Cissy is 20 tall, made of hard plastic with vinyl sleeved arms and is jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees. She has beautiful crystal blue eyes with full lashes, bright rosy cheeks, red lips and blushed hands and knees. She has no cracks or splits. She has lovely blonde hair in the original style. She is wearing the Hard to Find tagged 1956 Dimity Clover. Dress of delicate ribbed dimity fabric with small two toned pink clovers, puffed sleeves, trimmed in Val lace, attached rich burgundy velvet ribbon sewn into a bow at the waist, rhinestones and corsage on the bodice. She also wears a Vintage pink can can slip, vintage pink panties, vintage black high heels and newer seamed stockings. Her beautiful jewelry includes a vintage rhinestone ring. The dress has a minor issue: a little age discoloration on a small part of the hem (pictured), and the corsage had fallen off, so I tacked it back on. This lovely Cissy looks ready to be dressed and put on display. She is in wonderful very good condition with a lovely, elaborate replaced wig, styled years ago by Ms. Greta of the Madame Alexander Doll Company in New York. In platinum blonde, the wig is late vintage MA and so appropriate for Cissy. With high face color and pretty blue sleep eyes, Cissy will come to her new owner, ready to be dressed for a shopping trip or a black tie gala affair. Two flaws are a high leg split which I filled to prevent furthur separation and the inside of her upper left arm is missing a few bits of the vinyl that fits inside the shoulder. It was just pointed out to me that Cissy has replaced eyelashes and an eyelid smudge on her left eye. If I can correct the smudge I will. HTF MA Cissy Doll Redhead in Camellia Ensemble HTF Light Blue Version w/ Tags. Here we have Madame Alexander Cissy doll she was displayed in a home for her lifetime a non smoker. She has no cracks chips or breaks, nice skin tone, red hair curled still with pins in it, original hat panty hoes under pants dress and shoes hard to believe! Her hat box has damage (I did accidentally closing it).. Has some dirt mark on knuckles and a brown spot on finger I think will come off with a cleaning I didn’t want to try after I broke part of her hat box it still intact but now needs repair , a bit of red on one ear from her red hair. Madame Alexander’s “Cissy” in tagged floral tulle gown. I believe this to be #2282 from 1958. Her dress, gloves, hat and jewelry is all original. Her hair is untouched and has the space bar. She is a gorgeous example, Ive owned her for about 20 years and shes been in a glass case on display the whole time (no sunlight, no pets, no smoking). I have enjoyed her, but its time to downsize. She does have some flaws, which are detailed below. Dress has large tear in the front and small tear on the left side. It looks like all pieces are there so this could be repaired by a skilled person. You cannot see the tears when shes on display, theres so much tulle the tears disappear. While there are no smells, her underskirts have browned with age. The flowers on her hat have some browning as well. I believe her tag, shoes and pantyhose are a very good replacement, just too new looking to be original. A little green stain on her ring finger from the metal of the ring. Arms have flecks of paint from the dress and some discoloration. Small discoloration on forehead. Her eyes are crystal clear and open and close smoothly. This doll is from 1955 – the First Year of the Cissy Doll! This Lovely Cissy came from original owner and was well taken care of. I know she was from 1955 because she came in the very minty navy taffeta dress and blue straw hat I have in separate listings. Hat being worn for many years caused some flyaway hairs. Cissy has her original hard curls in her tosca bob hairdo and all original blush on face hands and knees – NOT Retouched. Her Painted features are very nice with gray eye shadow which still remains. Lashes are nice on her lovely blue sleep eyes with gold highlights. She has luscious red lips and nice light pinkish flesh color which matches well all over. She has the older painted body which is one of the nicest for her age that I have found. There are barely any rub marks on neck with some paint rubs on inside legs at top, which are typical, and a few small knicks here and there, and one ink mark on back of one arm which I haven’t tried to remove. Her coloring is nice and a lovely example of the 1955 Cissy. This girl is clean with no odors. She moves and poses well, as she should. There are no knee splits. Inside one hip has very small crack, if you look way down inside, but does not show from outside nor can I get photo of it. Only other thing I see to mention is a piece of vinyl is missing on rim of right arm. It does not show when she is posed only if arm is pulled out. Her movement is not effected in any way. She will come to you wearing a replacement white lace chemise with pink bows and pink faux pearl necklace. She will be lovely displayed as is… Or dress her however your heart desires! The set includes an ivory satin theater coat lined in aqua taffeta, and an aqua taffeta dress. The coat is accented at the neck with a large aqua taffeta bow. This version does not have the coin trim at the wrist. The tagged dress has cap sleeves, a dropped waist, and gathered bust. The taffeta is crisp and clean like it just left the factory. She also wears a pink taffeta tulle trimmed cancan slip, val lace trimmed pink taffeta panties, and seamed stockings, silver shoes, and a faux diamond ring. The clothes are all in superb condition, never having been washed or ironed. There are no holes rips tears or stains to the clothes. The elastic on the shoes has relaxed but still stay on well as seen in the photos. The doll is pictured on page #59 of the book Cissy R. There are no splits or cracks on the doll. I don’t think the doll was played with. She has lovely original coloring no spa treatments or touch ups. The doll has clear blue eyes, full original eye lashes, ruby red lips, rosy cheeks, and a gorgeous blonde wig in the original updo set. The original box is also included. It is not in very good condition being taped in places, and pieces of the sides of the top are missing. Still it is the original box and 65 years old. She is a beautiful early Cissy doll in a minty outfit that would be a wonderful addition to any collection. The pictures are the main description. The dolls flamboyant matching shoes and hats were legendary. Cissy was a trendsetter in fashion; from classic suits and coats to casual peddle pushers and sandals. People even collected the ads picturing her newest outfits. All year long, collectors waited for the newest fabulous fashions. She had formal dresses of chiffon and satin, including a special coronation dress. Beachwear like you would see on affluent ladies at the beach, and elegant evening wear such as one might see at the opera. Cissy had elegant underwear as well, as any well-dressed lady of her time would have worn. A girdle was offered to slim her already perfectly proportioned hips. Unlike the fashion ladies of today, Cissy was not so thin she was rounded but perfectly proportioned, making everything she wore look elegant and desirable. Madame Alexanders Cissy was the first modern fashion doll with an extensive wardrobe. This doll came from the original owner, who played with her very carefully and treasured her.
