Madame Alexander “Alice in Wonderland” Doll. Hard plastic head, body, legs arms. Head, Legs and arms move. Legs are a bit stiff. Eyes are clear, open and close (sometime stick), no fogging and have real eye lashes. Hair has a style that looks to have been. Played with but with still the same style and a white bow in her hair. Original outfit dyed pink-tagged. Alice in Wonderland dolls: Although their dresses were originally blue, all of the taffeta versions fade to lavender and sometimes pink. Madame Alexander apparently used an unstable blue dye during this period, as the same thing happens with the blue taffeta used on other dolls, such as the 1959 Sleeping Beauty Elise. Vintage 1940s 21 Composition Alexander Dressed Alice in Wonderland Doll She’s a Beauty! Pretty Margaret faced blond Alice in Wonderland wearing her original tagged costume. 21 composition Alice with mohair wig, clear blue sleep eyes and pretty painted features. She has a very nice condition body and pretty face. She is all composition, jointed at the neck, shoulders and hips. Clear and sparkly blue sleep eyes with thick brush lashes. Highlighting her eyes grey shadow, single stroke eyebrows, and below painted lower lashes. Right cheek blush, and closed rosebud lips. Her wig is all mohair in a nice set although it looks to have been combed. It is thin on the bottom. In her hair, a vintage black velvet ribbon. Alice wears her traditional blue dress with black velvet neck bow, white organdy lace trimmed apron, long white stockings, black side snap shoes, eyelet trimmed slip and panties. Around her neck, she has a Disney Alice in Wonderland watch on a chain with white rabbit and umbrella charms. Marked: Madame Alexander on her head and back. Because of her size, she will need a 24 box and the Post Office is now charging for volume as well as weight. Rates have gone up. Good, carefully played with condition. Her painted facial features are all in tack and appear original. Her lips are missing tiny amounts of paint. She has working, clear sleep eyes with thick brush lashes. Her vintage wig is mohair in a nice set although her hair looks to have been combed. It is thin and short. Even skin tone with original paint. Excellent fingers and toes. She wears nail polish. I do not think it is original but it is very professional looking – so it could be. She has light to moderate over all crazing. Paint wear to joints. No cracks, chips, lifting or flaking paint. Her costume is tagged but illegible. The dress has faded to a pale blue. The underwear, apron and stocking appear to be original. Her side snap shoes seem to be replacements. One snap is broken. Other than the fading of the blue, her costume is in good displayable condition. Please read the description and examine the photos – both are an important part of the description. This is a Madame Alexander 8 hard-plastic doll. She is a straight leg walker Wendy and is Alice in Wonderland from 1954. Her face is as pretty as it can be. Her coloring is prettier and brighter in person than in the pictures. She is wearing a lovely tagged Alexander-kins dress and matching panties with a white organdy apron. We offer for your consideration a gently displayed 1952 only vintage Madame Alexander 29 complete soft plastic vinyl and cloth Alice in Wonderland doll. She is stunning and was well preserved by the original owner. She was not a play doll and only a display doll. Her highly blushed cheeks are exquisite and perfectly round. Her hair is long, thick, and set in the original style with only a few fly away hairs you may want to restyle. He eyes are bright, engaging, and unclouded. She appears so fresh, clean, and displayable; she looks like she was made just 10 years ago. Her tagged dress is satiny, clean, and in amazing condition. The sleeve ends are still stretchy. The white apron pinafore is bright, white, and beautiful. She displays perfectly in her custom made, original, and tagged blue dress. Her dress and panties are bright and attractive clothes with well attached snap buttons on the dress. You can see her tights are most likely original- they fit her so perfectly; the waist is still stretchy, and they show no wear, discoloration, or age. Her original shiny black Mary Jane shoes fit her well, and they are totally intact and clean. The bottom of both of her shoes is a soft sole. She was displayed on a chair by the original adult collector. The doll was stored in a cool dark room in her pet and smoke free house. She is free of any odors, issues, or blemishes. Her blonde hair is still tied back in her original bow with a lovely style of long soft curls. Her hair is full and well attached to her wig cap. Her face is an even color with a bright and even blush. Her sleep eyes open and close easily; they are unclouded with totally intact eyelashes. She shows no noticeable age or discoloration. We left her as is to preserve her in the original found condition. She shows no issues or flaws. Her cloth body is sparkling in the condition and absolutely clean and gloroius. Her coloration is much more bright and blushed than she appears in her photos. She is complete with no chews, splits, or obvious damage. She does not have any open seams or major noticeable detracting negatives. Her hair is uncut and close to the original style. We listed two other Edith/ Kelly/ Marybel face dolls this week from the same collection. She is truly one of a kind in her condition. Her face is colored exactly the same as her limbs. Her lips and cheeks are highly blushed. Her lips are full and pink. She appears flawless until I really scrutinized her. In one sof the photos you may see several smudges or marks on the left side of her forehead. I did not even notice until my daughter pointed it out. She has a real small minor thinned spot, or hole, on the top of her tights near the waist. The tights are thick and strong, so it does not affect the integrity of her bright white tights. She also has a small smudge or mark on the top back of one of her arms. Thank goodness for the young eyes of our 13 gear-old daughter. She pointed out these little unnoticeable blemishes. This doll is one of hundreds of dolls from an adult lady collector. She is moving and downsizing her vast doll collection. Many of the these dolls are from the 1920s through the 1960s; they may show some minor age for their age because they are between 100 and 60 years of age. Very clean, could use a bit of styling. Her hair looks like it has been reset. Maybe cut in the back. Still a pretty vintage doll. My dolls are all around 50-80 years old.
