Adorable all original Madame Alexander “Tiny Betty” composition doll from the Birthday series, representing March in her yellow organza tagged dress and bonnet. She measures about 7 inches tall and I’d say that she is in very good condition for her age. I’m offering her exactly as I found her. Her stringing is a bit tight but I believe it is original. For your consideration is a pretty auburn-haired Madame Alexander Cissy doll from circa 1956-57. She is the painted version and is in very good vintage condition. The front is white lace with blue trim; the back is done in light blue nylon tricot. The snaps look exactly like the ones used on Jane Miller clothing, but there is no tag indicating that it is from Jane Miller. It is factory made, though, by some doll clothing company active during the Cissy era. Has a sweet little rosette at the bustline. The blue ribbon straps show some wear and seem a little long, but that allows the teddy to not be too tight in the crotch. The rest of the teddy is excellent. Cissy is wearing a pair of Doll Secrets “Better than Vintage” seamed stockings and vintage blue Dolshoe high heels with rhinestone detail. These shoes are very hard to find in blue. She is also wearing pearl drop earrings and a pearl necklace with box clasp. Cissy is 20 inches tall and is made of hard plastic with vinyl arms. She has joints at the head, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. There are no splits or cracks in her hard plastic or any issues with her vinyl save a very small pin prick on her right forearm. I think this is visible in one of the pictures if you enlarge it. Cissy has some original blush remaining on her hands and knees and very little, if any, on her face. However, the background color on her face is so nice I never wanted to have blushing added. Her eyes are predominantly blue with maybe a “tad” of green. Her brush eyelashes are the original ones. Her eyes open and close well, but if she has been in a lying position for any length of time, she might require a little shake to open them. Her wig has had a professional styling in the past, and she has developed some fly-aways over time. If you removed the present tie that is in place and re-tied the curls, you could bring in some of the loose hairs. There is a little spot on the left side of her wig where just a little bit of the wig cap is showing. The auburn color is such a nice shade. Her stringing is good; joints work well; arms are tight. Cissy has some neck rubs that I would call “light” and have included a picture. They are pretty much all the way around, but have never been an issue with me. Just be aware that they are there and may be able to be removed. There are also the typical light rubs at the inside of her legs at the top. Hardly any painted Cissy dolls escaped developing those. This Cissy is very easy on the eyes and would look great in any tagged outfit or otherwise. She even looks good on display as she is. A rare hard plastic walker doll in a harder to find tagged blue color gown rather than the more common pink gown. Even triple if mint condition. Margaret face hard plastic that has no unwanted odors. Blue sleep eyes that have a hint of brown on one side of each eye ball, has all her lashes. There is a faded rub at the bridge of the nose, cheeks are rosy and lips are red, all with no rubs. Auburn red hair that looks to be in the original set. Front of hair can be picked back to life as it was pushed back by someone sticking a hair pin there, perhaps to hold down the hat. Madame Alexander New York hat box with good elastic and 2 hair curlers inside. Tagged gown has a faded gold spot, a bit bigger than a pin head size, on right side, as pictured. Violet color sash has a few small faded spots in back that are hardly noticeable, as pictured. Hoop half slip has a snap at waist, hoop is bent, though can be gently put back to shape with time. Slip has no stains or holes. Cotton, lace trimmed underwear with snap at waist, nylon stockings and black, velvet textured center snap shoes. All in good condition. Straw hat could use a little work as the crown is mostly separated from the rim and a few small triangle cuts on the back edge rim. Sits on top of the head without showing the split. Still retains the original flower appliques and netted ties. Sewn in tag reads “Madame Alexander”. This is a gorgeous and rare set. All pieces are here, overskirt, hoop skirt, shirt, mannequin, and doll. There is a slight mark on the top front of the mannequin, see pics, doesnt show when the shirt is on it. The underskirt on the main part has an area where the color has faded, not terribly noticable unless youre looking for it. From a non smoking, pet friendly home, comes with the original box.
