RARE Vintage Madame Alexander CISSY Rose Velvet Coat from 1955. BEAUTIFUL Hard to Find Cissy rose velvet coat from 1955!! This coat can be seen on page 111 of “Cissy Reference Raritites Restoration” by Kiley Ruwe Shaw. In the book she identifies the coat as being a boxed extra for that year. The coat is in good condition with no tears or odors. There are several tiny spots on the left side of the coat, and a few light crush marks in the nap of the velvet, both of which I tried to picture in the photos. The coat displays beautifully. The buttons and button holes are in great condition and do not show much if any wear. The color of the coat is vibrant and it has not faded with age. This is such a lovely coat that will look great on any Cissy doll! Smoke free, pet free home. This is the prettiest Madame Alexander Margaret doll I’ve ever seen. She’s a vintage Princess Margaret Rose. She comes wearing her original light blue organdy/nylon dress with attached satin blue petticoat, blue satin panties which tie in the back, socks, blue Mary Jane shoes with bows and straw hat with replaced flowers. The cascading ribbon attached to the hat can be tied in a bow around her neck if desired. Her dress is in fair to good condition but displays nicely. There are a few small tears in her skirt and on the right lower side there is a small hole and what looks to be a few repairs. Most of these flaws are well hidden in the folds of her dress. I pulled out the skirt in order to take the last picture. The elastic in the puffed sleeves has relaxed and there are some tiny tears. Part of the middle snap on the back of her dress is missing. The dress is a bit faded and the original flower at the waist shows age. The dress is tagged however the tag is frayed and hard to read but if you look closely, the Madame Alexander name can be seen. Her hat is in very nice condition with replaced flowers. Still has its elastic chin strap which is no longer stretchy. Her shoes show some age. The snaps are present but have come unglued from her shoes and are attached to the straps. As the photo shows, this is hard to notice when the doll is standing since the straps lay nicely across her feet. This doll is in very good condition and has a gorgeous face with lightly blushed cheeks and red lips. Her green eyes have a touch of yellow. They open and close and all her dark lashes are intact. Her lovely blonde mohair wig is in its original style with pink vintage cabbage roses and original hair bars. She’s strung well and holds poses perfectly. She displays so beautifully. I’m being picky here but want to include everything that I notice. There is a very tiny scratch or mark of some kind on the left side of her nose. I never noticed this until I started carefully examining her for these pictures. It’s very hard to see…. Probably something that occurred during production. It’s extremely hard for my camera to capture it but if you look carefully at the 2 close-up photos of her face, it can be seen. With pink roses in her luxurious Brown hair and bouquet, and a movie star beautiful Margaret face, this stunning Princess Margaret Rose is a knockout in this 14 size. The gown, fashioned from yards of the finest silk organza, is the most beautiful shade of deep pink with a Madame Alexander tag attached. Trimmed with a silver braid at the hem. Delicate jewelry includes a refined beaded necklace and crystal drop at the center of the sweetheart neckline. A clover wrist tag is included. The golden era of the Alexander Doll Company was in full swing at this point in time. The company was working on all cylinders and had recently moved to their new factory building in Harlem. Department stores and retailers vied with each other for exclusives that they could claim as their own. This might help explain some of the rare and difficult to find color combinations dolls like this occasionally show up. This gorgeous doll was obviously an exclusive from a department store because this is the original box she came in. I have never seen a Bridesmaid doll in a traditional blue Madame Alexander box, and this is the reason. The woman I received this doll from was the original owner of her. She never played with her and for that, Princess Margaret looks like she was kept in a time machine! Her dress is still crisp! As is the elastic on her panties and her stockings are still tight! NOTHING is faded or rotted. Her coloring is SUPERB, as is everything else about her!! Every detail was thought of with this beauty… Even a hand sewn pearl bead in one of her curls. Here is a stunning vintage 14 Margaret Rose composition. She has a beautiful soft pink gown. Some tiny holes in the outer layer of the dress but. You have to hold it up to see them. There is a little. Stretching at the seam under the left armpit. On the inside layer of the dress. There is a seam. Separation in the back of the dress at the ruffle thats. On the lower back. I dont believe her dress. Shoes or hat are original but they are from. The tag on her dress has been sewn. On the loose end its sewn on the dress on. She has a mohair wig. She has all hair. And eyelashes and her eyes will open and close. Her stringing is very good condition. She has extremely light crazing all over. Look closely to see it. She has several tiny cracks. On her upper back, under right armpit, left wrist, palm. Of right hand, bottom of her butt, top both hips in. The back, bottom right leg. Are tiny, you have to look closely to see them as. The back of her neck is marked ALEXANDER. She has a very small circular. Defect on her left wrist as well. We are a smoke free home. Unless I misrepresent something so be sure to ask questions.
