Doll Blue/green Eyed Brunette. Very pretty Nineteen-fifties Madame Alexander 20 Teenage Cissy doll for you to dress. Cissy is made of hard plastic with vinyl arms. She is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. She is strung tight so she can hold a pose. She does not have ANY cracks in her plastic. She has working blue/green sleep eyes with thick lashes, that are turning green. Nicely painted lower lashes, multi-stroke eyebrows, upper eye shadow, pouty lips and lightly blushed cheeks and body. Brunette Saran or Dynel wig mostly in the original set but looks stubby on the ends instead of the usual Alexander tight curls. Her knees and hips bend nicely using care and two hands. On the back of her head. Good, lightly played with condition. Has clear, working sleep eyes with full brush lashes. Her eyes are turning yellow. The whites only slightly but the light blue of the iris is turning yellow making her eyes appear on the green side. Nicely painted original facial features. Wig is thick, bangs are original but bottom is stubby like it was cut. Perfect fingers and toes. Skin tone is clean and even toned except for her arms which are vinyl and a darker color. She has one light stain on the back of one arm. Arms are firmly attached and bend nicely. Hard plastic body is clean and free of chips, chews or deep scratches. She is an original mid 1950s MADAME ALEXANDER 20 inch CISSY doll with an original violet dress with tag (which i didnt see to many of in my searches) , she also comes with a slip which is a bit too large for her so not original. Beautiful blue sleepy eyes with long lashes , jointed elbows and knees , wigged hair and is marked ” ALEXANDER ” on the lower back if her head indicating most likely during the TONY SARG era at company. She has dark brunette hair and is made of hard plastic with ” high heeled ” feet. She will be needing a professional cleaning (see pics) from somebody with more experience than I have. This Doll is very rare and beautiful! I have never seen a more beautiful doll for her age. She is in her original state. I don’t think she has been touched at all. She looks like she was never played with. Her body is so clean. She has very little crazing or cracking. She has no lifting at all. Her eyes are crystal clear and perfect condition all her eye lashes are there. Very rare for a doll her age. Her clothes are custom made for her from vintage Cotton organdy dotted swiss fabric. This fabric is so hard to find these days and very very expensive! The lace is also vintage hand dyed swiss very very expensive! Her booties were hand crocheted to match the vintage French satin ribbon used on her bonnet. They were made by an original Madame Alexander dress slip and bloomers pattern. Her bracelet was also hand made for her! She will always have my heart with her. I love this doll she is truly a Victorian Treasure! I call her Princess Charlotte because she looks just the Royal baby Princess Charlotte. This is a One Owner Cissy and she was never played with. Cissy is 20 tall, made of hard plastic except for her arms which are vinyl and she is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. She has beautiful light blonde hair that is a little mushed in the back from laying down for 61 years. She is wearing a tagged black lace chemise with rhinestones and flowers, seamed stockings and mules with flowers. Her hands and knees are blushed and her beautiful blue eyes are clear with full lashes. She has perfect rosy cheeks and red lips. She is a first year Cissy from 1955. She does come in her original box which is marked Cissy, 2100, blonde and blue. The box is not in great shape, however it is original and did keep her safe for 61 years.
