VINTAGE MADAME ALEXANDER CISSY DOLL IN TAGGED RED DRESSWOW! This is a vintage Madame Alexander CISSY Doll. The doll is about 20 tall with blonde hair and brown eyes. The doll has some faint white splotches like missing color on the front of her legs, on one hand and a few on her face as shown in the pictures. The doll also is missing some of her eyelashes on one eye and her head is loose. There are a black dot on the back of each leg and some dirt around the top of her neck The doll could use a good cleaning. CISSY is wearing a tagged red satin? Dress with polka dot sleeves and collar. She has a lace half slip and satin? Panties with hose for each leg. The dress has two pin holes and one small hole and one dark dot in the skirt of the dress. The larger hole and one pin dot hole are located on the back side. This white polka dot front tie has a brown line on the the side of the bow. The polka dot sleeves and collar may have some aging or shelf dust. This vintage Madame Alexander CISSY appears to be in fair to good condition except as noted and is offered as is. There is no doll included. The dress is yellow with vertical floral strips at the top of the dress and horizontal floral strips at the bottom of the full skirt. It also has 3 rows of small green rick rack at the bottom. There are 4 snaps that fasten in the back along with a pretty yellow ribbon around the waist. It is beautifully decorated with lace around the neckline and arms. There are also 5 rhinestones on the front that are in excellent condition. There are 3 in the body portion and 2 in the neckline. There is no fading, no stains, no holes or tears in the dress or lace. Also included is a stiff petticoat to help hold the dress out. The only thing that would improve this dress is a light washing and pressing. I hope everyone had the Happiest of Holidays and we all look forward to a Happy New Year! I have just discovered this lovely vintage Madame Alexander Cissy doll dressed in a red taffeta gown. She measures approximately 19 inches in height. The gown almost looks as though it has been stored too long and really needs to be refreshed. I believe that this is dress #2036, which would date from about 1956. It has a dropped waist, flared skirt and a side drape. It is embellished with rhinestones at the shoulders and on the side drape. I think that on the top of the back (where the cap sleeve attaches to the bodice) is the little tiny remnant of what was the tag on this dress. It appears that someone cut it off. There is also white thread on the outside where the working snap closures are. I would assume that there was something that covered this at some point, as I feel that as well as these dresses were made, that it would not have been finished this way. The entire dress is lined with a very sheer fabric in a matching shade of red, and this lining is in fine shape. Please look carefully at my photos, as they are an important part of my description. She has a pair of panties that has stretched out elastic at the waist. There is a half slip made of a fairly stiff muslin type fabric that is trimmed in lace at the hemline with an elastic waistline (also not too stretchy anymore). She is wearing sheer stockings that are in pretty good shape. They have a seam at the back and one of them has a “darned” area on the front (see photo). She is wearing a pair of black strappy high heeled sandals that I believe are newer. They fit her well. Overall, Cissy is in good shape, but could probably stand a good bubble bath. Her fingernails have remnants of a red nail polish and her toes have what appears to be a very sheer pink polish on them. It really doesn’t show at all in the photos. She has no splits in the usual areas, such as the legs, torso or neckline. Her eyelashes appear to be intact and she has light blue-green eyes. She has very delicate eyebrows, slight. “Eyeshadow” above her eyes, a darling upturned nose and sweet coral lips. Her wig is in fairly good shape, but really could stand to be re-styled. She is marked ALEXANDER on the back of her head at the neckline. There is glue residue all around this which shows in the pictures. Her stringing seems to be fine. She has a few little scuffs where her thighs attach into the sockets, and some fine scuffs above her navel. She has a very slight rosy blush on her knees. I have attempted to show her from every angle, but welcome any request for clarification. The item “VTG. This Kins is just beautiful with lovely overall coloring and pretty all original bright facial coloring. She has a beautiful blonde triple stitch wig in the original set topped with an original pink bow to match her dress. She does have one little rub on her face that is hard to see in the pictures but is there so I wanted to mention it. It does not in anyway distract from her beauty. She comes wearing a beautiful pink taffeta dress that is in excellent condition. The dress has no stains, tears, holes or odors. The color of the dress is a beautiful pink with nice white lace trim. Under her dress she has on a beautiful organdy slipand a matching pair of pink tafetta bloomers. The elastic at the waist of both items is nice and tight. She comes with white top stitch side snap shoes that are in very good condition. All together this is such a lovely early Alexander Kins that is sure to please. Beautiful Rare 21 Madame Alexander Bride doll. It is difficult to find this larger size. Bridal bouquet , and veil. Minimal wear- see photos. Shoes are a bit dry, dress is in unstained condition- no tears etc. Very minimal scratching/ soil on body. Jointed with moving eyelids. Elastic needs to be replaced as it is very loose. It belonged to and was a childhood gift to a friend who is now 80 years old. She can’t remember when she received it as a young child exactly… Around age 5 or 6 perhaps..
