Madame Alexander Dolls

Here’s a charming vintage doll from the Madame Alexander Glamour Girl Series. She’s a walker doll and has the adorable Maggie face. She’s in very good condition and comes wearing her original tagged blue flowery print cotton dress with matching bonnet, hooped slip with attached panties, white lace gloves, hose, shoes and a beautiful additional vintage petticoat. She also comes carrying her MA black hatbox which is in excellent condition with the authentic Madame Alexander Fashion Academy medallion attached. Inside the box are the tiny original pink comb and hair curlers. The wire in her hoop skirt is somewhat bent. Her lace bonnet has 2 of the original 5 rosebuds. They show some wear. Her dress is in very nice condition with perhaps some slight fading. Also, the elastic in the sleeves has relaxed. One of her shoes has a strap that’s worn but the snap still works and the shoe stays on fine. This doll has a darling face with lightly blushed cheeks, red lips and eyeshadow. Her blue eyes open and close and all of her thick dark lashes are intact. Her gorgeous auburn wig is in its original style. Her walker mechanism works well and she holds poses perfectly. Up for sale is this 18 vintage Madame Alexander Blue Danube from the Glamour Girl series. Her tagged gown is unwashed with bright vivid coloring. Her original lace Bonnet is still a lovely white, with black velvet ribbon and trimmed with lovely pink roses. She wears her original white gloves and has her black and gold Madame Alexander Hat box, both in excellent condition. Her curls are shiny, tight and still in original set. Her coloring is very nice, her eyes are beautiful, with THICK and long lashes. However, her eyes stick sometimes and don’t always close easily when she lays down. It may be an easy fix, however I l will leave that to her new owner to decide what they want to do, or not do about that. Her hoop-slip and attached panties are white, and appear to have been washed. Her original netting stockings and black shoes look very nice too. She doesn’t have odors and comes from a smoke free home. Up for sale is this EXTREMELY RARE 18 vintage Madame Alexander BLUE VARIATION of the Edwardian Glamour Girl. She is almost always seen in the PINK embossed dress. She is a lovely sample of an EXTREMELY RARE and hard to find doll. Her full-skirted, tagged gown with Blue embossed flowers and vines is made of crisp polished cotton, and is trimmed with lovely white ball trim. Her dress does have a couple small spots/areas with light yellow aging. Her bonnet is a stiff black taffeta edged in black lace and adorned with a beautiful white ostrich feather. She has on her blue gloves and carries her black Madame Alexander Hat box. Her Coloring is outstanding! Her eyes are a very vibrant sky blue that matches the blue on her dress nicely. She has long thick eyelashes, and shiny perfect curls in original set. She wears a white hoopslip with attached lace-edged panties, which is unwashed and still bright, but shows a couple tiny holes near the hem. Although I have some wrapping tissue helping fill out the skirt for the photos. Her original net stockings are in beautiful condition, and her black velvet shoes are still nice too (with one sole showing a touch more wear than the other). OH SOOO LOVELY – WHAT A BEAUTY TO BEHOLD! This highly collectible vintage Madame Alexander Glamour Girl Picnic Day 18 will warm your heart! Thick shiny auburn hair still in the factory set with the beloved Margaret face. Picnic Day Margaret dates back to 1953 and the doll and her outfit are all original. The lovely combed cotton fabric of a cheerful bright pink and cheerful bright green, black lace trimming and very legible MA tag, the rather large floppy hat is decorated with pink silk roses and black trim that also ties around neckline, the hat has a small separation and clear glue had been used to press back together (please see picture). With all of these older beauties, there usually comes a few small issues here and there, hair is clean and full of curls, face color is vibrant and perfect, eyes are brownish auburn that match her hair and open and close as they should, walking mechanism works great, shoes are a clean cream color and the snap is in perfect working order, Margaret poses wonderfully, stockings are the cream color fish net having no snags or tears, slip has the panties attached as they should be and or course the round wire is not exactly round anymore in her slip, she carries the black and gold shoe box and has the gold Madame Alexander medallion attached, doll is super nice and clean and free of any fractures, cracks, and absolutely no bad odors. This by far is the nicest Madame Alexander Glamour Girl Picnic Day doll I have had the pleasure of meeting. This beautiful 8″ doll is “GLAMOUR GIRL PICNIC DAY #64085, made exclusively for the 2011 Madame Alexander Doll Club Convention in Atlanta, GA. She was the souvenir doll for the “20+ Event”, only available to those who had been MADC members for 20 or more years. She wears a lovely pink floral print dress with ruffled hem, white ruffled tulle slip, white tights and brown & white shoes. She also has her natural straw hat trimmed with flowers. The hat is still sealed in the little plastic bag attached to her box. It feels like there is possibly something else in the bag under the hat ribbons, but I cannot tell and don’t want to open it since it’s still factory sealed. Lovely doll with brown eyes, rosey cheeks and dark red (auburn) curly hair. She is also a Total Moves Wendy with jointed elbows & knees and a swivel waist for greater poseability. GLAMOUR GIRL PICNIC DAY is #53 in a Limited Edition of only 110 dolls and comes Mint-in-Box with her wrist tag and Certificate of Authenticity. She has never been removed from her box or displayed.
