Rare vintage Madame Alexander The Story Princess. Released in the 1950s several times so Im not sure if this is the 1957. I think the face is the Cissy mold. Three roses on her skirt and one on the top. Original per the only owner but I do not find any photos of it in my research. Pretty to display, the color is not bright probably faded from being displayed or age. She has her original bloomers , nylons and shoes. Bloomers are a bit stretched out at the waist but stay up nicely. Her head is a little stiff to turn left and right. She may originally have been a walker. Her hair needs a nice combing but it is full. And its original style. Her eyelashes are missing which I try to show in the photos. Her face needs washing but I have not tried. The golden era of the Alexander Doll Company was in full swing at this point in time. The company was working on all cylinders and had recently moved to their new factory building in Harlem. Department stores and retailers vied with each other for exclusives that they could claim as their own. This might help explain some of the rare and difficult to find color combinations dolls like this occasionally show up. This gorgeous doll was obviously an exclusive from a department store because this is the original box she came in. I have never seen a Bridesmaid doll in a traditional blue Madame Alexander box, and this is the reason. The woman I received this doll from was the original owner of her. She never played with her and for that, Princess Margaret looks like she was kept in a time machine! Her dress is still crisp! As is the elastic on her panties and her stockings are still tight! NOTHING is faded or rotted. Her coloring is SUPERB, as is everything else about her!! Every detail was thought of with this beauty… Even a hand sewn pearl bead in one of her curls. Here is a stunning vintage 14 Margaret Rose composition. She has a beautiful soft pink gown. Some tiny holes in the outer layer of the dress but. You have to hold it up to see them. There is a little. Stretching at the seam under the left armpit. On the inside layer of the dress. There is a seam. Separation in the back of the dress at the ruffle thats. On the lower back. I dont believe her dress. Shoes or hat are original but they are from. The tag on her dress has been sewn. On the loose end its sewn on the dress on. She has a mohair wig. She has all hair. And eyelashes and her eyes will open and close. Her stringing is very good condition. She has extremely light crazing all over. Look closely to see it. She has several tiny cracks. On her upper back, under right armpit, left wrist, palm. Of right hand, bottom of her butt, top both hips in. The back, bottom right leg. Are tiny, you have to look closely to see them as. The back of her neck is marked ALEXANDER. She has a very small circular. Defect on her left wrist as well. We are a smoke free home. Unless I misrepresent something so be sure to ask questions. This is a pretty Alexander Princess Margaret Rose doll, tagged and 15. She wears her original clothes and hat. Her dress is tagged Margaret Rose and I believe she was made in the 40s. She has a mohair reddish wig and her eyes open and close. Although her clothes are original, they are limp and not mint. I dont see any holes or rips but the dress is in fair condition. Her mohair wig is matted in back because of laying flat. She does have a beautiful face with rosy checks. Please ask questions as I may have missed something. Listed for sale is a lovely antique original Madame Alexander doll, made circa 1930s. This doll stands 19 and is marked on her neck Madame Alexander. Her character is Princess Elizabeth a very popular child figure for the 1930s and eventually becoming Queen Elizabeth. Her composition is in excellent original condition, beautiful finish and coloring, having no crazing or breaks. (a 10 out of 10) Her eyes are clear and her eye lashes are full. She has a mohair ash blond wig that is mostly in original set. With a few curls that could be re-arranged. She has painted brows, smoky eye shadow, and clear blue eyes. All of her eyelashes are thick and present…. She has coral colored lipstick. The doll is tagged Margaret Rose, although in tact, It is worn. The dress is just beautiful so full and just like new. Great elastic in the sleeves and all the lace is present. She has yellow satin panties and attached yellow matching scalloped edge slip. She wears rayon thigh high stockings. Black shiny shoes with bows on the toes that look to be in perfect condition. Soles, snaps and heels all good. Her Original hat is lovely. Ties under the chin with yellow ribbon that matches. The ribbon trim on the hat and waist. The hat, waist trim and flower at the hem are all original flowers. She is in great condition for her age. No smells are marks or stains. I can’t see any crazing on her face, arms or legs. I planned to keep her and now because of medical bills having to part with her. She will be insured and signature required when received. Princess Elizabeth is Madame Alexander’s 13 doll from 1937. She is wearing her entire outfit which is all original. Her hair is in its original set with barrettes on both sides of her hair and she is wearing her original crown. She is in very good shape for her age. Her dress closes at the back bodice with two buttons and the slip with attached panties requires a safety pin as a fastener on the back neckline. The dress is in very good shape but having said that it does show some wear as far as the flowers aren’t as perky and there is some light soiling near the dress hem in front… There are some mends on the dress and one of the buttons is chipped. I did not take her shoes off because I have done that with other dolls and the snaps have broken. There is a little separation at the top seam on the back of the left shoe and her sock is a little raggedy on the left foot but again I didn’t want to undo the shoe to replace a sock which is still very presentable. The label attached to her dress clearly identifies her as Princess Elizabeth. We live in a smoke-free home.
