This is a beautiful and rare 1959 Madame Alexander Walt Disney Sleeping Beauty 16 vinyl doll, dressed in her original light purple tagged evening gown. A highly collectible piece, she is in good vintage condition with her hair still styled in its original set. Brand: Madame Alexander. Character: Sleeping Beauty. Clothing: Original light purple tagged evening gown (missing shoes). Doll is in good vintage condition. Hair: Nicely styled and still in its original set. Face: Slight rubbing to the rosy cheek paint on the left side; the rest of her face paint is intact and vibrant. Body: No split limbs, cracks, or chew marks on fingers or feet. Im pleased to offer this extremely rare, and hard to find Gay Nineties purple Godey portrait doll. Cissy is from 1959. She is the strung doll with the slender non jointed arms. Lovingly referred to by collectors as the no neck Cissy. 21 tall with an adult body, and high heeled feet. All original doll to the tagged costume. This girl is so rare, that collectors sometimes have to find bits and pieces of this particular doll. Cissy wears her original costume consisting of her dress, slip, panties, hose, and jacket, as well as her hat. Okay, where was I? The tulle on her hat has been replaced. Im sure flowers have also been added to the hat as well as the jacket. Look at that jacket! She wears lace gauntlets, as well as her original earrings. The dress is pink taffeta, and it has been laundered and pressed. Not the best thing for vintage taffeta. There are wrinkles that I didnt try to iron out. There is a pin hole at the bodice that doesnt go all the way through the lining. It is also covered by the rest of the costume. A few small pinholes in the skirt. Also a few dark smudges along the back. Meaning, there is so much positive going on, I dont really get hung up on that. Use your own discretion though. Purple elastic sandals are newer. Cissy is in great condition. Many of these dolls have yellowed and their heads have split at the seams on the sides. Cissy has had very light blush added, and its been professionally sealed. Pretty, long, full auburn wig. Blue sleep eyes that stick slightly. One side of her eyelash curls up a bit. The lashes could be replaced so they wouldnt do this, but I say leave her as original as possible. You wont find this doll again in the near future. Purple is the color of ROYALTY and CISSY looks amazing in this torso gown. Her Mermaid Look will be the highlight of your Cissy collection. She’s a STAR and she knows it! This is a phenomenal doll and gown from my personal collection. She is VHTF and the coloring on both the doll and the gown are wonderful. Her body has a good balanced weight and she hold a pose well. She is photographed nude, balanced without a stand. Minor hip split high inside the cavity has been repaired. Note the staining on her torso. What’s interesting is that the dye transfer came from the thread used to stitch the gown, and not the velvet. No staining visible on dressed doll. This further verifies that the doll is original to the gown. FACE: I LOVE THIS DOLL!!! Some dolls speak to me and this girl has a lot to say!! Infused face from 1957. This girl has all her original features with blush having been slightly enhanced to even out fading to get matching cheeks.. Lovely doll with skin tone nicely complementing her blonde wig. No yellowing to original sealant. EYES: All original lashes. Eyes are a soft blue. WIG: blonde up-do with original hair ties on pullbacks and top of head. Replaced corded tie at nape of neck. Wig has not been combed out. It has good shine, not dry. SLIP: Original slip with attached panties. Waistband redone with vintage lingerie elastic. GOWN: Spectacular vibrant bodice in a rich purple hue with original rhinestone snowflake pin. Unwashed velvet with good nap and excellent coloring. Note the detailed construction. Built in satin bra panel. Satin lining has a good pink color. Flounce has been hand dyed to even out fading. Vintage corsage is a replacement. VERY DIFFICULT GOWN TO FIND! REFERENCE PAGES FROM CISSY! This doll has some items all original, and some have been added by me. First off, the doll itself is clean and has no odors, stains, chews or splits. She had a small 1/4 split at the back of her head, and this has been filled and bonded. She also had a low neck (head opening was a bit to big for her neck and sat down to far). She had the head opening filled in with clear bonding and her head now sits up appropriately. She has her original clear blue eyes and full original lashes. There are some rubs on both of her eye lids. Of course, not seen unless she is laid down. She has had her wig cleaned and restyled back into her original low bun in the back. New spanner bar and side ties. It is full and has no cut or missing hair. She is a transitional doll, and is strung. She has had new stringing. She has earring holes. Her outfit has a new dress. It is a pretty pink taffeta , newer, not vintage and I was able to find the exact trim for around the hem. It is lovely crisp taffeta and made exactly to the original design. Her original dress is dirty, dingy, major faded around the bottom, and has stains. It is tagged and I have shown the tag of that dress. I will include the dress if you desire it, please let me know when you pay. Her purple velvet jacket has been cleaned and it came out quite well. No holes, rips or major stains. Her hat is original and has new tulle and flowers added. She also has new flowers added to her corsage at the waist. She has her original ring and her gorgeous earrings. She also has her original, large crinoline slip. The slip has had some repairs to it and new elastic added at the waist. She wears a vintage pair of satin panties (not Cissy panties), vintage nylons, and a new pair of lavender elastic shoes. The stand is not included. Because there are so many people doing repairs on these lovely dolls and I have been asked many questions, I would like to clarify a bit of the work I do. I have had training in repairs and have been doing them for many years. My spa treatments are done with solvent based paints that are air brushed on, the same that are used on plastic bumpers on cars. The paint is UV protected and is permanent and will not rub off. The paint is also sealed with a UV protectant sealer. It also is permanent and will not yellow or wash off. I remove the eyes through the neck opening and replace them back the same way once eyelash and eye repair is finished. I do NOT split the head open, nor would I recommend it. I try to always think of the long term effects of my repairs and fixes. As for the clothing I make, I try to make them as close to an original design as possible. I also try to use vintage 50′s fabrics as often as I can. If I do not, I will always state so. I do not photoshop or alter my pictures in any way. Pictures are part of the description.
