Beautiful vintage 1952 “Madame Alexander” “Walt Disney” “Snow White” “Margaret” faced doll. She is 18 inches high and hard plastic. She has a shiny black, glued-on wig in its original factory style. Sleep eyes with full lashes, and beautiful face paint. Movable head, arms and legs. She is wearing her complete original outfit consisting of her gown, metallic gold bodice, panties, socks and shoes. The gown is ivory background, with gold print, with full puffed sleeves, elastic at bottoms, fitted waist and very full skirt. It has an attached cotton petticoat, that is trimmed with lace. It snaps in the back. It is tagged Madame Alexander, Walt Disney, Snow White. The metallic gold bodice (vest) has attached collar that matches the gown, laces up the front with metallic gold cord. Cotton panties, trimmed with lace, that snap in the back. Knitted socks and metallic gold, front snap shoes. I have done my best to recreate her rhinestone tiara, rhinestone necklace with center teardrop pendant, glued-on rhinestone earrings and rhinestone bracelet, made from antique and vintage rhinestone pieces. I have added the ribbon to her hair and made her a nylon net petticoat, to make her skirt stand out nicely. She is in very good condition, her issues are: her eyes are shiny, but not the blue that they once were, there is light discoloration on the collar of the gold bodice and on the sleeves and bodice of dress. The print on the fabric is slightly faded in places. I have added new elastic to the bottoms of the puffed sleeves, there are a few very tiny holes in the sleeves near the elastic. The metallic gold fabric has split front and back of bodice, but it is backed with stiff cotton fabric and is stable. The cotton petticoat and panties are no longer as white as they once were, as well as the socks. The metallic gold shoes have worn to a silver look on some parts of them. This is a RARE vintage Madame Alexander composition Snow White doll which measures approximately 13 in height. The doll comes with the original box bottom only. The doll has a beautiful original wig with original face paint. There is some crackling of the eyes as shown. There are some compo cracks of the face but no compo lifting (please look at close up face photos). The lashes are full. The body is in remarkable condition with no cracks and no compo lifting. The stringing is tight. The doll has all fingers and toes. The clothing is tagged and is all original. There are no holes or stains and no fading. Here is a gorgeous vintage 13 Snow White. All hair is present. She is all original. Her eyes open and close as they. She has very light crazing all over. Of her left eyelashes are shorter than others. It looks like her left index finger. May have a repair on the tip. Are tied up at the waist so they dont fall down. Has some marks on her chest and back that. May be from a doll stand but I’m not sure. I dont see any cracks. We are a smoke free home. Something so be sure to ask questions before. 13 inch Composition Madame Alexander Doll w original box. Box reads ” ALEXANDER DOLL COMPANY, Madame Alexander Creations, NEW YORK, Lot No 1490, Color Snow White”. Box measures 14 L X 6 3/4 W X 4 H. The box has substantial splitting to three of the lids corners, faint penciling of the words Snow White across the middle, and age related wear that a box being nearly 80 years old would possibly have by now. Tagged outfit reads Snow White, Madame Alexander Co. This doll is from the late 1930′s. Her outfit is complete, crisp, and clean.. No rips, tears, mends, stretching, disintegration were found at all. She does not have a wrist tag. I have heard her pink velvet cape is more rare then the baby blue that was also offered on this model. Her makeup, facial blush, wrist blush… Sleep eye function works perfectly. She was not undressed for photos. She is tightly strung and has no odors at all. You can see some razor lines to the material in the compo on her arms but it is minimal. In her face you have to magnify to find any. You can find a couple but just barely really. Please view the photos provided and feel free to ask questions. This is just a perfectly adorable and well cared for doll. Not too many examples of her in this condition out there. I could go on and on about how great she is but I’ll let the pictures convince you. More available upon request. I will say she definitely retains most of her original beauty and charm. This pretty Cissy doll by Madame Alexander does have a rather angelic look in her all-white ensemble consisting of a flocked semi-sheer voile dress, floral veiled bandeau, purse, gloves, shoes, underclothes, and pearls. The dress is made of a vintage while voile/lawn fabric with slightly creamier flocking. It is made on the order of Cissy’s blue organdy dress with the large white dots, but the waist is not as elongated. The bodice is lined with white taffeta and closes with three round snaps. The bodice also features the bust side darts, which I’m not sure you can see in the pictures–so cute! The puffed sleeves are edged in vintage lace, and long streamers tie into a lovely bow in the back. It is very full, with the deep hem. A sprig of Alexanderish-looking vintage flowers is pinned on at the dropped waist and can be easily moved if you want. The dress was professionally made about 12 years ago. Under the dress, Cissy wears an original white taffeta half slip, with a white netted factory slip underneath for extra fullness. She also wears white taffeta Cissy panties. The elastic is good in all pieces. Her seamed stockings are by Doll Secrets and have such a great fit. The vintage white shoes previously belonged to a Revlon bride doll. The elastic is very good. Cissy’s bandeau is by Richard Originals and features white apple blossoms (I think) and tiny chrysanthemums and vintage white veiling. There is a band to hold it in place. The pretty white pearls fasten with a gold spring lock. Her “purse” is a vintage item and is made of molded plastic to look like pearls and has a gold chain handle (with patina). A piece of pretty vintage lace has been gathered and tucked inside the purse to mimic the look of a handkerchief. She had such a hard time getting her first vintage white nylon glove on that she decided just to carry the other one in her hand. Cissy is one of the earlier dolls and is in her original condition. Her coloring is good–still has cheek blush and pretty blush on her hands and knees. She has all of her brush and painted lashes, and her sleep eyes work well. Her eyes are the bluest of blue–I see no color change in them. Her blonde wig is intact and in the original style, but not in the original factory set. There are no cracks or splits to her hard plastic anywhere, and there is no damage to her vinyl arms. Her joints are all in good working order, and her stringing is tight. She has ultra-minimal rubbing at the tops of her legs There is a rub on the right side of her neck, but in normal head positions does not show. The camera seems to show that her cheek blushing is becoming slightly patchy, but is not obvious under normal conditions. She is a great doll in a wonderful outfit and would love to grace your collection. Nothing has to be done to her. Just add your stand since the one in the pictures is not included.
