Here for your consideration is a doll called Margot Ballerina although I’ve also seen her referred to as Trina Ballerina. She was produced by the Madame Alexander doll company in the 1950′s. This ballerina has the Maggie face known for her big round eyes and sweet innocent expression. Margot/Trina stands 18 tall. She is a hard plastic doll with a swivel head and is jointed at the shoulders and hips. She is a strung doll and her stringing is nice and tight. Her body is in excellent vintage condition. Her face paint is lovely, with delicately painted brows and lower lashes. She has big blue eyes with full brush lashes, none missing, and her sleep eyes function as they should. She has red lips and lightly blushed cheeks. The floss wig on this doll is just about perfect. Hardly a hair out of place. Her hair is styled in a chignon and held in place with the original black net snood. My best guess is that the hair piece is not original but I’m not positive. The tulle tutu skirt is a deep red with a few white flowers scattered about. Fortunately it is two layers and is very full because there are several areas of shredding and/or holes. It is very fragile. That being said, the deterioration is not very evident when the doll is on display because of the natural folds in the skirt. The bodice is lighter than the skirt with some areas of discoloration. The tag is no longer present. The ballet shoes are also in excellent vintage condition. Nice bright color, and little, if any, wear. There are no odors. Please ask any questions you may have in case I missed something important to you. Thank you for your interest!
