VINTAGE MADAME ALEXANDER CISSY DOLL DRESS Vintage 1950′s Madame Alexander tagged Cissy cotton doll dress, in a floral print, with purple flowers and made in yellow purple, green and white colors. There is a bow at the waist, and short puff sleeves with elastic that has stretched out along the sleeve. There are four square snap closures in back. The dress is slightly wrinkled with age and has no stains, no rips, no bad odors. Stored for years in a bureau drawer. All my items have been in my air filtered doll room in my non smoking home. Up for consideration is this very limited Cissy, by Madame Alexander. She is 21 inches tall, vinyl, straight arms and bending knees. She has never been undressed or played with, just lovenly displayed. She has green sleep eyes and light red hair. Her gown is light pink satin with ribbon sewed to make stripes. The gown is lined in matching pink taffeta. Ornate flowered hat has a light pink straw base. Her shoes are a fuchsia/ hot pink patent. This doll was made expressively for the 2005 Expo East and is very rare. She will come in her original box with certificate, there is no stand. Thank you for looking. This is a very pretty, clean Cissy doll with original blonde wig. Her face is beautiful with no marks or flaws. The full lashed sleep eyes work and are bright blue. All joints are in working order. The wig retains many original curls, especially at the back bottom, but needs a little restyling. No odors or cracks. There is a bit of dirt on her foot. I will try and clean that up. From our family’s lifelong collection of lovely dolls, we have for your consideration a beautiful 1955 Cissy doll by Madame Alexander. Standing 20 inches in height this doll has a hard plastic body with vinyl arms. The pliable vinyl arms have a very firm “base” from the shoulder to the wrist. The hands are hollow. Cissy is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. Her medium blonde vinyl hair is in the original set, and her pretty blue sleep eyes work perfectly. All brush lashes are intact. She has a beautiful clear facial complexion and lovely facial coloring. Her hands and knees have the same rosy glow as her cheeks, and her hands and fingers are quite detailed. On the nape of her neck… The clothes on this Cissy doll have never been removed. She is wearing a navy blue taffeta dropped-waist dress with matching bolero jacket. The dress has a sweetheart neckline and short puff sleeves of navy blue tulle. The jacket has three-quarter length sleeves. A black boucle trim accents the jacket edge and the neckline and waist of the dress. A white grosgrain ribbon bow snaps to close the neckline of the jacket. The dress closes in the back with five small snaps. Under her dress Cissy is wearing a white taffeta half slip with elastic waist. Two rows of crinoline are sewn to the bottom of the slip… One to the top side and one to the under side. The crinoline is trimmed with white ric rac. Cissy is wearing nude-colored seamed stockings and white taffeta panties trimmed with a narrow white lace. In the photos you will see what appears to be a faint small brown mark on the back of her left leg. This is just a thread inside her stocking. A price tag is stapled to the crinoline. D91 U5 508 2081 16.95. The tag on the dress reads… “Cissy” by MADAME ALEXANDER. Cissy’s wrist tag is attached to her left wrist with a white string. On the inside of the wrist tag our sweet “collector” wrote the date 12-25-55 in blue fountain pen ink. Completing Cissy’s ensemble… Black strappy high heels, and a lovely wide-brimmed straw hat trimmed in blue with blue netting and white flowers and red berries. Doll stand is not included. The doll is approx. Please look at all the pictures. My wife picked up this doll at a local sale with some other Madame Alexander dolls. She has not tried to clean the doll in anyway. This doll looks like it was never played with. The doll comes in her “Cissy” tagged original Black Velvet dress, slip, pantyhose, shoes, jewelry, original wrist tag, etc… This doll is gorgeous, my wife collects dolls and was very tempted to keep her for herself. Her eyes open and close with no problems, all of her eyelashes are there. Her body has no cracks. Please look at the pictures to see the whites of her eyes do have yellowing to them but she is still a gorgeous doll. Again, this doll and outfit are gorgeous and would be an amazing addition to your Vintage Madame Alexander Cissy collection. Doll would be a great addition to your collection. 6 of the dolls are SLW and 1 is a BKW all are in good but not mint condition. I will try my best to explain each doll and any issues I see. Red Haired SLW with good color but her arms and legs seem a little darker then the rest of her body and her hair need styling. Red Haired SLW is really pretty with great color and she would have been good enough to sell on her own but her head spins all the way around. I have never seen this before and she displays beautifully but she does have the head issue. Besides that she is a great doll. Tosca SLW with some color to her cheeks but not as bright as some. Tosca SLW with high cheek color that has been professionally redone. Blonde 1955 SLW with some color to her cheeks but not as bright as some. Brunette BKW who is very pretty and would have been a good doll to sell alone had it not been for the red staining on her torso. This of course would be covered by a dress but is there none the less. All together this is a really nice lot of earlier Alexander Kins that will look great redressed if you don’t mind some slight imperfections.
