She has full lashes on eyes that open and close as they should. She has no odors or cracks and no breaks. She is strung tight at the neck, shoulders and hips. She wears her close to factory fresh tagged McFlimsey dress. She still wears her hair net; her hair is almost as lovely as the day she was made. Her bonnet may show some wear and the elastic has been replaced. — —-She is a beauty from the original owner’s showcase. This doll was kept in the family of a vast doll collection from the 1930s through 1970s. She is free of odors or major issues; however, both of her eyes show age and are now clouded. Her freckles and long intact molded eyelashes really highlight her pretty face. On both sides of her eyes you will see the beginning of a crack fprming; it really is not noticeable on display until you magnify the photos. You may see a minor amount of crazing on her face and around her left knee. — She was created with real longevity and craftsmanship in mind. Please look at the photos for further visual details on her condition. Her head is well connected and will not droop as she pises. Her arms and legs will not hold a pose. She could someday need restringing. Her eyes are easy open and close. She is brought to you by a pet and smoke free home and estate. —She is wearing her original and authentic tagged bright and crisp 1930s dress and pinafore. The outfit and socks are vintage replacement and very pretty for display. The pinafor fabric is extremely fragile, but it is free of rips or snags. It is free of stains or blemishes. The only obvoius wear on the pinafore or dress is some light fraying on the back ties to her sash, but it is very clean and odor free with displayable condition. She is darling with her original barrette and tiny brunette curls that are hard to see in the photos. Her facial coloring is beautiful, her eyes are clear and her eye lashes are full. Her eyes do not open and shut easily. Probably from having her stored safely away. She holds poses easily. Her taffeta dress is clean and spring-like fresh. Beautiful Blonde Cissy Doll in 1957 blue and red sundress with cornflower design and red rick rack trim. Doll is in good condition with only one split high up on her left hip. You have to move the leg to see it. She still has blush on hands and lightly on her knees. The dress has a few stains on it. Noticeable with the folds, they look like shadows. In the picture it looks like its on the full skirt, but its just along the hem. She comes with original tight red shoes, stockings and panties. Hard to Find Dress. I have reddish blonde hair with my original Madame Alexander barrettes. I have no issues in my body and can hold a pose and stand on my own when wearing my shoes! I have lots of color in my face–blushed cheeks, rosy lips and a peachy color to my face and flesh. A rarer doll in an unusual mid size. Should be in the home of a serious collector. ITEM SKU or Number. No seen crazing, hair intact. Tagged clothing, no wrist tag nor pin. NUMBER OF ITEMS OFFERED? Vintage/antique Jane Withers Madame Alexander doll circa 1937-39. Composition doll, open mouth, straight leg, working sleep eyes with eyelashes, painted single stroke brows and painted lower lashes. Jane Withers was a 1930s child actress, a contemporary to Shirley Temple. Madame Alexander did not secure the Shirley Temple endorsement, and instead opted to endorse Jane Withers. String has not been tightened but is stable, eyes make a soft thunk when they open and close. Inside her eyes may have age related color changes. Beautiful wig/hair like wine color. Original dress, bottom is wool plaid, top is white with short sleeve with a black vest which has white trim. I see no imperfections visible in her clothing. All under dress, socks and shoes are intact. Fingers are intact, did not remove shoes to check toes. No immediately seen crazing, cracks or other damage but I have not undressed the dol. Vintage Alexander Cissy outfit from the 1950s or earlier 1960s. Blue cotton dress with white lace trim, blue straw hat with flowers and original nylons. Some yellow discoloration on the edge of the bodice lace. Some light discoloration in a couple a places near the hem. Nylons are original and without runs or holes.
