Her eyes open and close. She has both earrings. Her skirt and petticoat are really not faded. She does not have a necklace not sure if original did. She is not in the original box. She is in A Nadane Alexander box. The top cover is the same type as her original. The box has an insert to keep her safe. This is a beautiful 1953 Madame Alexander kins doll. She looks to be all original and she has nice hair and pretty facial coloring. The dress is tagged. Dress looks like it may have been ironed and has some brownish tains on the back as shown. No odors or holes. No cracks to doll. This is a delightful Madame Alexander-kins Doll. She is SLW kins which means she is a straight leg walker 1955. She is in excellent condition with original blonde triple stitched wig in curled set, soft coloring with brown brows, green flutter eyes, black under lashes, rosy peach blushed cheeks and red lips. Her body is in excellent condition with arms that will hold a pose and walker works. Wendy is wearing a part-tagged purple and white stripe school dress, net slip, great eyelet pinafore, matching undies, shoes and rayon socks. 1955 #471 Little Red Riding Hood. Alexanderkins 8 Wendy is a straight leg walker with sleep blue eyes and no lower painted lashes. Bright, original cheek color. Crisp, white, tagged taffeta dress trimmed with 3 rows of red rick rack at the hem and white rick rack at the neck. Bright red taffeta cape is sleeveless and buttons at the front. On her head she wears a matching red taffeta bonnet or Charlotte cap which ties at her neck. Lace-edged petticoat or slip, socks, red side-snap shoes with fuzzy soles. Condition issues : Leg stringing is very loose. Could come apart at any time and yet I was able to get her to stand on her own without a stand. Im not a great re-stringer and on a doll this nice i didnt want to manhandle her. Small brownish stain on hem of skirt. Alexander straw basket but from a later Red Riding Hood. Elastic on slip has been reinforced with elastic thread. Tiniest seam split at top of right leg and mold flaw on top of right arm. Hair in very good set with just a few small flyaways. For your consideration is this beautiful vintage Madame Alexander. From 1954 in a tagged pale blue organdy lace trimmed gown with puff sleeves and white pearl like buttons in the back. Under her lovely gown is a very lovely pale pink taffeta half slip with pale light blue ribbon woven around through the lace trimming and matching pantaloons. Both slip and pantaloons fit her nicely around her waist with elastic that still holds up well. She wears her original rayon socks and black velvety side snap shoes with fuzzy bottoms. Her straw hat has florets on the side and is tied under her chin with a pale blue satin ribbon. This lovely doll is shown on page 28 of Patricia Smith’s book, World of Alexander-kins. ” There are other similar Southern Belle variations or “types, but the others usually have a crocheted hat. This doll in my pictures has the harder to find straw hat and longer sleeves. She has sweet bisque like color to her plastic and original facial coloring with pale eyebrows and very rosy cheeks. Even more special are her bright clear green-eyes and soft brunette curls. – She has a tiny beginning of a crack at the top of each leg at the hip inside the cavity. Her walker mechanism doesn’t work. Her dress, slip, pantaloons and socks were very gently cleaned to remove years of settling dust that came with her when she was sent to me. She is marked ALEX on her back and her gown is tagged Alexander kins. She is a SLW or straight leg walker with her original banding. Her eyes blink and sleep as shown. 1954 Madame Alexander Kins SLW doll in tagged Blue Danube # 351. She wear a tagged dress 1954 Blue Danube dress #351. She is signed ALEX on the back. She has a triple stitch hair. She is made of hard plastic. Beautiful Blue/Green color eyes? Approximate measurements are 7.5 tall. She comes to you as you see in the photos, but she may need a little love. I didn’t notice any major problems on the dress like holes or rips but over the years the color may have little faded and some stains are present, I believe that could go away by washing it lightly. The elastic sleeves is not stretched and is still perfect. The doll is in near mint condition but I noticed a little red on the back. I have not try to cleaned but for a vintage doll doesn’t show much but I wanted to let you know everything I have noticed. The dress is still crisp and looks like it has never been washed. I’m not the original owner or a professional collector but. In my opinion she is still in lovely condition. Please check all my photos or ask any questions before you purchasing.
