For your consideration, a fabulous Qui-Kin groom. Of hard plastic and as a result, he is heavier than later dolls. He is also know as the “yes” and “NO” doll as his head moves forward when you press the yes bottomed turns head from side to side when you press the “no” bottom. Gorgeous Mint 1953 Alexanderkin as Southern Belle. Doll is complete with all original clothes and hat, although the orginal feathers have come off hat but are there. She is a wonderful example. The box is the smaller version and is unmarked with eh exception of the Alexander Label and cover is split at corners. All offers will be considered. G’day from Down Under I’ve been collecting Madame Alexander dolls, and in particular Alexanderkins, for quite a lot of years now. Started with Cissy, Lissy and Maggie, and then moved on to the smaller dolls when space became an issue. Having recently downsized our living arrangements yet again (which means even less room for displaying my dolls) I have struggled with the idea of letting some of them go (I have around 100, many of them pretty close to mint condition) but now I realise it’s time to do this. This one is a 1953 straight leg non walker, brunette triple stitched wig is lovely set, and wearing an outfit that includes pink floral jumper dress with white ric rac, and a one piece romper in pink, also with white ric rac. The bonnet matches the romper fabric, and as you can see, the outfit still has it’s Alexanderkin tag attached. Flutter eyes are blue and move freely. Shoes are top-stitched black with fuzzy soles, as it typical of the kins of this early era. Socks are the typical rayon in white, and the whole outfit comes together beautifully in my opinion. She has a little blush left on her cheeks, her brows are still there, and her under-eye lashes are very dark. She stands on her own without any difficulty; she is well strung and holds a pose well as the first pic shows. Pretty 1953 “Wendy” 7 1/2 SLNW Heavy hard plastic. Green Eyes open and shut freely, and she is marked:Alex on her back. Her dark brunette wig is triple stitched with nice original curl. Skin tones slightly tan color, light pink on cheeks and red rosebud mouth. Wendy is wearing a pretty checked (white & blue) tagged dress, crochet lace around the neck and arms, pink appliques flowers on front. Buttons down the back with a belt that ties. Wendy has a few problems as I discovered after I got her home and started looking at her. Her left leg has the plastic hook replaced with a metal hook, she is still tightly strung, and you don’t see on less you pull her leg out. She has a spot of glue in the back, I didn’t see it till the camera light pointed it out, a small dent on the inside of left arm. Some of the pictures were taken outside trying to give true color. This listing is for a BEAUTIFUL STRUNG Alexander-kins from the first year Madame Alexander produced her 8 dolls. She is a STRAIGT LEG NON-WALKER and is unique in that, only in 1953, did Madame Alexander make these dolls with solid legs. She is significantly heavier than later kins. Also, since she is strung, she can be posed in a great variety of poses, including tilting her head which the later walkers are unable to do. This sweet doll is blessed with a honey blond triple-stitched wig in it original set. Her clear blue eyes open and close nicely. She has flawless red lips and lightly blushed cheeks. Her painted bottom lashes are perfect. She is tightly strung, stands on her own and holds a pose nicely. If she was played with at all, it was very lightly. She wears t agged, pink panties and perfect black suede shoes with fuzzy bottoms accompanied by pink rayon socks. I found a slight indentation at the inside of her right eyebrow which I believe was made during her manufacture. Until September 8 before returning to my home in Panama. Please study the photos. An adorable vintage Doll by Madame Alexander from 1953 – 1954. She is 7.5 inches tall, has working sleep eyes, and is a straight leg non walker doll. Wendy Ann is in all original condition, which is very near perfect, since she has spent all her life displayed in her box. Her clothing has no tears, holes, stains, etc. The front of the dress is a little faded and back of the dress is a little darker blue; the elastic on her precious hat and the elastic in her short half slip are stretched. Her perfect triple stitched blond wig is in its original curl. This sweet doll wears fuzzy bottomed white side snap shoes and socks. The box label is marked “Kins”, “300″ but someone has written “Prince Charles” on it. Please review the photographs carefully, and let me know if you have any questions.
