Welcome to my auctions! Cissy is 20 tall with hard plastic body and soft vinyl jointed arms.. She has a deep brunette wig, pulled back into a cluster of curls with 2 two small curls on her forehead. She is an infused doll with high cheek color, one stroke brows, full lashes, green eyes and red mouth. Her outfit is rare to find. It consists of a crisp gold lace skirt, with red flower corsage on side of waist, green jersey top, gold belt, and rhinestone pin. Under the skirt is a crisp yellow half slip with tulle ruffle and yellow panties. She wears full long nylon stockings and has gold high heels with red velvet flowers. Three things I have to mention. She came to me without a belt, so I made one for her. Her shoes are reproduction, but I have her original shoes and will send them with her. The elastic was loose, so that is why I replaced them. Also the blouse she is wearing is different from most Cissy tops. The closure in back is different too and old bias tape was used on the inside of the blouse. I presume it is correct. I got the doll from the original owner years ago and presume she is factory original. I have nothing to compare her to, as this outfit is seldom seen. She has no cracks, rubs, odors and is in unplayed with condition. Her outfit is pictured in Kiley Shaw’s Rarities and Restoration book page 82. From smoke free home. 1955 #471 Little Red Riding Hood. Alexanderkins 8 Wendy is a straight leg walker with sleep blue eyes and no lower painted lashes. Bright, original cheek color. Crisp, white, tagged taffeta dress trimmed with 3 rows of red rick rack at the hem and white rick rack at the neck. Bright red taffeta cape is sleeveless and buttons at the front. On her head she wears a matching red taffeta bonnet or Charlotte cap which ties at her neck. Lace-edged petticoat or slip, socks, red side-snap shoes with fuzzy soles. Condition issues : Leg stringing is very loose. Could come apart at any time and yet I was able to get her to stand on her own without a stand. Im not a great re-stringer and on a doll this nice i didnt want to manhandle her. Small brownish stain on hem of skirt. Alexander straw basket but from a later Red Riding Hood. Elastic on slip has been reinforced with elastic thread. Tiniest seam split at top of right leg and mold flaw on top of right arm. Hair in very good set with just a few small flyaways. For your consideration is a beautiful Vintage Madame Alexander. Cissy wearing the rare boxed extra Daisy Dress from 1955. The last 2 pictures are taken from. Shaw states in her second book. The Daisy Dress pictured is on everyone’s bucket list… Including the author’s! I’ve had this dress for many years – it came to me in a trunk with a Cissy and many beautiful clothes. I would not have known it was a Madame Alexander except for the tag. I surely did not know that it was rare until Ms. Shaw published her books – many thanks to her for these excellent resources. This dress still has the original flower corsage stapled to the bodice!! It has been carefully washed once due to yellowing from age and storage, but. Retains the beautiful body and sheen of polished cotton. The fabric is in excellent shape, including the gauze sleeves. Her dark brown hair appears to be in the original setting – I added dark pink vintage flowers for accent. Are blue with fairly full lashes which. Open and close as they should. Her eyes seem to be. A bit off set. I think this could be fixed; however, this is not something I wanted to try. Her original owner said she had been repaired in the past and possibly this occurred during or prior to that repair. Her complexion is beautiful and I do not know if she was repainted with the mentioned repair. Her stringing is very good. Otherwise, she is a lovely doll and would be an excellent addition to your collection. And gloves are Madame Alexander. One shoe has petals missing from the flower. I’m including 2 similar roses if you want to repair or replace it (see pictures 3 and 4 by hatbox). I’m unsure about stockings and ring, although ring is vintage. Her slip and panties are vintage, but not made by Alexander. The hatbox is a reproduction. I try to describe as accurately as possible but may leave. Something out please look at the pictures carefully. As they are the most important part of the description. Remember, this is a vintage doll over 50 plus years old. As a new doll would. I will be listing a few more Cissy’s hopefully by December, as well as other Madame Alexander, Arranbee, and others from my collection after Christmas, so please check back. The doll stand is not included. My home is smoke free I do have a dog, but she is not allowed to play with my dolls:. Some weeks it may vary slightly depending on my schedule, however I do try. 14 Vinyl & Cloth Baby Doll. “Shelf Doll” in never-played with condition. It is with a heavy heart that I’ve begun to list my entire doll collection. I turn 70 soon. The thought of my babies being tossed into a blue bin one day sickens me, so I’m doing right by them now! That said, here’s the scoop on this beauty from 1952 the year of my birth! Another rare-to-find, all-original doll, Rosebud has soft vinyl limbs, molded hair, cloth. Kapok-filled body of finest muslin, & gorgeous, clear blue, working, sleep eyes. Her high-color is original & amazing! And her crier works & is loud! Plus she wears her original tailored, blue & white check coat over a lace-trimmed organdy dress-slip, a tailored, lace-trimmed bonnet that matches her coat. Suede tie shoes, underpants & vintage (not original) thigh-high stockings. From Madame Alexander Dolls On Review by Marjorie Uhl, pg 47. This doll is from 1952. One of my Alexander books states that this doll won the Fashion Academy Award medal! I replaced her shoe ties today as one was tied with fraying yarn. Her bonnet had (not original) fraying elastic so I replaced it with white satin ribbons today. Her darling soft leather-suede shoes show aging/rubs/cracking (see photos) but are sturdy. I don’t think it’s necessary. Also – I didn’t not entire remove her clothing for the photos as I’m horrible at bow-tying & believe the sash has never been untied! The dress has the Mme Alex label.
