This is my favorite doll and gown made for Cissy by Madame Alexander. She is the one I fell in love with at first sight. 1956 Brunette Up-do with tie backs, re-blushed and gently sealed. Original lashes, brows and lips. Very sturdy doll with a nice solid weight and no cracks or splits. Gown shows no fading and has not been laundered. Even the pink satin lining, bra insert and exposed shoulders show a nice even pink color. Original slip and attached panties with good elastic. NOTE: There are two small tears in the tulle measuring less than 1 inch. NOTE: This doll has pierced ears… Original had flatback rhinestone earrings. I will either include rhinestone drop earrings or glue on flatback rhinestone earrings for you… Just let me know at. No odors, no pets, non-smoking home. This beautiful Cissy wears her tagged, torso gown known as the Black Mermaid #2043, made in1956 by Madame Alexander. The gown is made with a black velvet fitted torso and flared black taffeta covered with tulle at the bottom. It features a pink lining, zipper closure in the back and is adorned with pink roses. She also wears the matching half-slip with attached panties, black heels and rhinestone jewelry. Both the doll and clothing are in extra nice condition with no damage noted. This Cissy doll is Beautiful!! She has original hair style very elegant. Cissy is wearing her original pink torso gown with all original jewelry, her hair is in wonderful condition the hairnet is still there too. Cissy has no splits or cracks but there are a few scratches on her back. The slip appears to be sewn on and the tag is missing and the gown appears to have been cleaned at some point. Purple is the color of ROYALTY and CISSY looks amazing in this torso gown. Her Mermaid Look will be the highlight of your Cissy collection. She’s a STAR and she knows it! This is a phenomenal doll and gown from my personal collection. She is VHTF and the coloring on both the doll and the gown are wonderful. Her body has a good balanced weight and she hold a pose well. She is photographed nude, balanced without a stand. Minor hip split high inside the cavity has been repaired. Note the staining on her torso. What’s interesting is that the dye transfer came from the thread used to stitch the gown, and not the velvet. No staining visible on dressed doll. This further verifies that the doll is original to the gown. FACE: I LOVE THIS DOLL!!! Some dolls speak to me and this girl has a lot to say!! Infused face from 1957. This girl has all her original features with blush having been slightly enhanced to even out fading to get matching cheeks.. Lovely doll with skin tone nicely complementing her blonde wig. No yellowing to original sealant. EYES: All original lashes. Eyes are a soft blue. WIG: blonde up-do with original hair ties on pullbacks and top of head. Replaced corded tie at nape of neck. Wig has not been combed out. It has good shine, not dry. SLIP: Original slip with attached panties. Waistband redone with vintage lingerie elastic. GOWN: Spectacular vibrant bodice in a rich purple hue with original rhinestone snowflake pin. Unwashed velvet with good nap and excellent coloring. Note the detailed construction. Built in satin bra panel. Satin lining has a good pink color. Flounce has been hand dyed to even out fading. Vintage corsage is a replacement. VERY DIFFICULT GOWN TO FIND! REFERENCE PAGES FROM CISSY! 1956 Cissy in tagged Black Mermaid Torso Gown. She is in beautiful but NOT mint condition. She did get a little refreshing at the spa and has been restrung. Her gown will need a little attention. Although it is free from any damage, I did find a couple of marks on the underskirt and the velvet will need to be brushed. This beautiful Madame Alexander Cissy doll from the late 1950s was bought from the family of the original owner. She is original to this tagged purple torso gown. She wears her original rhinestone earrings, which had been glued to her ears, and I never did anything to change it. She has no issues to her hard plastic body except for a split at the top of her left leg, which was never repaired. Her brunette updo wig is fabulous and in the original set, with very minimal hairs out of place. She has very blue eyes, and I really don’t see any color change in them. They open and close well, and she has all of her brush lashes. There are a few specks on her eyelids. She has some issues to her right check and the right side of her face, which are pictured. Not really noticeable on display, but the camera sees everything. These could probably be touched up without much trouble. Her stringing is good, and there are no issues with her vinyl arms. Her joints are at the head, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, and