When do you ever see an ORIGINAL Madame Alexander Joanie Nurse Playpal Size Doll IN THE BOX with all the packing materials tissue, and hang tag? This is a super rare doll, and was made only in 1959 (She is dated on her neck). Comes from an old estate collection. We like to disclose everything so that nobody is disappointed. The first two issues are with the dress. (See last three pics) There is one tiny spot on the front circled in the pic. Not sure what it is… Looks almost tan in color up close. The second dress issue is on the back right side. The material in that section of the dress has discolored over time. It does not look like a stain, more like that section or panel of material was from a different lot, and aged differently than the other parts of the dress. That section just has a slightly less white tone to it. That section does not show when she is displayed in her box. The third issue is that the glue around the soul of her left shoe has darkened a bit with age, and it looks like a line around the joint of the soul to the upper shoe as can be seen in the picture. Again it is not terribly ugly, we just want to mention everything we have noticed to be honest and fair. We have handled her very little, so as not to disturb her. She even still has the packing tissue inside her hat! She really is AMAZING!!!! She’ll make a wonderful playmate for your Patti PlayPal, Betsy, Linda & Sandy McCall and similar size dolls with her adorable looks and friendly features which include big round, FLIRTY sleep eyes with original long, perfect eyelashes, cute little “pug” nose, blushed cheeks and closed smiling mouth. 1959 on her neck, she has thickly rooted, beautiful short curly brown hair with curly bangs, (no hair cut and no missing plugs) cute hair bow, swivel neck and joints at her shoulders and hips and wears an adorable vintage, printed cotton play dress with pocket, (for doggie biscuits) shoes and socks. Stands well, her joints work smoothly and she is in excellent, very clean condition with no cracks, no ink marks or stains, no repairs and no odors as she is from a smoke free home. Her eyes “flirt” to both sides and her head turns correctly but tilts a bit to one side and might need an adjustment which we will leave to the experts. This is a hard to find Madame Alexander Joanie doll she was only made for two years. She is clean and ready to be displayed, with no cracks or breaks. She is a walker and has green flirty eyes that move side-to-side. She has all of her long, curly eyelashes, some are just separated. Madame Alexander dolls have a reputation for discoloration, but a few days in the sun will help with that. I have added color to her cheeks that can be removed with soap and water if desired. She comes in her vintage pink organza party dress, a new pink crinoline that I made for her, new black reproduction shoes, socks, panties, and a hair bow. Wonderful Madame Alexander Nurses Aide Joanie doll, made by Ashton Drake in 2007. She is 33 tall and all original, mint condition in her original box. I took the plastic and some of the packaging materials off so you could see how beautiful she is, but never took her out of the box, and replaced it all afterward. She is clean and has no odors. Nurse Joanie is in very good condition. She has her original dress, cap, shoes and watch pin. She has a tiny hairline crack at her left butt cheek. She has some fading and slight loss of lip paint. The strap to one of her shoes is broken but could probably be stitched back in place. There is a gap in the ribbon trim of her cap and slight tearing to the fabric of her left sleeve cuff. Gorgeous, hard-to-find Madame Alexander Nurse Joanie from 1959. She is a 35 playpal companion doll, dressed in a quality-made reproduction outfit. Overall, she is in very good condition for her age, but she is not perfect, please see all photos. Hair is lovely, thick and full with no missing plugs. Clear blue flirty eyes that open and close as they should, long lashes intact. Lip and eyebrow paint looks good, no rubs. Her joints are firm and hold pose, and her walker works well. Back of her neck is marked Alexander 1959. She has quite a bit of fading and discoloration in several spots on torso and legs. Red discoloration looks like dye bleed from a prior outfit, and the fading looks like it was done when someone tried to clean it. She also has what looks like a prior repair on her left foot and heel – see photos. It does not interfere with her standing or walking. Most of her flaws are covered by her clothing. Her outfit is a custom-made reproduction that includes blue and white striped dress, embroidered apron, hat, can-can, and bloomers. There is a tiny light yellowish spot on the back of the dress collar see photos. It might come out with cleaning, but I did not attempt to clean her outfit; it is otherwise in excellent condition and I did not want to risk damaging it. Her socks and shoes are children’s wear in fair used condition. Shoes are a little bit too big for her, but she can still walk in them. Overall, a lovely display doll to add to your collection!
