Offered here is a beautiful vintage 1940s Madame Alexander Margaret doll with the suntan body and complexion and her original blonde mohair wig with bangs and curls, and the original hair barrettes and large pink satin bow pinned in her hair. She stands 14 inches tall. She has her original cotton slip trimmed in vintage lace with attached panties, with pink bows and lace t. He leg elastic has stretched from age. This doll’s hair is a wonderful sunshine yellow blonde, with tiny curls across the back and framing her face. She has wavy blonde bangs and her original gold barrettes on both sides of her head at her temples. NOTE: A friend who is a doll expert told me that she believes this is the Princess Margaret doll made in 1948 or 1949, a little blonde with suntan body dressed in her original pink dress and slip and panties and shoes, only missing her apron from the original outfit. She is dressed in her original vintage very soft pink taffeta dress, with puffed sleeves trimmed in lace, a circular boat collar also edged in vintage ivory lace, and a pink satin ribbon tie around her waist. This vintage dress has a vintage soft white cotton slip and matching attached panties or bloomers, also edged in vintage lace. The panties have tiny pink bows sewn on them that match the pink ribbons in her mohair wig. She has her original black patent looking ankle strap shoes with their original tiny black bows on the toes and rayon anklet socks. She has a lovely vintage Madame Alexander pink sequin purse on a gold chain over her left arm; this little purse opens. On her left wrist there are a couple tiny lines in her doll finish, perhaps from where the purse chain rubbed. It is very minor but I did want to mention it. She has the gorgeous SUNTAN body finish and very rosy cheeks and rosebud red lips, wonderful blue green eyes and all her dark, full lashes, and painted light brown brows. NOTE: A previous owner has hand sewn the name’Mary Elaine’ on the little slip in blue embroidery thread. It can be turned to the back or left in the front. It is most likely the child’s name who owned this doll originally. This sweet little doll is all dressed up and ready for a wedding, for Church or for a special birthday party or afternoon tea! This doll has no “old doll” offensive odor and shows no sign of any sun fading. She has been kept in a display cabinet in a darkened doll room in my SMOKE FREE and PET FREE home. I take great care to wrap my dolls so that they do not move around in their boxes in transit. Madame Alexander JANE WITHERS smiling open mouth Version all Composition. Made after the child actress. She was a contemporary of Shirley Temple. Restoration information is in the description Below. Make sure to read it as the information explains the details. When restoring these 75 year old + dolls, great care is taken in having them look like they did when they were mint & new. Color is vibrant, features are complete and great effort has been taken to replicate the originality from the factory. This little girl has clear brown FLIRTY eyes. She is 17 which seems to be a harder to find size? Very nice brunette mohair wig still has pins in the curls and the barrettes. Her clothing is Vintage 40′s era factory dress, coat & hat set. Very cute and in very nice shape. Cotton floral dress with Organdy trim collar and pockets. Not original, but appropriate for her. Please look at all the pictures. There are good & clear close-ups. The item has been photographed well. The pictures are part of the description & support both the description and condition of the item. You have the option to use the magnification feature as well. Sometimes these 50-80 year old dolls just dont survive the test of time very well. Finding a skilled restorationist is as hard to find as the rare doll itself. This is a ART. A labor of love & mostly a lot of sanding. With these collectible pieces, I have done my best to keep the doll looking as original as possible when the doll was Mint. With that being said, These are still Vintage & Antique dolls. Composition especially has a lot of factory nuances that other materials do not have. The doll will not be over strung too tightly. This doll has been repaired if needed, and eyes will be clear and a appropriate color. There will be no missing fingers or toes. I use paints which are very similar to the ones used by the factory. The overhaul process includes stripping, filling, sanding, priming, airbrush painting, hand painted features & sealing. I pay special attention to the faces and they are completely smooth. I have been a skilled Artist all my life. My attention to detail of the painted features is expert. She is from my collection. She is a very pretty doll. She is 20 tall and is a strung doll (not a walker). She has a “mohair” wig which is in it’s original set. Her coloring is nice and she has all her lashes – I think she is a beautiful doll and I have enjoyed having her in my collection for many years now. She has her “snood” on her hair in back – she was a ballerina when in her original clothes. So – her dress and shoes are not original – panties are missing. The dress is appropriate, although not original. It fits her well and is in crispy like new condition – it has never been laundered and has no stains or flaws. Early 17 Hard Plastic Mohair MADAME ALEXANDER BRIDE Doll. I have for your consideration an early. 17 hard plastic Blonde Mohair. She is a beauty! Her hair is clean with original gold barrette and soft mohair. Her dress is cream colored silk, satin and lace with all snaps intact. The dress has a light tan spot on front center of her bodice. I did not attempt to. It might have come off of my iron as I did press her dress from years of wrinkles. Her shoes and fish net nylons are original and have no holes and her snap shoes work. Notice her dress is in two layers. I just love it! Her facial paint is sweet and beautiful with slight fading around forehead. Her hard plastic body does have significant discoloring from age. I never noticed it until I completely undressed her. She is strung tightly and can stand alone. And will continue to sell for the coming weeks. My home is pet and smoke free.
