Madame Alexander Dolls

Here for your consideration is a doll called Margot Ballerina although I’ve also seen her referred to as Trina Ballerina. She was produced by the Madame Alexander doll company in the 1950′s. This ballerina has the Maggie face known for her big round eyes and sweet innocent expression. Margot/Trina stands 18 tall. She is a hard plastic doll with a swivel head and is jointed at the shoulders and hips. She is a strung doll and her stringing is nice and tight. Her body is in excellent vintage condition. Her face paint is lovely, with delicately painted brows and lower lashes. She has big blue eyes with full brush lashes, none missing, and her sleep eyes function as they should. She has red lips and lightly blushed cheeks. The floss wig on this doll is just about perfect. Hardly a hair out of place. Her hair is styled in a chignon and held in place with the original black net snood. My best guess is that the hair piece is not original but I’m not positive. The tulle tutu skirt is a deep red with a few white flowers scattered about. Fortunately it is two layers and is very full because there are several areas of shredding and/or holes. It is very fragile. That being said, the deterioration is not very evident when the doll is on display because of the natural folds in the skirt. The bodice is lighter than the skirt with some areas of discoloration. The tag is no longer present. The ballet shoes are also in excellent vintage condition. 1952 Madame Alexander 18 hard plastic Margaret face Walt Disney’s Snow White. She is completely original & in unplayed with condition. She was packed away for all these years. Her dress & slip have a few very light age stains, the gold vest, string & shoes are like new. Her hair is in the original set with ribbon & has not been combed. The dress has the original tag. (see photos) Her eyes are in good working condition & all the lashes are in tact. I do not want to disturb her original clothes so have not undressed her but she appears to be in excellent condition under the clothes. Her face coloring is wonderful as you can see on the photos. Here for your consideration is a 14 Margaret face doll produced by the Madame Alexander doll company in the late 1940′s or early 1950′s. Margaret, dressed as a bridesmaid, is wearing a vintage, factory made gown. It is taffeta, in a pretty shade of peach, and is decorated with gold sequins on the bodice, shoulders, and on a ruffle at the hips. The gown is in very good condition. There are no stains or holes. There was one seam opening in the back which I repaired. It closes with three secure snaps in the back. Margaret is also wearing gold shoes (some of the gold foil has worn off here and there). And vintage taffeta panties. The doll is in excellent condition. Her face paint is lovely and vibrant. Her brows and under lashes are well defined and her brush lashes are full. Her sleep eyes open and close as they should. She has full red lips and softly blushed cheeks. No issues to note with her body. There are no odors. She is tightly strung and will hold a pose. She has a blonde mohair wig fashioned into soft elegant curls, and accented with a pink rose. She carries a bouquet of silk roses. Margaret is beautiful and ready for display.
