Vintage 1950s Madame Alexander Cissy doll. Hard plastic with vinyl jointed arms. Golden blonde wig, in original curls, original barrette. Tagged long dress, blue lace pattern. Rhinestone drop earrings and necklace. Taffeta petticoats and satin panties. Vintage wide brim hat. Genuine mink stole with clasp and glass eyes. Presented here is a beautiful vintage Madame Alexander Cissy doll. She has a hard plastic jointed body with vinyl jointed arms. She has golden blonde hair in the original style, pulled to the back with the original metal barrette across the top and longer curls in the back, the hair may look more reddish in the photos but is more golden blonde, (I think the last photo where she is laying face down shows the hair color best). Sparkling blue eyes, nice hair lashes, painted under lashes. She has nice coloring, coral mouth, pierced ears with. Earrings and a fabulous rhinestone necklace with clasp. Marked on the back of the head “ALEXANDER” under the hair. Good strings, she holds a pose well. She is wearing her original long gown with a full circle skirt, nice body, it is a blue lace print, fully lined. The dress is very good, nice body, some slight fading in the skirt, there are some small holes in the lining. Underneath she wears a crisp blue and a white taffeta slip with tulle ruffle and ivory. The shoes are silver plastic. She carries a lovely 1950′s real mink fur stole, it has a clasp under the head, glass eyes. Her hat is after market, vintage 1950′s, ivory woven wide brim, shaped, it is. Flowers, has the cutest miniature bird. On top, comes with a hat pin. This is a very hard to find dress! Vintage 1950s Madame Alexander Cissette doll. Brunette, triple stitched part. Wearing tagged long pink ruffled tulle dress. White slip, pink horsehair hat, pink. & silver strappy high heel shoes. Pierced ears with rhinestone drop earrings. Presented here is a fabulous 1950′s Madame Alexander Cissette doll. She has brunette hair with a triple stitched part wig, still in most of the original lovely curls, the hair is smooth with a nice sheen. The eyes open and close freely, hard upper lashes, painted under lashes, single stroke brows, coral mouth, nice coloring. She has pierced ears with rhinestone drop earrings. The doll is hard plastic, bent knee, good strings, holds a pose well, marked on the back; MME Alexander, no splits. The dress is tagged, it is pink net tulle in ruffled rows sprinkled with rhinestones and tiny rosette trim. She has a white taffeta slip with net flounce, pink panties, silver strappy high heels (the elastic has lost most of the stretch so they are loose) and a pink horsehair hat with the chin strap and a pink rose on the brim. The clothing is all in excellent vintage condition. The written description is based on my opinion and observation of the item. 1957 Madame Alexander CISSY doll in “Navy with Long Stole” outfit in very very good condition. She is 20 inches tall and a lovely red head in the bob hairstyle, with extra thick bangs. It is obvious this outfit is not original to this particular doll as you can see in the Cissy Files book pictured. This is a doll that has been redressed and she looks great. Dress is nice and crisp no damage at all. Hat is lovely with flowers and in wonderful condition along with her matching organdy long stole which also has flowers in great condition. Now both the hat and stole are a matching ivory color due to age. Her shoes are probably correct, and have the hollowed out heels, but her hose and slip are not, but suit the outfit well. As for Cissy she wears this outfit well with one half inch split on her upper left thigh that is hidden inside her torso. Otherwise she is beautiful with tight stringing, beautiful hair, and all her eyelashes are present and her eyes work well. As for her face I would guess she could have been tastefully reblushed which wouldn’t hurt her value. The ivory Cissette chemise is minty. Curlers and comb perfect and on their original card. She is wearing original vintage nice black alexander shoes and her original gardening hat. No stockings or panties. Outfit is tagged Cissy’s hair is nice condition but exceptionally long. The previous owner pinned it up, there’s a lot of it. It looks like lady in red hair that had multiple curls in back. It needs to be slightly restyled for fly aways Her complexion is nice and she has the double stroke eyebrows. Her eyes are nice and blue and she has thick lashes. Some normal play rubs. This is a beautiful doll that is in lovely shape to be the age that she is. Her neck is marked ALEXANDER 36. Underneath that is 59. I can find no manufacture markings on her body. Her dress is tagged Madame Alexander “Janie”. I believe it to be original for her. She is near perfect…. A small light freckle on her left leg just above her socks on her left leg there is a pink area there and one pink area on the upper thigh of the other leg and one in the center of her back just above her waist. I tried to show these in the pictures but the one her back didn’t show in the picture, so I didn’t use it. She has a tiny blue spot at the leg joint where it joins to the torso part of the body. Her hair is bright and shiny and seems to be clean. I’m unsure about the un-even part of the length (But I see the same thing on the Ideal 36 dolls). Her bangs are very nice and full. All of the plugs of her hair seem to be filled and good. Her face has a nice amount of color to her facial features. Light rosy color to cheeks… Eyebrows are beautifully arched and nice color. Lips have full color. Lashes are full and none are missing. Blue eyes with very slight greenish color match her dress. I have tried to describe her to the best of my ability. I’ve looked her over from head to toe and I’m impressed with the 57 year old doll. Her little black patent shoes have McKids incised on the soles. They fit her very well. I’m sure they are a replacement. They are new and in like new condition. Panties are a cotton knit (with a small hole on the inside crotch lining- doesn’t show on the outside) and I’m sure they are a replacement. The socks are a replacement, because they are not 100% cotton. The dress is original to the doll and it is tagged Madame Alexander Janie. It is a turquoise blue with a white Peter Pan collar, with a continuous line of buttons, down the back of the dress and 2 buttons on the front for a buttoned on apron of turquoise and white stripe. All buttons are there. They are buttons of that era and I’m sure they are original. The elastic on the puffed sleeves has been replaced. (not a perfect job), but the sleeves are puffed as they should be. There is one thing to note…. There are some spots on the back of the waist of the dress that have a discoloration. Not extremely noticeable, but they are there. I tried to wash and they didn’t come out. Take a look at the very last picture. I starched and ironed the dress and apron. This is lengthy but I wanted you to know all about her. If I’ve missed anything that might of interest to you, just ask a question and I’ll answer as soon as I can. This group includes a darling 1954-55 Guardian Angel, the dress and hat for Day in the Country #350, “Mambo”, Ballerina outfit with the correct head piece and two wedding dresses. The angel doll is in good condition, she has lovely all original coloring and beautiful brown hair. She is a really pretty doll but does have two flaws. She has a little color loss in one small area on her right cheek and she has a seam separation in between her legs. The seam separation does not hinder her walking or standing but it is there so I wanted to mention it. Her outfit is in very good condition with no stains, holes, tears or odors. Her wings are so darling and are a pretty pink and her plastic halo is in good condition with nice stretch to the elastic. Under her gown she has on a long slip, bloomers and foil shoes all of which are in good condition with no issues. The day in the country dress is beautiful with vibrant colors and no issues. The hat is in good condition and the flowers are beautiful but on one side where the flowers are stapled in it is a little weak. The ballerina outfit is very pretty with no issues besides the ribbon ties showing some wear. The headpiece is still in good shape with one small break to the plastic but it does not hurt the integrity of the piece and it still fits nicely on the head. The mambo dress is in good condition with really vibrant colors in the skirt and a beautiful pink shawl. The only issue is that the fuzz on the bodice has worn off, but it is covered by the shawl and does not distract in the least. Lastly the two brides dresses are in fair to good condition and could look great with a little restoration. All together this is a nice lot and beautiful doll that is sure to please.
