Here’s a truly gorgeous vintage Madame Alexander Cissy doll in very good condition. She comes wearing original tagged dark blue taffeta dress with matching straw hat, bolero cape with bow, original panties, replacement pink crinoline, replacement ivory high heel shoes and stockings, vintage rhinestone ring and rhinestone earrings which are glued on. (This outfit is not original to this particular Cissy doll). She has clear blue-gray eyes, red lips, blushed cheeks, and eyeshadow. Her wig which is original to the 1957 Cissy Queen doll is a pretty chestnut brown color with upswept sides….. Matches her complexion perfectly. She has blushed hands and knees. Her eyes open and close and she has no missing lashes. Sometimes her head needs a little nudge to help them open. I see no cracks, splits or tears. She is strung well and holds poses. This doll has no major flaws. There are a few minor ones which I will mention. There are a few age related rub marks at the tops of her legs. There are two tiny faint spots on the underside of her left wrist which are hard to notice. A spot of paint is missing on her left eyelid which of course can only be seen when her eyes are shut. If held under a bright light, there are a few places around her wig showing a very slight bit of glue residue. This is hard to see in normal lighting. One leg is a tiny bit shorter than the other as is sometimes common with these dolls. Please note that all of these flaws are very minor for a doll over sixty years old. She’s stunning and displays beautifully. Her clothes are in very good to excellent condition. The dress is lovely with no tears or stains. Still nice and crisp. The hat is missing a small amount of trim near the back. The chin strap is still attached and is in great shape. Her cape is slightly separated at the left seam in the front. Vintage 1954-55 Madame Alexander Cissy Doll In #2044 Navy with Bolero 1955 Dress and Bolero. This is a Madame Alexander Cissy that is in very good condition. She is just gorgeous! Her hair has been washed and restyled in its original curls which includes her original hairpins. Her hair has NOT been cut, it is styled in the bob curled style. Her hairpins can be removed but I will leave that up to the new owner so her curls stay in place. Both her head and arms have been restrung and she now does not have a floppy head. Her eyes open and close easily. She has all her original brush lashes. Her knees bend appropriately as shown in the photos. Both lock in place easily. Hands and knees have nice blush marks still present. She has no cracks or stress fractures or structural issues. She does have some paint missing on both legs at the upper inner thighs and around her neck area. Doll has no foul odors. Her dress is tagged appropriately and there are no holes. It snaps closed with five square snaps. Her bolero has the white snap ribbon and has no issues. I also do not have her original hat but have replaced it with a vintage straw hat that is similar to the one referenced in the stock photo provided. She is wearing full length nylons that are run free and stay up nicely. She also has appropriate black strap shoes that are not stretched. Her panties are original Cissy ivory taffeta lace lined. Doll has a replaced pearl necklace and she has a nice gold tone iridescent shiny stone ring. This doll would be a wonderful addition to add to your collection. She will come carefully packed, but NO doll stand will be provided. I have included a reference photo from the book Cissy Reference Rarities Restoration by Shaw on page 51. Recently, I acquired a Cissy trunk set that contained numerous Cissy outfits, including this hard to find 2pc outfit from 1957. The outfit was a boxed extra and includes a navy, polka dotted, pleated skirt made of polished cotton and accented with flowers at the waist and a sheer nylon blouse accented with lace. Both pieces are tagged. NOTE: I had a really hard time deciding whether or not to sell these 2 pieces together as the condition of each is different. I finally made the decision to sell them together but it’s very important that it be understood that the blouse is NOT in as nice of condition as the skirt. SKIRT CONDITION: the skirt looks wonderful, even after all these decades! Flowers at waist do have a bit of wear from storage. BLOUSE CONDITION: I consider the blouse to be TLC, at least to some degree. Both cuffs need to be mended where the lace meets the nylon material with the right cuff having more areas in need of mending than the left (an example of the issue can be seen in the last pic); there are a few dropped or loose stitches along one of the shoulder seams (see 8th pic); buttons have some wear to the finish; the blouse has just a bit of general soil and the edging that finishes the bottom of the blouse has unraveled a bit on the front edges. 