Okay guys Ive been putting this off too long now, reason being I dont know much about the beautiful doll except what I have researched. The doll in the photos are the doll you will receive. Ive never had a 1953 Doll look this good. Sleepy eyes open and close. She can actually stand on her on. She walks with ease and head turns as she moves her legs. Her hair is Reddish brown. Face paint is beautiful. Wig is is great condition. Her outfit is original and in great condition. The white undergarments could use a wash. But have probably never been removed. Hat is original and in good condition with a little fraying around the edges. I dont think these are original shoes but are madame Alexander. Missing the hat box. The major flaw are the wig glue one both sides of her face where the wig has came a little loose? Just dried glue I think could probably be remove if you know how. They don’t get much better than this!! Fabulous & rare in all original condition with the best composition I’ve seen in a while, no repaint or repair! There is no crazing on this doll. Clear brown sleep glass eyes with all their lashes. No rubs or discoloring on her Wendy face. Original, factory styled mohair wig. Clothes are crispy clean, dress is tagged and even in color, as my lighting is off. Lace trim hoop slip, lace trimmed pantaloons, green leather side snap shoes that still have their ornamental bows, rayon socks. Hat has a taffeta texture and has all the original flower appliques. This is Little Southern Girl #305 of 1953. She can be seen in Pat Smith’s World of Alexander-kins on Page 13. She is a straight leg non-walker. Her Tosca hair is in the original set, she has dark sleep eyes and lovely facial color. She has pink satin pantaloons with white lace trim and a pink ribbon through it. Her half slip is pink satin with white lace trim. Wendy has pink rayon socks and white side-snap shoes. Her dress is 3/4 length white organdy with tucks and lace trim. It ties in the back with pink satin ribbon. It is tagged Alexander-kins. The tag has darkened with age. It could also be tagged Madame Alexander. Her fine straw bonnet has several flowers on it and a white feather. It turns up in the back and ties with pink ribbon under the chin. She is 67 years old and doing well. This is a Madame Alexander Doll called “French Court Girl” Limited Edition number 51 of 500. She measures approx. 8 3/16 in height from the bottom of her feet to the top of the highest point of her hair. She is jointed at her neck, shoulders, and hips. A dollstand will be needed to make her stand safely because her feet are not perfectly flat as the photos show she has somewhat little heels on her shoes. I barely got her to balance standing alone only for the photos (she would probably fall if I left her alone standing so she will need a dollstand). She comes with her certificate of authenticity seen in the photos and box. The dress has it’s form supported by 2 rings inside the fabric. To store her in her box, push the lower ring upward and the dress sort of folds into a form that fits the depth of the box (see the third to the last photo). Then lay the dress in the box and there will be enough clearance to put the lid on. She is very cute. See the store for other nice items.