she is 20 inches tall. Her tagged torso gown is purple velvet with pink satin accents and a voluminous flounce of soft lavender tulle over a deeper lavender organdy underskirt. I found a couple of tiny spots on the organdy underskirt. They would probably rinse out, but they would never be seen. The tulle has no rips or tears, but a few pinholes and one area in the back where there are several small holes in a grouping. I have a picture of this if you would like to see, but I ran out of picture room. Under the gown is a torso slip with pink satin top and lace-trimmed pink satin panties attached and a flounce of lavender tulle. Didn’t see any issues with this. I had the elastic replaced years back with pink rayon-rubber elastic like the original, so it fits snugly. She wears original Cissy hose with no damage. Tops are very slightly loose, but stay up fine. The shoes are white pearl bases with pretty pink insoles and silver elastic. They were bought quite a while ago to use with this gown since the doll had lost her original shoes. Also missing was the snowflake pin that goes on the gown’s bodice. The vintage flowers are very tired, and one of the flowers became detached and lost. I have pictured a spray of 1950s fuschia nylon? Roses that was intended to replace the original flowers, and they will come with the doll. They have a Made in Germany tag on them. Cissy in her torso gown makes for a beautiful display. Can’t believe I never displayed it on her. It was just stored once the slip elastic was repaired. She’s from a smoke-free home, and questions are welcome, along with requests for additional pictures. If I hadnt gotten laid off, this doll would not be up for sale… But life goes on. This is a gorgeous redhead Cissy , dressed in the HTF 1956 Black Torso Mermaid evening gown is in very nice condition but NOT mint in my opinion. Her hair is in all original form, blue eyes are turning a little green, full eye lashes, eyes close freely, no smells, smoke or odors She had good color on her paint, cheeks are bare, lips and body color is good.. No splits on the legs or crotch. Dress still has all the original rosettes on the outside and under layer of the dress. Original panties and fitted slip to the knee with flounce tulle to the feet. HTF ORIGINAL shoes, however, elastic is completely stretched out and there are some moth holes in the pink of the shoes. You should be able to see this clearly. Dress is in great shape, but upon examination, I did notice a few areas on the underside that should be refreshed and cleaned. There are some rub marks around her neck, I ran out of space for pics but can send if you want to see them. Clearly, in her 63 years of life, she has been admired from afar and not in played with condition. This is a 21 (approximately) Gorgeous Madame Alexander Cissy doll. She is from 1955 #2100. Madame Alexander Made 3 variations of the torso gown and I was so lucky to have had these. All three of these came with the zipper in the back of the dress and are the best of Madame Alexander Cissy. This one is often found with the ribbon at flounce deterioated. It is the mauve torso gown. Taffeta tight fitted gown with flared decolletage and wide pink ribbon and gold braiding at the arms. Gown has a full flounce with a gold, pink and blue bow. It is in beautiful condition. Gown does have a few minor marks with the biggest being a black mark in the back(see picture). Comes with her pink taffeta and tulle slip and matching panties attached to the slip, nylons and one of her heels(I have added a vintage replacement pair I had). She has on a aquamarine color ring on one hand and a rhinestone one on the other. She has two original bracelet and pearl necklace. Her earrings are original and only came with this doll, but one is missing a pearl plus they need to be cleaned, they look to be tarnished. Her shiney brunette hair is in original set, with no bangs and spit curls at the ears pulled to the top from the sides and at the back with curls. She has a small split starting at her neck(see picture). Her face paint is beautiful with full lashes top and bottom, good brows, rosey cheeks and deep pink lips. Stringing seems good and she holds a pose. She is such a good example of a beautiful Madame Alexander doll. It is hard to find dolls in this wonderful condition any more. I have had her in my collection for a very long time. She is over 60 years old but doesnt look it. You can find this gown in the most wonderful book, “The Cissy Files” written by Kiley Ruwe Shaw, on front cover and on page 31 under Evening Wear. This gown is listed as Mauve Torso and dates back to 1955. In this same book, on page 144, the gown has been listed as VHTF.
