This is a beautiful 1955 Madame Alexander-kins Doll dressed in a’Wendy Goes To Matinee’ outfit in pink. I have had blue but never pink. She is SLW Kins which means she is a straight leg walker. She is in excellent condition with original tosca triple stitched wig with loads of curls, bright natural coloring with brown brows, blue green eyes that open and close freely, no black under lashes, pink rosy cheeks and red lips, no rubs. Her body is in excellent condition with arms that will hold a pose and walker works. Wendy is wearing a tagged Alex-kins cotton outfit, pink button down the back dress, kins slip, undies, rayon socks and kins shoes. Tagged Matinee coat comes with correct felt flower hat. Outfit is in excellent clean condition, tiny bit of fraying around the 1st button hole but all set to display. Box has discolored but in good condition with good label. Wow what a beautiful doll! This particular doll really knocks me out. Her coloring is just fantastic. She has a light brown/tosca wig that is tight to her head and full of shine. Tosca is not my favorite hair color but occasionally you get one that is particularly pretty and to me that is the case with this doll. Her facial coloring is perfection. She has a matte finish to her plastic and her original cheek color is really bright. What really brings it all together are her dark pupiless eyes. Her darling outfit is in great condition. The blue felt coat has no holes or stains and is a beautiful color blue that has not faded or yellowed. A couple of the buttons on the sleeve have lost a little color but it does not detract in any way. Her matching hat is also just beautiful with no holes or stains and the white pom poms are still very white and not yellowed. Her white dress is in good condition and is a nice white color which is free of holes, tears or odors. There is one tiny brown spot on the back of the dress in a fold that is really hard to see unless you know it is there and you are looking for it. Under the dress is a star slip and bloomers. They are both in excellent. With nice tight original stretch to the elastic. To finish off the outfit she wears a perfect pair of black fuzzy bottom shoes and white socks. G’day from Down Under I’ve been collecting Madame Alexander dolls, and in particular Alexanderkins, for quite a lot of years now. Started with Cissy, Lissy and Maggie, and then moved on to the smaller dolls when space became an issue. Having recently downsized our living arrangements yet again (which means even less room for displaying my dolls) I have struggled with the idea of letting some of them go (I have around 100, many of them pretty close to mint condition) but now I realise it’s time to do this. This one is a 1955 straight leg walker, blonde triple stitched wig is lovely set, and wearing “Wendy Goes to Rodeo”; suede cloth outfit trimmed with fringe and felt. Hair is in braids with green ribbons and she has green boots with gold painted design. The sombrero-style hat is trimmed with same braid as on her outfit. The elastic chin strap on the hat is very relaxed, and I haven’t attempted to tighten it. I prefer my dolls to be as original as possible, and this girl is all original. Of course one doesn’t usually expect to achieve book price these days, but it is a guide as to the rarity and value of this doll. Of course the market always determines the price of anything offered for sale. Flutter eyes are a deep blue and move freely. Being a 1955 alexkin, she has no under-eye lashes, and as you can see her face colour is still lovely. The only minor flaw I can detect is a slight brown mark on her left inner knee, which again I haven’t tried to change. She has (I believe) her original stringing, and her legs are a tad relaxed, meaning that she finds it difficult to stand on her own, so a future owner may choose to restring her legs, an easy enough task, but one which I’ll leave to the new owner. Here today is an absolutely adorable BKW Madame Alexander-Kins doll wearing her all original complete tagged “Wendy Goes Ice Skating” outfit made in 1956. Wendy has a perfect uncombed strawberry blonde wig that is in its original set with 3 row stitching. It appears her hat has never been off until I took the pictures. She has crystal clear gray-blue sleep eyes that open and close perfect with vivid painted lower lashes. She has beautiful painted red lips but has lost most of her blush. The only skin blemish I can see is under her chin there is a faint pink transfer, not bad and you don’t see it unless she is without her hat lying down on her back, assuming from the pink ribbon on the hat for so many years. Wendy can stand on her own and hold poses great, her legs are a tad loose but no problem at all standing. She is wearing her all original complete adorable tagged skating outfit. I can find no issues with her outfit. The colors of turquoise and pink are vivid with no stains, no tears, no fading, no discoloration and no odors. The little long sleeved pink tagged romper closes in the back with 2 original intact snaps. The skating skirt has a pink elastic waist band that is great with pink rickrack at the hem. The darling little pixie hat has tiny little pink button embellishments, pink rickrack, with a cluster of bright pink silk bows at the tip, closing under her chin with bright pink silk ribbons. She is wearing faux suede off white ice skates with fuzzy bottoms under the blades. Wendy and her precious outfit are too cute to put into words, the pictures speak for themselves.
