Cissette wears an elaborate white pin stripped dress accented with blue stitching and ribbons and underlying hoop. She wears a matching white and blue hat (hat is packaged under her skirt in the box) and white lace gloves. Southern Belle Sharlene has blonde hair and blue eyes. Released in 2008, Southern Belle is a part of the Arts collection and is a limited edition of 500 pieces; her included COA says that she is #209 out of 500. This Madame Alexander doll carries on the tradition of The Alexander Doll Company, which has been known for its elegant and beautifully costumed dolls for over 90 years. G’day from Down Under….. Hope all my doll friends are keeping safe. I’m getting old (sigh) and it’s time to pass on the last 56 of my much loved alexanderkins. I know when I depart this mortal coil that none of my kids or grandkids would be interested in these dolls so they could end up in the trash!!! , so I’m hoping there will be a collector who will want and love them as much as I have. First on offer is this all original Little Southern Belle Type from 1955. I think she is stunning!!! She is featured on page 38 of Patricia Smiths MA book, and is a straight leg walker. Her dress has inset lace in the skirt, and also features a flower corsage at the waistline, and tiny rhinestones – two on corsage and one on front skirt. The pictures tell the story, but I will outline any details that the photos don’t show. Her straw hat is original, and is in very good condition, with a band of flowers featured on the brim, flowers that are repeated at the waistline. The tag on the dress doesn’t appear to have been washed, and both studs that close the bodice back are intact. Half slip elastic has relaxed and a previous owner used a pin to ensure that it stayed in place. Panties are in good condition, but shoes are a little worn. When I unpacked her (all dolls were boxed for a house move) I noticed that the band holding her arms in place was broken, so – with what I had – I did replace the rubber band but her arms are still loose, so I would expect the new owner might choose to replace it. I need to mention that there is a tiny spot of rust on the hem of the skirt which you can see in the pictures. I don’t do this unless the whole garment is affected, since I prefer my dolls to be as original as possible. Doll stand comes with the doll. Lots of hugs, Lorraine. This girl is just lovely…… 1956 SLW wearing her blue formal gown, in blue striped taffeta with amazing sleeves, and featuring stylish layering and a huge bow and “train” in back. She is wearing black shoes, and unusual black straw hat trimmed with fruit and flowers. Black loop earrings studded with “diamonds” – but what really stands out with this doll is the incredible and unique hair-do. It’s a special hairdo that is up-swept with curls on each side of her face and forehead. Check out her hairstyle from the back….. Every hair in place. Here’s an enchanting vintage Madame Alexander Cissette doll from the 1950s. She comes wearing a lovely tagged Madame Alexander Cissette Melinda gown which is from 1969. She also comes wearing her original crinoline, panties, hose, replacement high heel shoes, vintage straw hat and vintage beaded choker necklace. Shoes have pretty little rhinestones. Her dress is gorgeous with layers of pink ruffled lace and a flower with pink satin ribbon at the waist. Ties in a bow at the back. The sash has a faint spot on it but is easily hidden when the sash is tied in a bow. I added the beautiful 1950s vintage hat. It’s not original to the outfit but looks very lovely with the gown. All of her clothes and accessories are in very good to excellent condition. Her lovely face is somewhat pale with lightly blushed cheeks and coral lips. Her eyes open and shut. Her brown wig is very pretty and in its original style. Her body has bent knees and is in excellent condition. Her stringing is perfect and she displays beautifully. Some of the photos show a couple of stray hairs across her face. These are just fly away hairs from her wig, not scratches. This Madame Alexander Southern Girl was made from 1940 to 1943. She has the Wendy Ann face and is made of composition as all Wendy Anns are. She has a strawberry blonde mohair wig in very nice condition. Her eyes are clear and blue, they open and close properly, and she has full lashes. Her face and arms have very fine crazing, and there are paint rubs (photo) where they dont show at the hip joint of the right leg. Other small paint rubs are on photos. Just let me know. The shoes are made of ivory satin as many of Madames brides have. Her gown – tagged Madame Alexander on the back of the neckline, the hoop skirt and pantaloons are all in beautiful condition. I have added a pretty little bouquet made of vintage flowers, and added some of the same under the wide, floppy brim of her woven hat. There were dangling threads there that appeared to have served the same purpose. I have also restrung her and she can hold a nice pose on her own! She is an absolute mesmerizing beauty and looking for a home where someone will get as much enjoyment from her as I have. Thank you for looking! Scarlett O’Hara “Southern Belle”. 14 inch Madame Alexander composition Wendy Ann face. With lovely blue open close eyes which work beautifully. Her wig is original soft mohair like. She is made of composition which is crazing and chipping. Mostly at the shoulders and neck. She will need repair. Neck is marked ALEXANDER – Her body is not loose. My Aunt has her tagged. (Not sure which book I can’t locate it in any that I have) The dress is tagged. “Madame Alexander New York USA” it is in vintage condition. All of the lace is in tact. Snaps are all still sewn on. The blue plaid has faded in the front. There are a few marks on the back but no tears or holes. The plaid ribbons are crisp and bright. The metal hoop in the skirt is bent in a few placed. She wears her original pantaloons. The socks and shoes may have been replaced, not sure. Look at the pics and decide for yourself. The hat is straw with the famous Alexander fabric flowers. She also wears flower corsages on her wrists. READ and LOOK at the pictures. I welcome any questions, do not make any assumptions. - So Rare to have with the Wrist Tag! Vintage Southern Belle BKW from 1956. Madame Alexander Doll – 8 in. This little doll is so beautiful in her gorgeous outfit. On one wrist she has her Wendy wrist tag and on the other she carries her little magenta pink velveteen drawstring evening bag on a silver handle. She has blonde hair fixed in the perfect little set with curls all around. On top she wears a little purple straw hat – adorned with little pink flowers in two shades of pink and also has delicate netting over her face; this stays on with a little gold elastic band. She wears a crispy full length gown in pink taffeta – this features a bustle in the back; underneath the skirt she wears a crinoline and a white eyelet slip, white pantaloons with picot edging, cuffed white socks and magenta pink shoes – side snap – fuzzy bottom.
