This Madame Alexander 8 inch doll is a highly sought-after item for collectors and doll enthusiasts alike. The doll comes with a Certificate of Authenticity, box, tags, and accessories, making it a complete and valuable addition to any collection. The brand is well-known for its quality and attention to detail, and this doll is no exception.
The product is a vintage 1940′s Madame Alexander Wendy Ann Doll Bride in a pink gown. This antique fashion doll, measuring 14 inches in length, features auburn wavy hair, blue eyes that open and close, and a light complexion. The doll comes with an outfit and is an original piece from 1950, making it a collector’s item for fans of vintage dolls and classic fashion. The doll is a representation of the character Wendy and falls under the category of adult and youth collectors, with a theme centered around fashion and beauty. Made in the United States, this doll is a piece of history in the world of classic doll collecting. You will be purchasing this doll “as is”. There are imperfections- the dress lightly stained. Her hair needs some TLC. Her head needs to be fixed. Her skin and eyes look beautiful though. Looking forward to finding her a loving home.
Captivating composition Wendy Ann was made with a twist waist, a right bent knee and arms held in two positions – left extended and right with a bent elbow, allowing her to achieve many delightful positions when posed. She is all-original, with her dress tag nice and bright, suggesting no laundering of her garments. They ARE clean, though, suggesting little-to-no display of her. The molded straw hat w/narrow black velvet embellishment was used on a number of the twist-waist dolls, so you might see it on more Wendy Anns like this one which complements this darling little pink floral dress with the same black velvet ribbon trim. She has no crazing, no lifting paint, and no tiny cracks around the eyes like many composition dolls of this age get through the years. Her hair – blonde human-hair wig – is in its original set, her brush eyelashes are all intact, and her eyes are blue and while they have not crackled, the left eye appears to be darker with age. I fell in love with the twist-waist Wendy Ann my mother had in her collection and they became the first vintage doll that I began purchasing when I began my own collection. Made between 1935 and 1948, she is about 10-15 years short of becoming an antique. She is a very lovely and un-flawed example of this doll which came in a vast variety of clothing. Rare blonde wig with curls and curled bangs. Wearing tagged wedding gown of white nylon tulle with unpressed pleated skirt over taffeta under-dress, dotted tulle bodice with pearl edging at the throat, satin sash, tulle pleated sleevelets, Medici cap of stiffened lace with attached veil and floral trimmed inside brim, taffeta petticoat and panties, garter, seamed stockings, coral satin front-snap shoes, bouquet to match flowers in cap. Stunning doll with no smells and appears to have been carefully stored. Some rust stains to dress and ribbons from pins in wig. I don’t see any tears or holes in the clothing. I see no cracks to the body. Arms might have had a replacement rubber band at some point (not done by me). Legs bend and lock and are attached inside with a long plastic piece (if this doll is a walker, the legs move but head does not turn with the legs).
This is a very cute 1953 Madame Alexander Kin Wendy Kin 8 Heavier Weight Doll that is Strung (a non-walker). She has Triple-Stitched Brown Hair with pretty Blue Eyes that open and close as they should. There are a few skips in her hairline stitching and a small area of back webbing showing (photo 22). She has a sweet face with pale cheeks. There is a tiny indent on the right side of her face just below her bangs and in line with her right eye (photo 17). Her lips may have some touch up but not sure. Her body is marked ALEX on the back. Her body, arms and legs are in good condition with some rubs and marks on them. Her legs are the heavier solid ones. Her right side body seam is more prominent than the left side (photos14 and 15). The lower leg areas show some scratches on them. She stands well and is a little sweetheart. Her very rare Kin Black Floral Pinafore over tagged Golden Yellow Dress. The dress is in nice, clean condition with some light wrinkling from storage. The Kin tag on the dress has some wear. It closes in the back with two sets of secure square snaps. Her gorgeous black pinafore has two metal grommets where the stringing goes through and ties in the back. It is in very nice, clean condition with a very slight detection of sunshine in the color from displaying it on a doll. Both pieces sit up so nicely on this Kin. Somehow, Madame Alexander had a way of making so many outfits be able to sit up on their own! Her added underpants are not original to the outfit but fit her well. She also has more current soft black smooth bottom side snap shoes in good condition withs some light rubs or marks on them. Her homemade white socks fit her snugly. A very rare outfitted 1953 heavier Kin that is not perfect but still quite beautiful! Please do not hesitate to ask for any additional photos or closeups as we are parting with a family collection and want to make sure that you know as much as possible about her before purchasing her. We took numerous photos so, again, please do not hesitate to ask. We hope to find her a special new home. Thank you very much for looking!
