The hat is in great shape with no issues to the lace. It is still a beautiful white color and has no stains or holes. The pink ties are in good condition but are a little shorter than they once were. However they still tie nicely into a bow. This hat is the perfect thing to complete any of your early Alexander Kins outfits. Very beautiful set of 1935 Madame Alexander 7 Dionne Quintuplets with molded hair and painted faces. Their arms, legs, and heads are all jointed. The stringing is nice and tight. The dolls are not at all “floppy”. They come in their original wicker basket with peach satin bedding, pillow and mattress pad. Each is wearing one of 5 matching satin peach one piece outfits with crocheted lace trim. Also included are 5 flannel robes and 5 bibs embroidered with the Quints names Emelie, Yvonne, Cecile, Marie, and Annette and a vintage white and pink blanket. Each doll is marked “ALEXANDER” on the back of both the head and body. These have been lovingly stored for many, many years in the home of the original owner (my mother-in-law). Not in the hot attic or in the cold damp basement but always with her. There are no odors of any kind. She says the dolls, basket, outfits, pillow and mattress pad all originally came together. Later she added the flannel robes and blanket, and just a few years ago she bought the newly made bibs with their names for them. The dolls are in nearly excellent condition with no composition crazing. One doll has some rough composition on her arm and shoulder. They do have a few paint mars and scratches, but not many. One has a reddish brown tiny spot about 1/16th inch on the back of her leg. There are also a few dimples, or indents that seem to be marks left behind from the manufacturing process. Please use the magnifying photo feature to see their condition and if you would like more pictures than I could fit in please let me know. The wicker of the basket is in pretty sturdy shape for its age. The lid is no longer attached, and the leather strap fasteners no longer work, but the handle on top is fine. She even saved the few little pieces of wicker that have snapped off. They are in a tiny baggie inside the basket. The pink satin lining is trimmed with white lace but the satin has some water stains on it. This set was played with she says. The pillow and mattress pad have some tiny holes. The 5 peach outfits are all in Very Good condition with no holes, stains, or tears.. But they do have a little minor fraying at seam edges. The bibs are brand new and crisp and have never even been tied on the dolls. The flannel robes are also good but one has some spots on the arm that I didn’t try to wash but it looks like they will come out with a light soak. The yellow robe has a little unraveling at the back of the neck. Of the 2 books included, one, copyrighted in 1935 has many pictures of the quints as babies, and gives much information about the babies growth and how they were raised. The other book, copyrighted in 1938 shows pictures of the quints playing at toddler and preschool ages set to popular nursery rhymes of the period. Both books are in nice condition. They have wear marks on the cover, binding and edges, but the pages are not brittle and there is no musty smell. Madame Alexander Cissy Doll High Color 1958 Queen #2281 With Box. Madame Alexander Cissy Doll High Color 1958 Queen #2281 With Box She has her original box, full outfit, original shoes, petticoat slip, bracelets, ring, pearl necklace, diamond earrings. She needs some TLC her hair special style has fallen out and needs to be put back in place. Doll needs her hair fixed. Its a special hair style that you pin it into the wig mesh holes some areas on the top of the wig are thin but I believe its supposed to be like that because of the pinning of her hair so I think that is on purpose and not hair that has fallen out. Most of her curls are still in, some are loose but they all need to be re pinned including her bangs some of the hair pins are missing. She has a stunning high color face there is only minor rubs to her blush. Her eyes only have very minor yellow spots in parts of the blue eyes and are really nice compared to other cissy eyes I have seen(this is a common problem). Her eye lashes are full eyes open and close. She has a few minor soil spots including a tiny yellow spot by her eye that needs to cleaned. She has a few minor scratches on her face. Her body has some soiling that needs to be cleaned its not major dirt its mostly in her crevices and on her vinyl parts. She has some yellowing at her waist. She has a few small color stain spots one is a small orange stain on her side and some small yellow circles inside her knee joint. Splits on tiny thin one on her inner knee