1958 Cissy Doll Pink Swiss Dot Shirtwaist Dress Val Lace Flocked Slip Madame Alexander. Okay, I would love to tell you about this absolute beauty. The band in her head connecting her to her body has weakened from age so her head is detached. Her hair appears to be in very original condition but is also detached which is perfect for washing her hair before attaching to head. Nothing stands out to my sniffer, but I’m sure there are reasonable age/storage smells. Her hat is stunning but needs a little coaxing simply from storage. It is in beautiful condition and a confection of Italian straw, tulle and flowers. I removed her dress which is pink swiss dot, semi-sheer with lovely rows of Val lace and rhinestone buttons and earrings. There is some patina to the metal of rhinestones. Her slip is stunning and flocked with an elaborate design that you can see through the dress in a peak a boo fashion. Her body appears to be darn near perfect. Honestly, nothing for me to say but it looks great! Her eyes open and close as they should and appear bright and beautiful! Her stockings are good. Her panties are good. Slip is in great condition. The dress pulled apart in the fold of hem (about 6 inches) which I’ve seen before (a professional seamstress used fusible web and did an amazing job) – web is less than 1/4 width, there is a tear in the hem underneath of hem which has been left as is and really doesn’t pose a problem because the edges are apart of the hem which is stitched down as it was originally. Dress may have slight age discoloration but nothing stands out. I know lace can yellow with age and as I have nothing to compare it to, I can only assume this has happened. Her face is stunning. I see an itty bitty dot which I know will come out with Dawn or something similar but I’m not going to attempt this, it’s not my field. Anything else I believe is glue related to her hair and will be covered by her hair yet again when reattached. I apologize but I don’t know the exact number of this doll/dress. However, after staring at Cissy’s face and her beautiful clothing, I certainly understand the fascination and love for these beauties. I read the following online. Madame Alexander to me made the most beautiful and high quality dolls! This beautiful pussycat doll is all original with her tagged dress and slip. She looks like she was never played with. I’ve had for a really long time. I have washed her dress and hair. She still retains her original hair style even her little curls are still in their tie. She is a rare find. They just don’t make dolls like this anymore! Finding one in this condition is Priceless! She has had a small seam repair. Also her ma ma crier still works beautifully! She makes the cutest cat meow cry. The only thing that is not original to her is her panties. I can’t believe she still has both her shoes and socks! Her vinyl is still soft and not faded. She does have a slight stain on her leg barely noticeable in her pictures. She is signed and dated. This is a beautiful vintage Madame Alexander Cissy doll. She has short blonde hair that is pulled up into two side ponytails that are held together with a brass tie bar. The back of the hair tucks under at the nape of the neck and is kept in place with a hairnet. Cissy wears her tagged sapphire blue taffeta cocktail dress. It is in very nice clean condition, not washed, snaps all secure, one teeny tiny hole in skirt section as shown in one of the photos. She also wears panties, lace slip, stockings, and black elastic heels with blue rhinestone accents. She wears round pearl earrings in her ears and a Cissy pillbox hat with pink roses and green leaves. There is one seam split in the left hip section that goes into the torso. One of the photos shows this. Her eyes are a pretty bluish green color, nice full eyelashes, nicely blushed. Neck and arm stringing fits snugly in the sockets. Tissue was used under skirt to make it stand out and show the voluminous fabric. The photos are part of the description so view them all. If you are looking at this listing you know MUCH MUCH more about this doll than I do. Researching I found that she is SUPER RARE and that she is CIssy 1955 #2098 With a Gold (yellow) Tafeta dress with Cape. She DOES NOT have her original box. Overall for her age, I think she’s in pretty good condition. Looks like she may have been a childs toy? She is missing the hoop on her right earring. The elastic in most places like on the waist of the slip is worn out. Her shoes are having issues with the straps…. I don’t even want to try to put them on her. Her clothes are mussed and have a few spots on them here or there, that in my personal opinion would be easy to clean. What you see in the pictures is what you get.
