You are looking at a 20″- 21″ Madame Alexander modern Cissy named “Cairo”. I bought her new from a store. When I first got her I changed her clothes and her long gold gloves left a small ring on the top of both of her arms. It hasn’t been a problem for me but maybe if she is dressed in something sleeveless it might bother you. I have had her stored in her box for years and I just dressed her in her original outfit for this listing. I never thought I would get rid of her but I have to downsize. She is a very beautiful and unique doll with her tan skin and blue eyes. Her outfit is awesome but I did get rid of the gloves. She will come to you in her original box with accessories and COA. Vintage Madame Alexander Cissette 801 w/ original box, outfit and clothing as pictured. I think I received her about 1958 before Barbie came out. She is in her original box and wearing her original outfit of pink slip, panties, stockings and pink shoes with flower and rhinestone. Also the gold purse and shoes were original. She may have actually been wearing the gold shoes. The other items I collected later. THe 2 dresses have the Cissette vintage tag. The pink robe has an Alexanderkins tag. I believe the 2 hats in front may be newer and the 1 in back vintage. Don’t know if they are Alexander or not. Note; there are some smudges on her face in the pic in the box; They wiped off; look at the pic with her eyes open for a more accurate representation of her face. We offer for your consideration a lovely 14 unmarked Maggie doll with incredibly bright and unclouded eyes. Her eyes are highlighted with totally intact molded eyelashes, as well as individually painted lashes on the bottom and sides of her eyes. Her face, torso, and limbs are hard plastic with five pieces. She is well strung to pose beautifully, but her head and arms are somewhat loose. Her arms will not hold a pose. Her head does not droop, but her head and arms could someday soon need restringing. — Her body and limbs are exceptionally clean, undamaged, and free of issues, or blemishes. She is a sleep eye doll, and her eyes open and close easily. Her wig appears factory fresh, or close to it, with thick hair pulled back into lovely curls held by her original gold tone barrettes and gold lame bows on both sides. Her coloring is a matte suntanned appearance with lightly blushed cheeks and the prettiest and fullest lips. Her eyebrows are nicely defined. —She is a beauty from the original owner’s showcase. This doll was kept in the family of a vast doll collection from the 1930s through the 1970s. Her hair is full with no thinning areas. Her face, body, and limbs are close to flawless. Her tagged Madame Alexander Maggie dress is exceptionally clean, fresh, and bright; the gold lame trim, belt, and buttons are intact and absolutely beautiful. LOOK at that face!! People who see her in my dining room remark HOW PRETTY she is and they are RIGHT. She is a Mdme ALEXANDER’JANIE’ doll, which I believe was the precursor to IDEAL’S Patti Play Pal doll, which was cute but definitly not as PRETTY as Janie. She was made in 1959. AND in remarkable condition considering. This doll is marked on back of neck. See photo: Alexander 36 1959. PLEASE see all the photos to appreciate this stunner! I think this is the Prettiest face on any play pal type doll I have ever seen , much prettier than the Nurse JOANIE version. And she is not to be confused with that same size ALEXANDER JOANIE/Nurse Joanie, this is called JANIE type. She is very clean, has gorgeous rare DARK brown hair that positively sets off those big blue green sleep eyes. An ebayer sent me a photo of HER Janie doll with blonde hair same pretty face. The original dress is similar in color but SHORTER than this one and had a pinafore. No discoloring on body or limbs, extremely minor if any scuffs, she looks marvelous! Arms have been restrung but as usual one arm is a bit looser due to wear inside hardware, but they both stay UP and DOWN when posed. To prevent damage to arm hooks– they are pretty tight but not overly tight stringing. I have noticed one arm being loose is a typical age related issue with these dolls. The rooted hair is full and has some trimming on back–that may have been factory trimmed or trimmed by the owner when she was young, so hard to tell and she doesn’t remember. The hair can be pulled into two pigtails, or pulled back at sides etc. At the moment she has two turquoise plastic flower barrettes holding back the front hair back just a bit. Her hair is VERY thick, has been cleaned and detangled completely. The hair clips are authentic in style and look wonderful with that AMAZING vintage dress. The tags on dress are for a vintage 1960s POLLY FLINDERS size 4T. If it was ever worn it was very gently worn! It is 50% cotton, 50% polyester. No rips or stains and has wonderful smocking and flower detail. Since doll owner could not find original clothes, we painstakingly searched out ALL new but period authentic items, from dress to underwear! She is wearing White cotton hanes brand new briefs. Her sleep eyes work, but I noticed her left eye is a bit lazy in comparison to right but with a little movement it seems to get in line. Her new socks have frilly trim. With proper posing of her shoes she can stand independently, see pics. Of course being 3 ft tall she will be in a box that is 38 tall to allow a bit of headroom. These dolls are straight from the original owner (my mother), who received them as a gift in 1936, when she was 4. Have shoes for all 5, and 3 of 5 bonnets. This is a One Owner Cissy and she was never played with. Cissy is 20 tall, made of hard plastic except for her arms which are vinyl and she is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. She has beautiful light blonde hair that is a little mushed in the back from laying down for 61 years. Her hair needs a shampoo and set , her gloves and stockings need to be cleaned, I accidentally broke one of her bracelets so it needs to be repaired, her dress is missing 2 snaps in the back, the gown also has some age spots, her panties and slip have loose elastic, and she has a small knee split on her left side.
