GORGEOUS AND TALENTED MUSICIAN, OUR VINTAGE CISSY BY MADAME ALEXANDER. Cissy, released by Madame Alexander in 1955, was the first of the modern fashion dolls. What set Cissy apart as something new and different was her mature figure with high-heeled feet. She was an expensive doll at the time, and today a dressed doll in mint condition commands a very high price. Cissy was the most prominent doll in Alexanders catalog from 1955 through 1959. This is a 1952 Little Women Amy Doll 15 Inch Margaret Face Hard Plastic Madame Alexander This beautiful 15 inch strung hard plastic Madame Alexander Little Women Amy doll is in excellent clean condition. Amy retains her gold Fashion Academy Award wrist tag. She has the Margaret face with perfect facial paint. Her sleep eyes open and close and her blonde hair is in the original elaborate set. The tagged Amy pink cotton dress with floral bodice is in crisp clean condition along with her white cotton petticoat and matching long pantaloons. Amy is also wearing her original white knit stockings and black side strap shoes with purplish bows on the toes. This is a RARE C1940 Madame Alexander Madelaine du Bain Doll Strung Composition 15 Inch Wendy Ann. Madelaine is a clean strung all composition doll with the Wendy Ann face. Her stringing is tight and she has brown sleep eyes (crazed) with all her fur lashes. There are painted lashes below her eyes and she has dark eye shadow. Her composition has a little bit of crazing. She has her original blond wig with blue hair bow. Her original dress is tagged Madelaine and includes a blue print skirt with pink roses, and sheer pink top. There is brown age staining mostly to the sides of the skirt with some in front. The pink organdy sleeves have a touch of aging. The ruching on the left sleeve has come apart. She is also wearing short pantaloons with an attached lace-trimmed hoop skirt. The shoes and socks are original with bows to the front of the black leatherette side snap shoes (both shoes are missing parts of the sole and heel). This is a Rare 1939 Madame Alexander Carmen Doll Composition 15 Inch in Original Costume. This rare 1939 all composition strung doll is marked Alexander to the back of her neck, and her clothing is tagged Carmen. This doll was made to capitalize on the popularity of singer/actress Carmen Miranda. She has the Wendy face and is a rare and hard to find doll. For reference, please see Rare and Hard to Find Madame Alexander Collector Dolls by Barbara Jo McKeon, page 23. Her stringing is tight and she poses nicely. There is little to no composition crazing and she has all her face paint and fur eyelashes. Her original clothing has some tan aging to her pink satin sleeve and the front of her peplum as well as the beautiful lace apron and pleated organdy skirt ruffle. She is wearing a stiff petticoat and white satin panties underneath the skirt, as well as red side snap shoes trimmed with red bows. Her Carmen hat is trimmed with flowers and fruit.
