Vintage Madame Alexander Cissy Doll. Beautiful Pink Taffeta Drop Waste Dress with a Cissy Tag Bottom of dress spans out to about 16. The elastic on the slip is a bit loose. Floral headpiece – not sure if this was original or not – picture with shoes is the underside of the headpiece. Jointed elbows, arms and knees. Hairline crack on back of her left leg not all the way through – see photo. There is a crack on the right outside thigh above the knee – see photo. She’d make a great addition to any collection. She has been on display from an Elderly Aunt’s collection for many years, so a little dust is included. Smoke and pet free home. Here is a beautiful vintage 1950′s 8 Madame Alexander Doll. She is marked ALEX on her back. She is in old condition. She is all hard plastic, and all movable with bending knees, and she is strung. She has an opening on one side of her body. (SEE PHOTO) She has a pretty face with blue open close eyes with hard lashes and dark brown hair in a flip curl and bangs(a little messy). She is wearing her original pink taffeta(a little faded) long gown tagged Alexander-kins, with slip, pantaloons, socks and shoes, and hat, and pink purse. This 20″ Cissy is style #2094 from the 1955 collection of Madame Alexander dolls called “A Child’s Dream Comes True. ” She is described in the catalogue as wearing “a breathtaking gown of heavy champagne slipper satin. Her muff of matching nylon tulle is decorated with ruby red roses. Her necklace and earrings of rhinestones and topaz. Beneath the gown, she has a champagne yellow hoop petticoat and matching panties and hose. This doll is hard to find, and in particular to find her with necklace and muff! Her hair and coloring are excellent, and I think there are remnants of the original hair net in her hair. While she displays beautifully, she has some flaws which I want to point out. In very good condition, she is missing her shoes and earrings. Her gown has a few small, almost imperceptible smudges and at least one pin hole which I tried to capture in the photo. I do not see a tag in her dress and her petticoat elastic appears a little stretched. She also has some dirt on her arms and a bit of residue or dirt on her neck where her head attaches (see photo). Not very noticeable but I want to describe as much as I can. She would be the perfect candidate for a Cissy spa that several of our talented MADC members offer! I have added many photos, but will take more if there is something that you would like to see. I would like her to find a new home, and in this case, prefer not to take her back, so offer her without return, unless I have grossly misrepresented her. Cissy is truly a vision in yellow tulle, as sweet as lemon, meringue pie. Her gown is mint (no holes, vibrant in color), as well as her gold foil high heel shoes! NO touch-ups, beautiful matte complexion with deep cheek coloring. She has original beautiful coloring on the palms of her hands too, as well as on her knees. Wonderful wispy, thin painted eyebrows and hints of dark Smokey eye shadow. Her lemon yellow gown is enhanced with a square, softly, pleated collar with a flower corsage on either side! Her net tulle, pleated, Cumberbun is accented with a cascading corsage! The flowers have the original staples and thin wire to hold it in place. Theres a 4, square snap closure in the rear. Her gown is completely lined in stiff, yellow organdy! Her gown is vibrantly tagged, Cissy, Madame Alexander, on the inside, rear, petticoat seam. Her lemon yellow, stiff, crinoline, petticoat has a wide, ruffled, Val lace flounce on the inside. It has another layer of overlapping, ruffled, yellow net tulle matching her gown exactly! Pristine, yellow, taffeta panties with Belgium Val Lace trim! Original, tear-drop, diamond earrings and diamond, stud bracelet! Mint, original gold high heels in un-stretched condition! I never kept this doll on a doll stand. Original, sexy, back-seam, hosiery in excellent condition! Cissy carries a stunning RTRORICH, Lucite purse! It contains exquisite, yellow velvet spring flowers, and a diamond stud! I dont even know if Richard still makes these awesome purses! 20 Inch, seven-piece adult body. This is a vintage red brocade, 3/4 length gown with matching wrap and white flower at the waist. The wrap is sewn on at waist with a visible square snap and the flower is attached with a brass safety pin. 3 snap closure on the back. On the front left side of this dress, there is some light color/sun fade in the folds, shown in the images. The white lining has several stains, also shown in the images. Over all this dress is in good condition. There are no holes or tears. According to The Cissy Files book, this gown is listed as Hard to Find and from 1956. 1955 Alexander Cissy doll , 21″ tall, hard plastic doll, jointed elbows and knees, high heel feet, sleep eyes and wigged, clothes are tagged “Cissy. 1955 was the first year that Cissy dolls were produced. The petticoat identifies this doll as being from that y ear. The later Cissy’s did not have the upper arm joint. The lovely deep red “Tag” dress, decorated with rhinestones, and the doll itself, other than restringing, are in mint condition. She has been checked at the joints are there is no damage except for a minor crack on the leg near one knee. The eyes open and close. Her hair is in it’s original set with original hair clips, rosy cheeks, all of her eye lashes, beautifully painted. The shoes are damaged as you can see in the pictures. Original box not included. Do miss out on adding one of the most collectable pieces ever produced by the Alexander Doll Company to your collection of fine Madame Alexander dolls. So this is a little out of our wheelhouse. My Mom who is located in Palm Desert, CA. Has been collecting Dolls particularly MADAME ALEXANDER for as long as I can remember. Here is an original 18 portrait which I BELIEVE is Hulda from the transitional period about 1949. There is so little information about the Hulda doll, it is hard to be sure. This doll has the fancier face painting associated with Hulda. Her gown is more elaborate than most of the outfits associated with Hulda and it is likely very few have survived. She has the strung jointed head, arms and legs, marked on the back of the head “Alexander” an Alexander tag on the gown and a wrist tag. Her facial features are very distinct, skin colored in a satin finish, heavy dark feathered eyebrows, blue sleep eyes, full lashes, and a dark mohair wig. She wears a beige laced taffeta gown with puff sleeves, underclothes, long stockings, pink shoes, black lace mitts. A flowered straw hat and carries an Alexander “Fashion Award” hat box with contents as pictured. Overall the doll is in very good condition, as is the clothing, all as pictured. All original makeup, nice blush cheeks with a flawless porcelain complexion color… And beautiful red lips. Pierced Ears with Original Rhinestone drop earrings. Lavender Afternoon gown has original tags inside. Silk Taffeta Pleated Gown (dress) has the Bolero jacket, nylon petticoat and tulle underskirt, panties, and thigh high back seamed stockings, with lavender purple high-heeled sling pumps The lavender straw hat is decorated w/ Veil with Floral trim. She still has Original Purple Rhinestone Ring, a Pearl Bracelet. Her Pearl Necklace is flaking & peeling from age? (as are most of the ones you see) ============= I cannot see any cracks or breaks in her body. Her head tilts slightly back (it may need to be adjusted in a mild restoration) Her skull cap is not glued to her head anymore, it looks like it may have been previously. She has been displayed on a stand, (stand included) so she may need a little light clean up… Her dress does have some light spots on close inspection.. Barely noticeable from a distance. Flowers in trim show wear from age and veil is pulled loose in spots in close inspection….
