A VINTAGE MADAME ALEXANDER “SWEET VIOLET ” 18 FULLY JOINTED WALKER DOLL MODEL #18788, MADE IN 1954. SHE IS FULLY POSEABLE AND IN GOOD PLAYED WITH CONDITION. HER FACIAL COLORING AND WIG ARE GOOD! SHE HAS WHAT APPEARS TO BE SOME GLUE RESIDUE NEAR HER HAIRLINE(11TH PHOTO). SHE COMES WITH HER ORIGINAL OUTFIT! HER LILAC COAT IS TAGGED! IT HAS A TINY MAR ON THE FRONT AND IS MISSING ONE BUTTON BUT STILL HAS BODY AND SHEEN. HER PURPLE TRIMMED DRESS AND PINK PANTIES ARE NICE AND CRISP AND COMPLETE WITH NO HOLES OR TEARS! THE OUTFIT HAS SOME SOILING AND COULD USE A CLEANING. HER SHOES ARE EXCELLENT BUT MISSING THE LITTLE FLOWERS. SHE’S WEARING HER ORIGINAL RIBBED SOCKS! THE PURPLE PUFF HAT IS EXCELLENT BUT THE LINING IS BEGINNING TO SEPARATE (SEE 2ND PHOTO). THE ELASTIC ON THE HAT STILL HAS SOME STRETCH! THE RIBBON IS GOOD AND THE FLORALS ARE PRESENT! HER RUB MARKS AND SCRATCHES ARE CONSISTENT WITH PLAYED WITH DOLLS OF THIS AGE. SHE WILL MAKE A NICE ADDITION TO ANY MA COLLECTION WITH A BIT OF TLC! 1950s Madame Alexander Sweet Violet 18 Doll, Cissy Binnie Face, All Original. 1950s Madame Alexander Sweet Violet 18 Doll, Cissy Binnie Face, All Original Lovely and very rare vintage Sweet Violet Doll by Madame Alexander, early 1950s. She’s 18 tall, hard plastic with jointed arms, elbows, wrists, legs and knees. She has the Cissy Binnie face, blue eyes with a hint of violet to them, full lashes, eyes open and close well. Pretty face painting, nice hair accented with her original purple velvet hat with millinery flowers. She’s wearing her original dress, panties, shoes (one shoe is missing a flower) and her beautiful violet coat with tiny buttons, coat is tagged in the back. She’s a very pretty and hard to find doll. Circa 1954 very hard to find Sweet Violet. She is wearing her original outfit which is tagged. Her organdy dress is aged and some of her flowers may be replacements but vintage. Elastic in sleeves relaxed. Her pink taffeta slip and panties, rayon socks and purple velvet center snap shoes are in great shape. Her original hat is a gold taffeta with straw edge and has both original ribbon as well as a replaced vintage ribbon. Some flowers may also be replaced. This rare doll has jointed elbows and knees and wrists and is a walker (this body was used for the Madeline doll) her head is a Cissy head with vivid deep blue/purple eyes. Walker works very well. Original coloring is good. Some aging on plastic. Could probably use freshening. I have enjoyed her for many years, now its time for another collector to enjoy her. Her pink CHEEKS HAVE BEEN REFRESHED. Her ORGINAL BLONDE CURLY WIG has been cut short—less noticeable with added PASTEL PINK WOVEN “SWEET SUE” BONNET with NEW FLORALS & RIBBONS—including an extra PINK SATIN & LACE RUFFLE tucked under her brim. This Little Lady is making the best of a “bad hair day”. She wears her ORIGINAL RARE PURPLE FAILLE TAGGED Madame Alexander FITTED COAT with TWO ORIGINAL PEARL BUTTONS. The top button hole has been tied with a purple ribbon because the original top pearl button is missing. I tried & tried to find a replacement button but this tiny size I could not find. Close inspection of the vintage petticoat showed need of repair—it will not be included with this doll. She wears OOAK LEMON YELLOW LACE TRIMMED COTTON PANTIES complete her attire. She wears NEW WHITE MESH HOSE with her ORIGINAL DARK PURPLE VELVETEEN SNAP SHOES with tiny violets on the toes! This Beauty has been meticulously cleaned and her original paint refreshed as needed. She had a CHEEK REPAIR DONE too necessitating added “blush” to her right cheek. This Little Lady is NOT MINT BUT STILL VERY MUCH A SWEETHEART! She has chosen a OOAK NEW MINI-ROSE PARCHMENT BOUQUET of lavender, yellow & pink hues. She wears a NEW MINI-RHINESTONE BRACELET! She has been on display in a place of honor in my SMOKE FREE, PET FREE DOLL ROOM protected from sunlight & temperature extremes. I told myself “this is one doll I will never part with” but here she is—listed for a short time. She begged me to be listed because her two best friends, shown in the photos with her, are currently listed—separately.