1957 Madame Alexander CISSY doll in “Navy with Long Stole” outfit in very very good condition. She is 20 inches tall and a lovely red head in the bob hairstyle, with extra thick bangs. It is obvious this outfit is not original to this particular doll as you can see in the Cissy Files book pictured. This is a doll that has been redressed and she looks great. Dress is nice and crisp no damage at all. Hat is lovely with flowers and in wonderful condition along with her matching organdy long stole which also has flowers in great condition. Now both the hat and stole are a matching ivory color due to age. Her shoes are probably correct, and have the hollowed out heels, but her hose and slip are not, but suit the outfit well. As for Cissy she wears this outfit well with one half inch split on her upper left thigh that is hidden inside her torso. Otherwise she is beautiful with tight stringing, beautiful hair, and all her eyelashes are present and her eyes work well. As for her face I would guess she could have been tastefully reblushed which wouldn’t hurt her value. The ivory Cissette chemise is minty. Curlers and comb perfect and on their original card. This is a vintage Cissy with lovely chignon in original set with original tie and hairnet. The wig is lifting slightly in the front. She has blue eyes with a few amber flecks. Her lashes are all there. I see one small split in her left leg but it is minor. There are rubs from a stand around her waist (see photo). Cissy wears a tagged, navy taffeta dress with white organdy stole and hat. Hat and stole have original flowers. Her clothing is in very good to excellent condition with no stains or holes. I’m the original owner and was allowed only to take her out from time to time and look at her. She has all of her original clothes down to her ruffled panties which I didn’t photo to protect her modesty… Her seamed stockings are perfect with no snags or runs. She is wearing said panties, stockings, slip, blouse, coat, hat and red wedge sandals. As you would expect at the age of 60+ her elastic isn’t so elastic anymore mine either! I added some jewlery to her hands… No cracks in legs or arms… Don’t see the cracks in hip areas where legs go inside, but I think way up very very high there is somewhat a tiny crack, very hard to see…. But this has been on the leg like that since I first bought her so many years ago…. Here for your consideration is a lovely blonde vintage Madame Alexander 21 Cissy Doll dressed in her minty tagged navy blue Cissy outfit from 1955. This outfit is often referred to as “Navy with Bolero 1955″. Dress (Mint): The dark navy blue dress and matching bolero are in mint condition. The taffeta is crisp. There are no rips, tears, holes, stains, or odors. There are five snaps running down the back of the dress and they are all present and attached. The armhole tulle is there. The little white grosgrain bow is attached as is the snap. Hat (Mint): The hat is in mint condition. The elastic that secures the hat under Cissy’s chin is present and not stretched. The wire within the brim of the hat is flexible and allows the hat to be molded. I dipped the brim in a bit just because I liked the look but I flatten the brim out when I removed the hat. Slip (Excellent) : The slip is vintage and there are no rips, tears, holes, stains, or odors. I took the waist band in a little bit because the elastic had stretched. This slip is exactly the length of the dress so if it is not tight on the doll’s waist it can slip down and reveal itself. The rick rack is a little larger than I’m use to seeing on Cissy’s slips. I don’t know if larger rick rack was used back in 1955 or if the rick rack was added later. Regardless, the slip is beautifully full and works perfectly with the dress. Panties (Not Original): Cissy is missing her original panties. She is wearing a sweet vintage girdle instead. (Perhaps she thought she needed the support). Stockings (Excellent) : The stockings are in excellent condition. They are vintage but were not made by the Alexander doll Company. I say this because the top elastic is brown rather than pink. The nylons have retained most of their elasticity. Shoes (Not Original) : The navy blue shoes are not original but they go nicely with this outfit. Gloves (Very Good): The vintage white nylon gloves are in very good condition for their age. There is a little staining on the seams of the fingers from the thread. Hat Box (Excellent): Pink Madame Alexander hat box with the. Fashion Academy Awards medallion attached to the elastic. The box is in excellent condition and empty. Two strand pearl necklace and two pearl bracelets. Doll (Excellent) : Cissy has beautiful facial coloring, full lashes, and crystal clear blue sleep eyes. Her blonde hair is thick and almost in its original set. Both of her knees bend with ease as do her arms. There are no cracks or splits. She will come to you wearing a hairnet so that her hair stays in place. Her only drawback and it’s minor is that her head has a tendency to tilt back a little when you lift her up but it’s easily put back into place and it will stay where you place it.
