This is the 1967 Madame Alexander Renoir portrait doll. This is big sister. See the photo above to see big and little sister together. Big sister is a beautiful Madame Alexander portrait doll. Her brown eyes are set in such a way that she seems a bit mischievous. She may have a joke to tell. She is wearing a cheerful red taffeta hat with flowers, a sleeveless navy blue gown trimmed with lace, and over it, a tight cut jacket with lace-trimmed sleeves and a flower at the waist. If you have Marjorie Uhl’s book Madame Alexander’s Ladies of Fashion, a full description of her is found on page 125. One of the photos shows all that comes with her. Her hat and dress are original. The rest is replacement. Her new pearl earrings match the original. Her red sandals are Madame Alexander original, but the elastic has stretched. She has a new short crinoline petticoat that works well with her dress, new hosiery, and bloomers. She is in good condition except for some leg cracks as mentioned above, none of them dangerous. She has flawless eyes, her original complexion, and her hair in its original carefully pinned chignon. These “Dionne Quintuplet” dolls were made by Madame Alexander in the 1930′s!! They are the rare-hard to find 10 composition dolls that have the movable joints. They have the original dresses and bibs with their names-each with their own color weaved in!! The underwear and slips may also be original, but I’m not sure on that! They are marked Madame Alexander on their upper backs and “Dionne” on the back on the neck accept for Emilie-just marked Madame Alex. There are many photos of the actual quints in this book! The dolls have incurred damage, being over 80 years old!! The hair was repainted on two of them where the paint had rubbed off. Some of the heads have some cracking and crazing and there is paint loss and cracking in various areas. The stringing on each is intact!! All of their eyes still open and close! I’ll describe in detail each doll, and you can visibly see in the photos most of it. “Annette”-paint is worn off some in the back of her hair, slight crazing on her head, finger tips worn, paint off big toes and some on legs. “Cecile”-hair has been repainted, paint loss on back of head and neck and ear. Some rubs and paint off toes and fingers and nose. Vertical cracks in eye sockets. “Emilie”-pretty good shape-just a little paint off back of hair on neck, little cracking on toes. “Marie”-light surface crack on one side of face and one on top of head, crazing behind left ear, 1 crack in eye socket. “Yvonne”-has repainted hair and major crack in the head that looks repaired-it’s stable. Lots of paint loss around back of head, some on the arm, legs and toes, as well as tip of nose. Please feel free to request more pictures of any of the dolls, as I could only post 12 pics. Even though these dolls show wear from their age and have been well-loved- they are still really adorable and collectible, and are a great survival!! It’s a wooden vintage baby bed with mattress! 1950 21 Maggie Walker! This beautiful Maggie is wearing her complete original tagged outfit! Other than a slight fade on part of the bodice & on part of the right front skirt pleat, and as you can see this doesn’t at all distract from how well she shows off!! this dress is in beautiful condition. Cute white ric-rac & lace trim at the neckline are the perfect touches, and a deep pleat down the skirt at center front is a welcome addition, all tucked together with a wine-colored faux-suede belt. Closure is at the back with four white buttons. Underneath Maggie wears bloomers that match her dress, and she loves to show off her coordinated wine-colored center snap faux-suede shoes! Her nylon socks are never before worn originals. Completeing her outfit is a very cute vintage four leaf clover necklace with a blue rhinestone center, a vintage pearl bracelet, and Maggie’s vintage original pink beauty box with a comb & curlers inside. Lightly written on the back side of the box is “Dearest From Santa Claus”. This is one spunky Maggie! She has perfect features, and her blush has been refreshed. She has a very thick dark blonde wig with lots of curls tied up with a ribbon & framing her face. Riginal box in fair/poor condition. Doll has play wear including scratches , scuffs , surface dirt , uneven and blotchy skin tone on legs and torso mostly. Replaced dress, shoes and socks I’m pretty sure are original the shoes may have been white at one time. She has tinted painted nails I believe factory. Eyes open and close freely more on the blue side in shade I’m not sure if she has the flirty side to side eyes unless there’s a trick to make them move. I have taken some pics of what I can see on the inside of this doll she appears to be a walker with strung arms and a rod running to the legs now this is the first of this kind I’ve seen for myself I have mostly ideal playpals so I’m not sure how the Alexander doll operates or if anything is missing replaced or broken which is why I included what I can see inside the doll.
