This beautiful Madame Alexander Cissy doll from the late 1950s was bought from the family of the original owner. She is original to this tagged purple torso gown. She wears her original rhinestone earrings, which had been glued to her ears, and I never did anything to change it. She has no issues to her hard plastic body except for a split at the top of her left leg, which was never repaired. Her brunette updo wig is fabulous and in the original set, with very minimal hairs out of place. She has very blue eyes, and I really don’t see any color change in them. They open and close well, and she has all of her brush lashes. There are a few specks on her eyelids. She has some issues to her right check and the right side of her face, which are pictured. Not really noticeable on display, but the camera sees everything. These could probably be touched up without much trouble. Her stringing is good, and there are no issues with her vinyl arms. Her joints are at the head, shoulders, elbows, hips and knees, and she is 20 inches tall. Her tagged torso gown is purple velvet with pink satin accents and a voluminous flounce of soft lavender tulle over a deeper lavender organdy underskirt. I found a couple of tiny spots on the organdy underskirt. They would probably rinse out, but they would never be seen. The tulle has no rips or tears, but a few pinholes and one area in the back where there are several small holes in a grouping. I have a picture of this if you would like to see, but I ran out of picture room. Under the gown is a torso slip with pink satin top and lace-trimmed pink satin panties attached and a flounce of lavender tulle. Didn’t see any issues with this. I had the elastic replaced years back with pink rayon-rubber elastic like the original, so it fits snugly. She wears original Cissy hose with no damage. Tops are very slightly loose, but stay up fine. The shoes are white pearl bases with pretty pink insoles and silver elastic. They were bought quite a while ago to use with this gown since the doll had lost her original shoes. Also missing was the snowflake pin that goes on the gown’s bodice. The vintage flowers are very tired, and one of the flowers became detached and lost. I have pictured a spray of 1950s fuschia nylon? Roses that was intended to replace the original flowers, and they will come with the doll. They have a Made in Germany tag on them. Cissy in her torso gown makes for a beautiful display. Can’t believe I never displayed it on her. It was just stored once the slip elastic was repaired. She’s from a smoke-free home, and questions are welcome, along with requests for additional pictures. In the Cissy files book, it states that this outfit is a very sought after dress in a modified shirtwaist design with tiny pintucks on the front bodice. The dress features vertical Val lace and an attached velvet ribbon. Rhinestones accent the notched sleeves and are placed in a vertical pattern down the center of the bodice. The Cissy files state this dress is hard to find and the hat is rare. Her dress has three-quarter length sleeves. She has her flocked and tulle slip. Cissy has green eyes and red hair. Her eyes stick a little, they open fine but need to shake her a little/gently to get them to pop open. The shoes have the elastic straps, no stretch in the elastic to the shoes or around the tops of her stockings but the stockings stay up just fine. Please look at the picture of the shoes. The heels and soles are scratched up some. The tops look fine. The elastic around the top of the slip has no stretch and her panties no stretch around the top. Both the slip and panties stay up the fine. The top of the hat looks faded. Her dress is a pale purple. However I looked it over and the color is the same light purple all over. I showed it to my sister in law and she said if it was faded the fabric in the hem would be brighter. The hem has the same light color as the rest of the dress. Please look at photos for full description. Doll stand not included. This doll is from an estate of a large doll collector. She kept her dolls behind glass in a room with blinds drawn. From a recent estate sale here in the Dallas area, here’s a very cute Sweet Violet doll by Madame Alexander. The doll has blonde hair and sleep eyes. She is wearing five pieces of clothing which include 1 a lavender coat, 2 the hard to find white dress with purple details, 3 under pants, 4 hat with flowers and 5 a pair of shoes and socks. She does not have her muff. The lavender coat is tagged in the back as shown in the pictures. The bonnet is purple velvet and has its original flowers and pink ribbon tie. The dress is in excellent shape has some light age stains at the top of the dress which I think will clean up, but I have not tried to clean the dress in fear of damaging it. The dress is not tagged. The purple shoes have their front flowers. The face is similar to Cissy and Binnie Walker. Her hair is in lightly played with condition and her eyelashes are in excellent shape. The coat and dress have their original buttons. The doll measures about 18 inches tall. The doll itself is in played with condition with one split one the left wrist, one slit at one the right elbow and chipping on the back of the upper legs. The purple coat has a few snags to the fabric on the back left side which are visible in the picture. There is also a tiny mark on her nose. She works as expected. Her coat is tagged. The last picture is just showing a matching Cissette and Elise doll that are in separate auctions. This is a 21 Gorgeous Madame Alexander Cissy doll #2232. She is from the 1950s I think 1958. She has on her original tagged rare and hard to find purple Butterfly shirt dress with three quarter sleeves that snaps in the back with all snaps. Rhinestones, velvet and lace accent the front of the dress. She has panties and the correct flocked and tulle slip that came with this outfit. She has her nylons and original lavender shoes, beautiful and not stretched out. She has her original dark purple straw hat with flowers and tulle trim that ties around her neck. She has a beautiful face with clear eyes, all her top and bottom painted lashes, good brows, pink lips and rosy cheek color(upon a closer look she has a very small mark between her ear and cheek on her face that may or may not come off). She has shiney brunette hair in original set, the back has fallen some. Her rhinestone earrings are original but I added the ring that is white crystal with real blue sapphires on each side. I have had her in my collection for a very long time and have never undressed her but every thing looks good. A truly wonderful Cissy doll. The dress is nice and crisp with no stains, tears or repairs that I can see. She is an almost perfect example of this doll and outfit. Her head is really loose so Im sure she will need restringing. She is 60 years old but a really nice doll. I have not collected dolls for a while so might have missed something important to you, so please ask questions.
