We are pleased to present… “Queen Elizabeth” II, British Coronation doll. E II R Absolutely beautiful, hard plastic, (and vinyl over-sleeve arms) 21 inch tall , Cissy, “Queen Elizabeth”, coronation portrait doll , circa 1950s, (#2281) by Madame Alexander is getting quite difficult to find. She has beautiful, light brown hair in the original set with thick curls and has lovely blue, clear sleep eyes, perfect eyelashes, closed mouth and pierced ears. Her hard plastic body has the vinyl over-sleeve arms with joints at the elbows, shoulders, hips and knees as well as high-heel shaped feet and pink touches to knees. She wears her tagged: Cissy/Madame Alexander, long gold brocade , taffeta, tulle lined, Court gown with bustle train back, attached, “Order of the Garter” long blue sash with rhinestones, studded stones and pearls as well as her original lace trimmed taffeta panties, seamed long nylon stockings , gold satin high-heeled shoes, long gloves and three original, stone studded bracelets. And she wears her original, gold gem stone encrusted crown. Shown on page 53, Mme. Alexander Dolls 3rd edition-Mandeville. Her gown is crisp and clean without stains or fading. She has no cracks or breaks, no missing eyelashes, no fading or other marks and no odors as she is from a smoke free home. “Prince Philip” & other dolls are not included and will be listed separately. Yes, THIS BEAUTY IS 50 YEARS YOUNG! THIS WAS THE LAST YEAR THAT MADAME ALEXANDER MADE THIS PARTICULAR JACQUELINE DOLL FACE WITH EXCEPTIONAL FLIRTATIOUS EYES & EXTRA THICK LASHES! “PORTRAIT” DOLLS were made by Madame A. Beginning in 1965 through 1978 with CISSY FACES, “COCO” CHANEL FACES, & JACQUELINE FACES. The Jacqueline face was first designed in 1961—which is the date inscribed on the nape of the necks of all Jacqueline Portrait dolls. THE JACQUELINE FACE was created by Madame A. To be “JACKIE” honoring THE FIRST LADY of the same name. But permission was not received from the First Lady so Madame had to only make “JACKIE” DOLLS for one year—1961. However being a brilliant business woman, she chose to save the JACQUELINE DOLL FACE and make subtle changes and re-release it in the 1965 PORTRAIT DOLLS! IT IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL DOLL FACE! They don’t get much better than this!! Fabulous & rare in all original condition with the best composition I’ve seen in a while, no repaint or repair! There is no crazing on this doll. Clear brown sleep glass eyes with all their lashes. No rubs or discoloring on her Wendy face. Original, factory styled mohair wig. Clothes are crispy clean, dress is tagged and even in color, as my lighting is off. Lace trim hoop slip, lace trimmed pantaloons, green leather side snap shoes that still have their ornamental bows, rayon socks. Hat has a taffeta texture and has all the original flower appliques. 1950s MADAME ALEXANDER QUEEN ELIZABETH DOLL MARGARET FACE. This vintage RARE Madame Alexander Coronation Queen doll is all original and never-played-with. She measures approximately 17 in height, and everything shes wearing is original to this doll. Her wig is minty, original and uncombed. Face color is vivid with nice red lips, and clear eyes with full lashes. Her HP body is in very nice condition and her walker mechanism works smoothly. There are some discoloration spots on her chest which is shown in the pictures. Her clothing has been gently laundered and is in good condition with the exception of a small hole along the bottom of her dress front. Also, her gloves show wear if you look closely. Madame Alexander RARE “Cynthia” Margaret Face Black Brown HP Doll 1952 ORIG. 18″ Wonderful and rare MA “Cynthia African American doll with the Margaret face mold, stock #1830, made for just one year. Her body is hard plastic and strung, molded navel, bottom, fingers, toes and ears. She has amber sleep eyes with full upper lashes, painted lower lashes, painted brows, and