SHE IS MARKED “ALEXANDER” ON BACK IN NECK. SHE HAS GREEN EYES AND A FULL SET OF LASHES IN GOOD WORKING ORDER. HER PAINT IS STILL VIBRANT WITH NO TOUCH UPS, HER LIPS PERFECT, HER BODY HAS NO CRACKS OR ISSUES. HER CLOTHING IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. This is another wonderful estate found, vintage Madame Alexander. She is an absolutely gorgeous, 16 honey blonde ELISE doll. Dolls hair still has the clip in it, and her bun still has the net on it. She is wearing her full lace slip, nylons, and pink undies. Waiting to be dressed. She also is wearing her rhinestone drop earrings and ring. Face has beautiful high color. It comes out of the estate of a long time elderly doll collector who has decided to part with alot of her collection. I personally consider her to be in near mint condition. No splits on body. She is an original mid 1950s MADAME ALEXANDER 20 inch CISSY doll with an original violet dress with tag (which i didnt see to many of in my searches) , she also comes with a slip which is a bit too large for her so not original. Beautiful blue sleepy eyes with long lashes , jointed elbows and knees , wigged hair and is marked ” ALEXANDER ” on the lower back if her head indicating most likely during the TONY SARG era at company. She has dark brunette hair and is made of hard plastic with ” high heeled ” feet. She will be needing a professional cleaning (see pics) from somebody with more experience than I have. 1958 Cissy Doll Pink Swiss Dot Shirtwaist Dress Val Lace Flocked Slip Madame Alexander. Okay, I would love to tell you about this absolute beauty. The band in her head connecting her to her body has weakened from age so her head is detached. Her hair appears to be in very original condition but is also detached which is perfect for washing her hair before attaching to head. Nothing stands out to my sniffer, but I’m sure there are reasonable age/storage smells. Her hat is stunning but needs a little coaxing simply from storage. It is in beautiful condition and a confection of Italian straw, tulle and flowers. I removed her dress which is pink swiss dot, semi-sheer with lovely rows of Val lace and rhinestone buttons and earrings. There is some patina to the metal of rhinestones. Her slip is stunning and flocked with an elaborate design that you can see through the dress in a peak a boo fashion. Her body appears to be darn near perfect. Honestly, nothing for me to say but it looks great! Her eyes open and close as they should and appear bright and beautiful! Her stockings are good. Her panties are good. Slip is in great condition. The dress pulled apart in the fold of hem (about 6 inches) which I’ve seen before (a professional seamstress used fusible web and did an amazing job) – web is less than 1/4 width, there is a tear in the hem underneath of hem which has been left as is and really doesn’t pose a problem because the edges are apart of the hem which is stitched down as it was originally. Dress may have slight age discoloration but nothing stands out. I know lace can yellow with age and as I have nothing to compare it to, I can only assume this has happened. Her face is stunning. I see an itty bitty dot which I know will come out with Dawn or something similar but I’m not going to attempt this, it’s not my field. Anything else I believe is glue related to her hair and will be covered by her hair yet again when reattached. I apologize but I don’t know the exact number of this doll/dress. However, after staring at Cissy’s face and her beautiful clothing, I certainly understand the fascination and love for these beauties. I read the following online. This stunning vintage tagged Alexander Cissy dress is the very rare lavender model of the dress pictured in Kiley Shaws wonderful Cissy book, on page 60. This dress has very pale polka dots which do show up more pronounced in my picture than they do on the actual dress. The lavender is very soft, when I put it next to a pink dress you can see its evenly pale lavender all over. When I put it next to Elise little purple hat, you can still see its pale lavender. You can see in my picture of the slip that the dress is a lavender next to the quite pink slip, so I do not believe this dress to be a pink faded, I believe this dress to be what I have presented it as. You will need to make up your own mind on that of course. It ties in back with a wide soft bow of the same material, and does up in back with 4 square snaps. No rips, holes or tears in this dress, and I have not washed it. Im fairly certain it would have been gently laundered at some stage in. Its 65 year life, its hard to tell because the tag colour still looks clean and clearly read. Sleeve elastic still holds firm, Im not sure if this has been replaced at some stage, if so its been very well done. At some stage, the petticoat has had extra elastic cord added to tighten a loose waist line. And ask questions if I have left out something important to you. Please read description for flaws. This is a hard to find dress made of sheer printed nylon with Val lace trim on bodice, cuffs and collar. Three rhinestone buttons accent the bodice. Four smaller rhinestone studs accent the cuffs. The dress unfortunately has wear, tear and soiling. There is spotting and staining throughout. Lace trim has yellowed from age. There is a tear to the right side of bodice near sleeve seam as well as one on the bottom of the dress. Please see last two photos. The Dress has a Cissy tag which is worn most likely from washing (not by me). The dress most definitely could use a soaking to see if some of the stains would come out. The dress comes with a beautiful pale pink lace and ruffled tulle slip. The elastic waistband is stretched. It really flounces out the dress. Despite all of the flaws of the dress this would still display nicely on your Cissy doll. Comes from smoke and pet free home. This listing is for the dress, slip, and panties only. Other items shown (including doll) are not a part of the listing. The hat is available in a separate listing. The dress was custom made by an excellent seamstress for the Madame Alexander Cissy doll out of a lovely vintage yellow organdy fabric and was patterned after Cissy’s tagged purple and pink organdy dresses except for a slight departure at the neckline and collar. A purple satin ribbon is inset at the waistline and pinched down on one side to show off a pretty vintage flower corsage. Three tiny pearl buttons decorate the bodice. Fabric is doubled in the bodice, and the dress closes with three small square snaps in the back. The skirt is ultra full and has a deep hem, as you can see. The organdy fabric had never been used and has great body. The pictures show the organdy a little paler than it is, but it is still a light yellow. Accompanying the dress is a slip and panty set in light yellow cotton, which, I believe, is factory made, but not sure. It is sized perfectly for Cissy. The slip is made with a waistband that has one small square snap and is just right for Cissy’s waist. It has one tuck that encircles it, and lace trim at the bottom. Attached underneath is a netting slip, trimmed in some type of white ribbon. The panties are lace trimmed and have an elasticized waist with good elastic. These underthings appear to be vintage items. The netting used (with the smaller holes) would date back to the 50s or 60s. Both of these items are in very good condition, with no flaws that I see. The dress is in perfect condition, just as it was made. It has not been displayed, but has occupied a spot in Cissy’s closet for quite a while. It needs to be showcased.
