Madame Alexander Dolls

She measures 21 tall. She has beautiful facial coloring with some very light crazing in her composition. There are no flakes in her composition. Her clothing and hat are in very nice condition. Her pretty brunette floss hair is still in the original set. Her stringing is still very nice, but I did not have the right size of doll stand and didn’t want to take a chance with this very special doll. Her eyes open and close nicely. She does have one long narrow crazing mark on her left leg (see the photo). The original owner was a family member who loved child film star Margaret O’Brien and treasured this doll. I think she is in amazing condition for a composition doll of 80 some years old. Please view the photo as it is part of the description. Low starting price with no reserve. Margaret O’Brien doll by the Alexander Doll Company, New York, NY. Vintage in original clothing – original arm hang tag – I believe the original braiding to her hair! Original box with original Sattler’s price tag. As you will see – box is not intact but it comes with her if you want to cut the side panel off to display in a frame etc. Non smoking home but this doll has been stored – i believe never played with but it does have a dusty oder. Not moldy but dusty. I do see some discoloration on the dress – not sure if from just aging or previous finger oils? – need to look at pictures if showing up. Not sure – maybe would wash out if desired. Pricing reasonable because she does have some age related hairline cracking. I believe she is composition – if i tap on her she doesn’t sound like bisque – i apologize now if i’m wrong. Her dress label doesn’t indicate. Back when she was made labeling wasn’t what it is today. Vintage 1940s 21 Composition Alexander Dressed Margaret O’Brien Doll. S he’s a Beauty! Pretty Margaret faced brunette Margaret O’Brien wearing her original coat, hat and dress ensemble. 21 composition Margaret with mohair wig, clear blue sleep eyes and pretty painted features. She has a very nice condition body and pretty face. All composition, jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips. Clear and sparkly blue sleep eyes with thick brush lashes. Highlighting her eyes grey shadow, single stroke eyebrows, and below long. Right cheek blush, and closed rosebud lips. Her wig is all mohair in the typical O’Brien pigtails, held in place with two blue ribbons. Margaret is wearing her original white organdy dotted Swiss dress with blue trim, full skirt and puff sleeves, blue corduroy coat decorated with white pom poms and matching hat. Underneath, eyelet trimmed one piece undies. On her feet nylon socks and black ankle strap snap shoes. MARK: Madame Alexander on her head and back. Because of her size, she will need a 24 box and the Post Office is now charging for volume as well as weight. Rates have gone up. Good, carefully played with condition. Her painted facial features are all in tack and appear original. She has working, clear sleep eyes with thick brush lashes. Her vintage wig is mohair in a nice set although her pigtails look a bit short. Even skin tone with original paint. Fingers and toes have had rough repairs on their tips – see pictures. She has light to moderate over all crazing. Paint wear to joints. No cracks, chips, lifting or flaking paint. Her costume is not tagged but is easily recognized and has working square snaps and serged seams. The coat and hat are in good displayed condition. The set has working snaps, original pom poms and light over all display soil. The dress fabric is thin and fragile. It has small rust stains at the neck, several rips – the one in front shown in pics and additionally several in the back of the skirt. All are about 1/2″ to 1″ in size. The one piece underwear appears to be original. It closes with a safety pin and is in good condition. Her socks and ankle strap, snap shoes are in good condition and look like vintage replacements. This is a beautiful hard to find Madame Alexander 18 Margaret O’Brien face doll, marked Alexander on her back. She is wearing mommy made clothes. She has blue eyes and ginger colored. Hair & long eyelashes. Her face color is very pretty. Measures approx 18 H. She is in very good “Vintage” condition. She does have some some crazing on her face and 2 small flea bites as seen in pics. Her hair is in nice condition. The Coat, Cape & Blue, blue dress with flowers have some condition issues due to age. The pink and white tagged dress has black ribbon that I don’t believe is original to the dress, but it looks cute. This doll may need to be re-strung. Her joints are loose & she could use a cleaning. Here is a gorgeous vintage 21 tall Margaret O’brien. She is marked ALEXANDER on her back. Her dress and hair ribbons and socks look original to me. The slip, panties and shoes are replaced. I’m not sure if that hat belongs to her but it is vintage. Her dress is not tagged. She has a mohair wig. She has all hair and eyelashes. Her left eyelashes are all there, they just look shorter then the right side. She is super clean and shiny. There is very light crazing all over. There is a small place on the right side of her neck where the composition is cracked and lifting. There is another small place on the inside of her right knee where the composition is cracked and lifting as well. Her stringing is great condition. We are a smoke free home.