lovely rosebud lips. Her hair style is original and quite tidy including her original hair clip, extremely HTF, yellow ribbon and flowers. She wears her original shoes, socks and lace panties decorated with yellow ribbon. Condition: Generally good as pictured and described above. Her stringing is likely original and fairly tight. There’s rubbing and paint loss on the inside of her four limbs as well as the back of her calves and upper thighs small scratch on left cheek, minor scratching on body, panties have some color transfer on the inside. And I believe he has ONE ARM BENT AT THE ELBOW—I have not undressed him. I believe he has the SLENDER ONE PIECE “PORTRAIT DOLL” ARMS not the jointed vintage Cissy doll arms. HE WEARS AN ALL ORIGINAL ENSEMBLE: WHITE ORIGINAL BRAIDED WIG with ORIGINAL SIDE CURLS & ORIG BLACK RIBBONS. ORIGINAL TRI-CORNERED BRAIDED HAT with original medallion button, plus ADDED GREY OSTRICH FEATHERS & IRIDESCENT PEACOCK FEATHER. ORIGINAL “CAMEL” COLOR WOOL COAT with ORIGINAL GOLD BUTTONS ON CUFFS & COAT, AND ON BACK where COAT PANELS attach to each other—gold “silk” lining with two side “pockets” and five stitched “buttonholes” (the pockets and buttonholes are stitched closed). ORIGINAL FRENCH LONG SLEEVE RUFFLED WHITE BLOUSE w/ TIE. COPPER & GOLD BROCADE VEST with ORIGINAL GOLD BUTTONS, BRAID TRIMMED “POCKETS” w/ gold button decor. A RARE MADAME ALEXANDER CISSY “ANGEL” POCKET WATCH PIN has been added, pinned to one vest “pocket”. ORIGINAL DARK BROWN VELVET PANTS—tucked under boots—they a “knee high” in length. ORIGINAL TAN “LEATHERETTE” HIGH BOOTS w/ ORIGINAL CARVED HIGH HEELS & GOLD CHAINS—Both boots show “AGE RELATED WEAR” ON TOES with some cracks & peeling of leatherette. THIS DOLL IS A 21 MODERN CISSY DOLL with ORIGINAL FACE COLOR: NATURAL COLOR LIPS & CHEEK BLUSH, MINI-STROKE BOLD BROWS & side eye lashes & corner eye detailing (please see close-up photo). ORIGINAL SLEEP EYES: BLACK PUPIL BROWN EYES with ORIG FULL BRUSH LASHES. EXTRAS ADDED: BLACK FACETED STUD EARRINGS. ONE SINGLE BURGUNDY PARCHMENT ROSE. & RARE MADAME ALEXANDER “GOLD” ANGEL POCKET WATCH PIN with roman numerals & tiny painted watch hands reading “10:12″. THREE ORIGINAL HUNTING DOGS: WHITE SPOTTED STITCHED HOUNDS with metal inserts in tails for posing, and metal inserts in legs for posing. These three dogs came to my collection with “LOUIS” never having been removed from their original box. They were stacked one on top of the other—so their ears tended to “fly away”. I have added “pearl” pins on the underside of each ear to hold them closer to their heads in more natural positions. Pins can easily be removed. HOUNDS ARE WELL STITCHED—A “SUEDE” FEEL FABRIC—AND EACH DOG HAS ITS ORIGINAL 2004 MADAME ALEXANDER TAG stitched on the center underside seam. THESE 3 DOGS AND THIS DOLL were originally part of a pair of Pompadour Dolls—”FALL POMPADOUR” PAIR—resembling the “FOX HUNTING ATTIRE” OF KING LOUIS XV. I added earrings to this doll because my research indicated that KING LOUIS XV wore earrings! They can easily be removed should you so choose—I actually really prefer him WITH THE BLACK EARRINGS—THEY ADD ELEGANCE and are a CONTRAST TO HIS WHITE WIG! THIS DOLL IS A MODERN CISSY DOLL: slender one piece arms, TWIST WAIST, jointed knees & high heel feet. This doll has been on display in a place of honor in my SMOKE FREE, PET FREE DOLL ROOM, protected from sunlight & temperature extremes, with Madame Pompadour—shown in the photos but not included with this listing—she is listed separately. BUT HERE HE IS—QUITE AN EXCEPTIONAL ELEGANT GENTLEMAN—KING LOUIS XV! MADAME ALEXANDER ROYALTY—AT HIS BEST! This doll has head tilt for “posing with attitude”, but his arms have limited “pose-ability” due to the fitted nature of his thick wool coat. His legs can be repositioned for varied “strut” positions, however I have never seated him due to fear of creasing his boots. HE IS A JOY TO POSE WITH THE LADIES!
