Vintage 1950′s Madame Alexander Cissy doll. Hard plastic with vinyl jointed arms. Stitched part strawberry blonde wig. Tagged coral taffeta dress. Vintage sequin cocktail hat with veil. Presented here is a beautiful vintage Madame Alexander Cissy doll. She has a hard plastic jointed body with vinyl jointed arms. Stitched part strawberry blonde/ light red wig in curls with bangs. Blue-green sleep eyes that open and closes with thick hair lashes, painted under lashes, nice coloring, coral mouth, pierced ears with rhinestone drop earrings. Marked on the back of the head “ALEXANDER” under the hair. She is wearing an original 1950′s tagged long coral taffeta formal gown, it has prong set rhinestone accents at the neck and side. The dress is lined and has a net, lace trimmed, slip attached at the waist seam, overall excellent vintage condition, shows some age. Underneath she has a full cotton petticoat with tulle lining and a ruffled hem, her panties are white with peach bows. Cissy has a vintage long white faux fur cape, it is satin lined, ties with satin ribbons in the front. Her cocktail hat is absolutely fabulous it is embellished with sequins, it has a wired edge and original veil with velvet bow detail, it is original 1950′s. She has white plastic molded high heel shoes, one shoes has the loop broken at the ankle strap but still shows nicely. Cissy is all set for a formal event and she is fabulous! This is a Stunning Madame Alexander Cissette Doll in #916 tagged crisp version of the Navy Blue Taffeta Dress. She has high color to her cheeks. In her book Cissette A Complete Guide to the Madame Alexander Dolls by Marjorie E Merrod M. She states that this dress is a variation with the blue and white sheer blue and white dotted organdy puff sleeves, sash and pleated back inset. The organdy has not aged in color as viewed in person. The tagged taffeta dress is in super crisp clean excellent condition. Cissette is a 9 inch hard plastic doll in very clean condition. She is also wearing her basic clean and pristine chemise under the dress. Her hard plastic torso has pink color transfer front and back (below the waist). She is also wearing red elastic high heels and small rhinestone earrings. Her hard plastic body is super clean with tight joints, Her arms hold a pose and her medium blond zig zag stitched wig is absolutely beautiful. It is in the original very very shiny set with long curls to the nape of her neck. She has high color to her cheeks, peach eyelids, pink nail polish, full face paint and coral pink lips. Smoke and pet free. Additional: The color transfer, particularly red/pink, is usually from something she once wore. At the time this doll was produced, red dyes were very unstable, not like today. If you laundered an article of red clothing with your “whites”, you would have pink whites at the end. So she wore something red at one point in her life. She is wearing her original tagged red and white. A red cotton pinafore and red and white striped top which has the tag on the back, mother-of-pearl buttons down the front. She has an adorable rare hoop skirt. That holds the circle skirt in place with full body and white taffeta panties underneath. Her vintage hat is fabulous with velvet flowers and red tulle to the side, the tulle has. But still shows nice on the hat. She carries the most adorable vintage 1950′s toy poodle, cream color, with curly yarn hair and a beret hat, gold collar, he is tagged Dakin/ Japan. She wears red molded plastic shoes, there is a split on the toe strap of one shoe but still stays in place. The clothing is in excellent vintage condition, there is a small dark mark on one cuff and a small pull on the skirt but nothing noticeable. There are some reflections and shadows in the photos. FROM THE HOME OF A SMOKING COLLECTOR. This doll is in lovely condition for a vintage doll She is a 14 Margaret face Madame Alexander from 1950. She has her bracelet but does not have shoes and her hairpiece was destroyed (I will send the remnants with her). Her dress has staining but is structurally sound with no damage. Her hair is in excellent set and her eyes work well. She will be due to restring soon but she currently is holding her head and limbs well. Her right hand has a bit of light damage on the top (perhaps cuts) but fingers and toes are fully intact in on all limbs. A nice doll from the 1950′s with a highly desirable Margaret face. She is wearing the rare blue version of this pleated bridesmaid dress, slip, and panties. She carries her original shoes that have stretched and cut elastic, with a little wicker flower basket. This slip is exceptionally pretty with the dotted swiss tulle ruffle on the inside, elastic a bit stretched from age but stays up. The flowers on the bodice of her dress have been re-placed with vintage flowers with tiny rhinestones here and there very pretty. There are no holes tears or rips in the dress that I can see.
