Made of vinyl, 10 inch Deborah Ballerina is a striking, blue-eyed redhead. She is a fully-articulated (9 points of articulation) Cissette with jointing at her knees and elbows. This lovely vintage doll is from Madame Alexander and was made in 1951. She represents Kathryn Grayson and is one of the Fashion Academy Mystery Portrait series dolls. She is made of hard plastic. Portrait series dolls were all exceptional and only a small number of each doll was made. She has elaborate “make-up” and facial paint – around the eyes, lashes with top eyeliner, bottom lashes and dramatic side lashes. She has lovely blushing and rosy full lips, blue eyes, and a very rare shade of red hair in her original set. Her bangs are straight, but her hair is combed back at the sides into captured rolls, with curls that tumble onto her shoulders. She has her original flowers in her hair. Her gown is truly outstanding with three layers in the skirt, a beautiful lacy bodice and rhinestones for sparkle. There is illusion tulle to her neck and a built in necklace. The outside layer of her skirt is tulle and quite crisp. Beneath that is another layer of very silky, soft tulle, and the final layer is cream satin that matches her underwear. She has her original underwear, stockings, garter, and center snap shoes. She has her original earrings and bracelet. Condition: Her outer tulle skirt is in good condition with a few small tears around the bottom. The soft, silky tulle inner skirt is damaged and has some small and some larger holes scattered throughout. The satin inner skirt is in quite good condition with only normal age 68 years! No significant stains or damages. The bodice is in excellent condition. Her face painting is beautiful, but please examine the photos carefully. They serve as the most complete description for this doll. Remember, the photos are often bigger than life size, and whatever small issues you might see definitely do not show when the doll is displayed. This doll definitely keeps Madame Alexander’s legacy of excellence burning bright! Her hand painted features are very sophisticated, as is her dress. I’m sure she could use a good cleaning after 68 years “shelf life”, but I will leave this to her new owner. The item “21 MME. Up for sale is the 21 Dazzling, RARE vintage Madame Alexander Kathryn Grayson of the 1951 Fashion Academy Mystery Portrait series. The Mystery Portrait series were all exceptional dolls—only a small amount of each doll was made. She has elaborate “make-up” and facial paint — around the eyes, lashes (top eyeliner, bottom lashes and side dramatic lashes), lovely blushing and rosy full lips, blue eyes, full, long, thick eyelashes. Her hair is a rare shade of red, in lovely original set. Her hair is adorned from ear, around the back, to the other ear with lovely flowers, leaves etc. Some with prong-set rhinestones. Her crisply tagged gown is truly outstanding! The entire bodice of the gown is tulle netting, unique floral lace covered in still rather SPARKLY prong-set rhinestones. There are a few little white dots on the tulle near the top of the lace bodice, which appears to be perhaps a small repair to the netting there. It is small, and not very noticeable. The outer layer of tulle is crisp and in excellent condition. It has a under layer of very fine, silky tulle, which has a few ragged edges and holes near the hem, but is hidden under the top layers of the skirt. Lastly her inner-most layer of her skirt is creamy satin, as are her panties, both are in fantastic condition as well. She has a black lace bracelet with prong-set rhinestones, pearl tear-drop earrings, and lovely lace and retecule/ handbag covered in light cream lace that matches the bodice of the dress. The lace on the bodice and handbag are both still rather light cream/ haven’t darkened much with age. She wears stockings, and flat satin snapping shoes in nice condition (both shoes have soles, but one is missing a heel). Comes from a smoke and pet home, and is without odors. Overall, she is in fantastic condition, with complete outfit and accessories, original, and a beautiful rare piece of history! This is a beautiful Madame Alexander “Godey Lady” by Madame Alexander. She is an early Portrait doll by Madame Alexander. She was documented in 1938 catalogs and then was documented again in 1946. This doll is in good condition – see photos. She has full eyelashes with brown sleep eyes, blue painted eyeshadow, rosy cheeks, fashion painted eyelashes, exaggerated painted eye brows and pearl earrings with pearl necklace. She has some slight typical craze lines on her face in the composition but no lifting. You might use some craze con-sealer on her. The doll doesn’t have any repaint and has been black-lighted. She has her original pink taffeta fabric and lace dress, purse and bonnet trimmed with Madame Alexander roses and a pink ribbon with bows running down the back all the way to her bustle! The original Alexander green and gold clover leaf tag is on her wrist. Her mohair wig is in it’s original set. She has her original slip, bloomers, socks and shoes that are still tied with a bow. Madame Alexander Arlene Dahl Doll. I’m not sure if she’s unmarked, or if her markings are. Hidden under her wig. She’s in rough shape. She’s not broken but she has various marks on her body and face. I have not tried to clean her, other than wiping her off, gently, with a damp washcloth. Her eyes still function. Her hair is in the original style, however she has what appears to be moth chews on her wig. She has discoloration on one ear, the other ear has her original earring, which is tarnished. The outer layer of her dress is sun faded. It also has moth chews, the lining seems to be disintegrating, the snaps are all intact but are loose and there are loose threads along the back of the bodice. The under layer is in better condition. Also included is a slip/underwear combo which is probably discolored from age but is free of holes. Her shoes show wear, her stockings have a few small holes not visible when she’s dressed.