joint, one on the side of the knee, one on each inner upper leg near the hips the biggest one is one on the upper leg inside by the hip. Her body has a few minor rubs and minor scratches. A small edge wear on the side of one of the feet. Her wig has minor lift. Huge Petticoat Slip minor ageing, some bends to to the wire which need to be straighten out for the full fluff, piece of that metal wire sticks out inside. Undies minor age and soil, elastic is good, lace small area of separation. Hose there is some snags and runs small holes in them. Shoes minor wear to the foil and edges. Minor paint rubs and minor scratches. Minor stretch out to the elastic one more then the other. Dress minor soil spots minor aging overall its pretty clean on the outside there is a few small minor stains but it is displayable as is. The inner satin has the tag and the inner satin does have some areas of minor aging stains. The sash on the outer has some soiling and some aging. There is is slight edge fray at the end of the ribbon sash and one of the stones in the center is missing. There is a a slight small separation from pop stitches on the sleeve seam. All snaps work and are there. The dress is displayable as is. The Crown needs some fixing some of the metallic trim needs to be glued back on to the plastic backing. There is an area of the plastic that is broken so that needs to be glued but the thread over that area is still attached. There is some wear to the trim and the stones haves tarnish age. The gold strap has stretch out. The bracelets there is some wear and the elastic is brittle there is some stretch to one and the two I did not remove for pictures have some edge tears on them and you have to be careful with them as they easliy break because they are fragile. The gloves have some aging stains. The pearls have some tarnish/patina to the metal. Pearls minor wear and a few minor pearl luster chips. The ring minor tarnish. The box has major damage. Tears, pieces of the box missing, and crushes and soiliing its the correct number. All flaws are shown in the photos. Overall it is a still a displayable outfit all flaws are shown in the photos. This doll is in beautiful unplayed with condition with no issues to report. She has a lovely even skin tone and her cheeks are highly blushed. Her wig is shiny and nice and tight to her head. Lastly her body is free of stains and cracks and she still walks. I will say her stringing is a little loose but I didnt want to change it because she was still in the box. However I will be happy to restring her for her new owner if they would like me to before I send her out. Her bloomers are in great shape and her black fuzzy bottom shoes are in also in excellent condition. Her box shows normal wear and tear but it is correctly marked tosca. Lastly she retains her original Alexander Kins arm tag which does show some wear. All together she is such a beautiful doll in fantastic condition! . MADAME ALEXANDER COMPOSITION WAAC DOLL in COMPLETE TAGGED WWII 1943 UNIFORM. This 14 inch doll was created by Madame Alexander in 1943-44 to help stimulate patriotism in young children. Ready to serve her country, she is all composition, blue glass sleep eyes work well, lashes are short but original and the shadow paint and lower lashes are beautiful. The crazing, typical of composition dolls, can barely be seen with a magnifying glass but not able to photograph it. There is a hairline crack over the left eye and under the right eye (no lifting) The blonde mohair wig is precious in blonde wavy curls and has not been combed out. Her original outfit includes a kakki green blouse with tie and attached brown gored skirt with slip. The lace trimmed panties are separate. The brown kakki military jacket has all the brass buttons and belt. The brown leatherette shoes and rayon socks are in excellent condition witha small red spot on the heel of the right sock. All made in fine Alexander costuming that we are familiar with. As for as the hat, I have made a replica of the original of kakki fabric and trimmed the center front with the metal Eagle and two military buttons at the sides. Coming to a point in the back. Here is an elegant vintage Madame Alexander Cissy doll that was made in 1957 as the Pink Bridesmaid. She has beautiful features and has lightly refreshed blush. Each hip had a very high, small separation. These were professionally repaired. Cissys gorgeous thick auburn wig is in a formal style that is pulled back and up, caught in her signature brass barrette and then falls into a cluster of curls at the nape of her neck. Her eyes are a crystal clear blue. She has no splits, cracks or odors. Cissy comes to you in her pink taffeta bra accented with a little rose and her lacy tap pants.
